It’s Friday, so that means I’m linking up for Friday Five 2.0 with Rachel from Running on Happy and Lacey and Meranda from Fairytales and Fitness.
One thing I’ve been working on this summer is getting more protein into my diet. Although I do eat meat, I’m not a huge fan of eating it everyday. Until I start eating more eggs, beans and fish, the easiest way for me to get protein is to incorporate protein powder into my smoothies (and baked goods). When looking at protein powders, I have a few “must-haves” and Nuzest certainly fits the bill. Here are five reasons why I highly recommend Nuzest protein powder.
Clean Ingredients
So many protein powders are full of junk, and calories, which can be more harmful than good. Nuzest Clean Lean Protein is all natural, plant-based and allergen free. It’s also gluten, dairy and soy free and non-GMO. It makes me feel good knowing that I’m not only getting extra protein in my diet, but good, clean protein
Great Tasting Flavors
Nuzest protein powder comes in five flavors – creamy cappuccino, just natural, rich chocolate, smooth vanilla and wild strawberry. I’ve tried all of these flavors and the wild strawberry was by far my favorite! I’m also a big fan of the just natural because sometimes you don’t need flavor from a protein powder if you use different fruits in your smoothies.
Sample the Flavors
There’s nothing worse that buying a huge tub of protein powder and then realizing that you just don’t like that flavor. That has happened to me a few times! Nuzest offers the Clean Lean Starter Pack which contains a packet of each flavor (except for just natural). This was the first way i was introduced to Nuzest and it was great because it helped me make the right choice when I selected tube of the protein.
Low Calorie
Each flavor of Nuzest protein powder has less than 100 calories per serving. If you’re watching your weight, or trying to lose weight, this is fantastic! I can start off my morning with a smoothie with Nuzest protein powder, spinach and fruit and keep it under 200 calories. That’s a win-win situation in my book!
Recipes
Nuzest has some great recipes on their website. Although I have a standard smoothie recipe that I use on most days, sometimes it’s good to mix it up a little bit! Check out their recipe for Cheery Cherry Protein Sorbet – can you say yum!

Do you use protein powders? What flavors do you like? How do you incorporate it into food/drinks?
I’ve heard great things about this protein. I’ll have to try it!
it’s really yummy and doesn’t have an aftertaste!
I have been looking for a new protein powder. Is it Mealy like?
It not gritty or anything and it really blends in well, especially with smoothies.
This sounds like a great one. I’ll have to try it.
I think you’ll love it!
I love plant based protein powers. My go-tos are Vega and Sunwarrior, but I’m always looking for different varieties. This looks like a great option!
Me too! They always seem to taste better too!
I like vanilla flavored so I can blend it with other things. My favorite is blending with a little peanut butter and banana! Sooo good!
Vanilla is one of my favorite flavors too – you really can’t go wrong with it!
I use protein powder, but haven’t heard of this brand. Thanks for the review!
No problem! I hope you get to try it out and like it.
I currently have a giant tub of Orgain but I don’t even make smoothies/shakes during the summer so it’s just sitting there. When I’m ready for more, I’ll check out Nuzest!
Awesome! When you try it out, let me know what you think
The starter pack is a great idea. I would definitely like to try a flavor before committing to a tub! I have a thing against “clean” foods — that name just bugs me. 🙂
I agree, I wish more brands would offer starter packs!
I haven’t heard of this! I’ll have to look them up!
Let me know if you try them out!
Looks like a good one, I entered the giveaway. Plan-based protein powder is the only kind I’ll use.
Good luck in the giveaway!
I do use protein powder — Hammer Nutrition Recoverite & Sunwarrior are my favorites. I use them in smoothies, in yogurt, in baked goods, too. Chocolate & Vanilla all the way!
I love using protein powder in smoothies too!
A while back, I won a tub from a blogger and we just cracked it open. So far so good!
Glad that you like it so far!
I love that they offer sample packs to try! That’s such a great idea!
I agree! It’s always great when you can test sample sizes before buying the large tubs!
I like that there are so many flavors!
Thanks for linking up!
Me too! I love when protein powders come in unique flavors 🙂
I love the veggie based protein powders! I have not tried this one yet! Thanks for sharing the giveaway!
Me too! The plant based protein powders are much easier on my stomach.
Good luck in the giveaway!
I’ve tried Nuzest and really like it – just haven’t bought a full tub because of price. And also there are at least 3 protein powders in my cabinet that need to be used up!
If I ever see it on sale, I’ll be sure to post about it on the blog!
I have been using Nuzest for a few months now and declared its the only protein for me. For many of the reasons you described. I was once told whey is the only way to get the muscle gains I want to be a Fitness competitor but NO WHEY Nuzest is clean, yummy and I am happy with how I feel since going Clean and lean. Great info and post
It’s so yummy! The strawberry is my favorite because it’s not overly sweet.
