This week’s theme – Five Favorite Fall Foods (try saying that 5 times fast)! Fall is my favorite time of the year because the the leaves change colors, the temperatures are cooler, and most importantly, different foods are now in season. Here are my top 5!
1. Apples – Although I love all apples, my favorite would have to be granny smith apples. I love that I can make so many things with apples – homemade applesauce with cinnamon, healthy apple pie, etc. I also love to dice up apples and add them to my oatmeal. Apples with peanut butter make a great on-the-go snack as well. I’m hoping to go apple picking soon!
2. Cauliflower – I think that cauliflower has seen a resurgence this year, but I’ve always loved it! Cauliflower is one of those vegetables that is very versatile. The vegetable is awesome in a stir-fry or steamed. Also cauliflower can be used to make pizza crust. I haven’t tried it as pizza crust yet but I will soon!
3. Pomegranates – My mom introduced me to this wonder fruit. I can’t really describe the flavor but it’s sweet, but not too sweet. You can also add the seeds salads. It’s also a great antioxidant.
4. Tangerines – I just love this little fruit! So juicy, easy to peel and it makes a great snack. I love tangerines because they are not as messy as oranges. Tangerines can also be added to salads, or for a sweet treat, dip half a tangerine into chocolate, freeze and then enjoy!
5. Pumpkin – Of course pumpkin had to make the list! While I don’t believe that every single items needs to have a pumpkin flavor (like pasta sauce…), I do like the flavor. I’m all about pumpkin pie, pumpkin bread, pumpkin pancakes, and course, the Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte!
What are your favorite fall foods?

Pomegranates – yes! They always make me think of my childhood. When I was really young, we used to get them off our neighbor's tree and we'd make a mess but so much fun. I'll have to put that on my shopping list! My favorite fall foods are baked, roasted, and crock potted items! Happy Fall!!

I have never met anyone that had access to a pomegranate tree – that's awesome!! I love roasting veggies and I want to use my crock pot more this season! Happy (soon to be) Friday!

Great list. I'm always a huge apple fan. My 1 year old eats a whole tangerine on his own.
