Happy Friday! Holy moly it’s been a very LONG week for me and I’m SO happy that it’s Friday. Work has been busy and I started my Invisalign treatment on Tuesday afternoon. It was pretty rough the first two days but it’s slowly getting better. The big pay off will be a straight smile in about 12-18 months 🙂
So…today is my first Friday Five post in the new format. Because this should be a quick 5 minute read, I thought I would share some short, but great articles/posts I’ve read this week. Check them out below!
1.) The Ultimate Crowdsourced Sports Bra Guide
Sports bra reviews from runners of all shapes and sizes. If you’re looking for a new sports bra, this is worth a read. Although I have a sports bra that works very well for me (Moving Comfort Juno), I did learn of some new brands which is always cool!
2.) 13 Tears Later, This Is What Strength Looks Like
Talk about inspiration. Missy’s story is all about perseverance and believing in yourself.
3.) 5 Reasons to Watch the 2018 Boston Marathon Women’s Race
Anyone else excited for Boston?! Of course I’ll be attempting to watch the live feed of the race while I’m at work on Monday. I LOVE that the women’s field is so strong this year!
4.) Creative Ways to Support Your Runner During Marathon Training and Beyond
There were so many great tips in this post. I think sometimes it’s hard for our non-running friends to support us because they just don’t know how. Amanda gives some great tips, especially when discussing small gestures.
5.) 9 Hilarious Shapes Runners Have Made On Their Daily Routes
I’m always amazed by runners that can do this! I just always try to pick a route that has the least amount of stoplights LoL.
Have you had any interesting quick reads this week?
I’m linking up for Friday Five 2.0 with Rachel from Running on Happy and Lacey and Meranda from Fairytales and Fitness.
Rach @ Girl On The Run says
You mean @runrach isn’t up there on the women to watch during the Boston Marathon HA! The sad thing about running is that I won’t be able to watch the elite fields…I am so rooting for Shalane, I love her
kookyrunner says
LOL I will be tracking you and I hope you have an awesome race on Monday!
Wendy says
Those people who do the creative routes? That is so fun but who has time for all that planning? LOL
I’m of course rooting for my girl Deena, but realistically I would love if Shalane wins. Or Desi. Or Molly. USA…USA…
kookyrunner says
Haha I feel the same way. Although I tip my hat to them because they are super creative!
Deborah @ Confessions of mother runner says
I am so not talented enough to make fun run route photos! I well check out the sports bra article. Have a fab weekend
kookyrunner says
Same! I would also get frustrated and probably mess up the photo early on in the run lol
Coco says
I hope to watch Boston at work too! Our Boston office is closed, but they are near the finish line.
kookyrunner says
That’s so cool that your Boston office location is near the finish line and that the office is closed! I’m sure all the employees will be spectating or running.
Kimberly Hatting says
I never get much of a chance to see the Boston Marathon. WE do have a co-worker who is running it this year, though, so we’re gonna try to track her.
kookyrunner says
That’s so exciting that you have a co-worker running Boston this year!
Rachel says
Hahaha! Poo. I love it. I have the humor of a 6 year old.
kookyrunner says
LOL – I’m the same way!
Lisa @ Mile by Mile says
I have no idea how people can spell things or make pictures on their run! The dino and turkey ones are really impressive!
kookyrunner says
LOL same here. I would just get too frustrated to even try to do it.
amanda -runtothefinish says
awe thank you so much for including me!!! I need to go read some of these!
kookyrunner says
You’re welcome Amanda – I really loved your blog and it was full of great ideas!
Sarah @ merrillthon says
I’m really looking forward to watching the marathon on Monday! And thanks for sharing the bra article – my favorite is discontinued, so at some point I’ll have to find replacements. *single tear*
kookyrunner says
Me too! It’s always such a great event.
Ugh that’s so sad about your favorite sports bra – so annoying when brands discontinue items that we love!
Clarinda says
I’m always impressed with interesting running route shapes. I’ve done a few and it takes a lot of planning. LOL
kookyrunner says
I’ve never tried one because I know I don’t have the patience, lol
Jenn says
I love those runners who are able to make their routes into pictures and illustrations! I don’t think I have enough cross streets to do this!
I am really excited for Boston. It’s such a great event to watch, and even though I will be at work, I will find a way to stream it.
kookyrunner says
Me too! I just know that I don’t have the patience to do it, lol.
I always try to find a way to watch the Boston race at work, even if it’s just a few minutes here and there.
Lacey@fairytalesandfitness says
That is to funny with the running routes. I’ll have to look that one up. I am excited to watch the Boston Marathon as well. I am glad I have off that day!
kookyrunner says
So nice that you have the day off on Monday!
Lesley says
I’m excited for tomorrow’s race. I do miss Boston on Marathon Monday.
kookyrunner says
I’m streaming it now at my desk!
Kathryn @ Dancing to Running says
I’m all about product reviews, so the sports bra guide is quite intriguing. I too am a fan of the Juno bra, but if I ever have a need to switch things up then I’ll definitely have to check this guide out. Thanks for the recommendation!
kookyrunner says
No problem – Glad that you found it helpful!
