Happy Friday! How is everyone doing? Just remember to take things one day at a time..that’s what I’m trying to do.
I actually debating on doing a monthly goals post because life looks so different now, but in an effort to keep some sense of normalcy, I decided to come up with goals for April.
First, let’s take a look at my goals from March:
PR the Orangtheory Fitness Dri Tri
Grade: N/A
The DriTri was cancelled due to COVID-19. It’s supposed to be rescheduled for sometime this summer.
Set aside 10 minutes daily for stretching
Grade: C
I definitely didn’t stretch daily, but I did do it a few times a week. I have a lot of room for improvement!
Focus on increasing my protein intake
Grade: B
I was pretty good about this in the beginning of the month but then things got crazy and I didn’t focus on it as much.
Here are my goals for April!
Complete two OTF challenges
The studios may be closed, but OTF is still offering challenges to help keep their members continue their fitness goals. I decided to focus on two of their challenges for April – 30 day burpee challenge and Marathon Month. For the burpee challenge I commit to doing 30 burpees a day for 30 days. There are a few different options for Marathon Month, but I’m going for the Ultra Marathon (31.1 miles) distance. These miles can be done over a month so I’m confident I can hit that mileage.
Peloton Spring Launch Challenge
Peloton hosts these challenges every season and I love to participate in them because it helps me try out different classes. For this challenge, I commit to taking at least one Peloton class per day throughout the month. This month I plan on doing a mix of strength, running, walking, meditation and cycling classes to hit that goal.
Stay connected with friends and family
Since it looks like we will be practicing social distancing for at least another 4 weeks, I want to continue to stay connected with my friends and family. I have participated in numerous video chats and I am going to make an effort to make sure that continues. I have noticed that the isolation has been getting to some of my friends and family recently (probably because we’re on week 3 or 4 of this), so it’s even more important now to stay connected.
That’s it for this month – wish me luck! Hope that you and your families continue to stay safe and healthy.
If you set monthly goals, what are your goals for April?
I’m linking up for Fridays with Fairytales and Fitness from Fairytales and Fitness.

I love those challenges! For sure you’ll get 31.1 miles done in April. Those 30 burpees would be good for me , too.
It’s great that you’re participating in many video chats with friends and family. You’re a very positive person and I think you can make a big difference in lifting their spirits!

I’m already regretting signing up for the burpee challenge this month lol
Darlene says
Great challenges.
No goals. Usually just training for races.
No races. Just running alone. Miss my friends. Last night our running group chat for 2 hours.
kookyrunner says
Hopefully we can get back to group runs this summer.
Chaitali says
That’s great that both peloton and OTF are offering at home challenges! And great job with your March goals given how crazy the month was. I think we’re all doing our best to make it by right now 🙂
kookyrunner says
I agree – it’s really going to help keep me accountable this month!
Deborah Brooks says
Way to crush the cycle miles this month too! I am also doing the challenge which nows seems even easier to achieve. I think it’s really important to set goals and stick w them right now. My friends have done the Rocky run last year and had fun. It’s on my birthday this year so maybe I will join you. It’s nice to have something to look forward to. Thanks for catching up today!

No goals here really…just going to keep moving. I have another slow home work day so I really need to do something, right? I think I”m going to sew some masks…
kookyrunner says
My main goal is just to keep moving and get at least an hour of activity daily. That’s awesome that you can sew masks. I’m going to use my Buffs that I have from races and also make some masks from a few bandanas that I have.
Laurie says
My goal is to do at least 30 minutes of fitness activity of some kind every day in April. Today is a rest day for me in running so I did Judy’s yoga stretches for runners, which was almost an hour. Even yin yoga is hard for me!
kookyrunner says
That’s a great goal for April!
Beckett @ Birchwood Pie says
I have two virtuals races for April, a 10k tomorrow and a half in a few weeks. I never thought that I would be into virtual racing but it really is a fun to be a part of something. That’s why I love these challenges so much. Happy ultra!
kookyrunner says
Virtual racing seems to be very popular right now. I love that there are so many virtual races and challenges to help keep us busy during this time.

I’m glad that you decided to set goals. It would have been a real bummer if you didn’t. It sounds like your OTF studio is so active. Mine is reaching out with emails, but I haven’t seen as much on social media — or maybe I’ve just missed it. I’m loving the Peleton App classes I’ve been doing — treadmill, strength and even a short yoga one. I really love the variety. I’m sure you will nail your goals!
kookyrunner says
My OTF doesn’t really send a lot of emails, but they are pretty active on Instagram so that’s how I stay in touch with them. I appreciate that our coaches are doing the at home workouts live on IG a few times a week – it’s a nice way to connect with them! I’m really happy that you are loving the Peloton app 🙂
The Accidental Marathoner says
Best of luck to you meeting your goals for April! Since I have to go to work, I don’t feel as isolated as many people do these days. Still, I am reaching out to others more, since I know they are stuck in place. Be healthy!
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much Linda!

Great to see you’re continuing to set monthly goals. As you said, having some sort of normalcy helps with being quarantined. I am challenging myself to do a yoga session every day of this month. I’ve turned into a big fan of Yoga with Adrien and she has a 30-day calendar with different daily sessions. Looking forward to that this month.
kookyrunner says
I love your yoga goal for the month!
Angela Campos says
It is so important to stay connected!! I am so glad we have the ability to facetime, etc. This has been a tough time for me!!
kookyrunner says
Me too! I love that we have great technology to keep us connected to our loved ones.
De Bolton says
I love that you’re goal driven like me. These are great goals considering the current times. Look forward to watching you achieve them.
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much De!
Fairytales and Fitness says
Not fitness related but my March goal was to get this new puppy potty trained and that didnt happen, so it has now become my April goal…lol. I am going to try to work on more physical fitness now that I have the time, we’ll see. #noexcuses right? -M
kookyrunner says
LoL well I think thats a great goal for April and I hope that the puppy will be fully potty trained by the end of the month!
Michelle @ Running with Attitude says
I’m right there with you on continuing to set goals – I need the accountability.
You’ve got some great challenges lined up – those 30 burpees though :0
That Rocky Run looks like a fun one!
kookyrunner says
I actually decided not to do the Rocky Run but signed up for the Love Run instead. It was supposed to be in March but has been rescheduled for October so let’s hope it actually happens!
