Happy Friday! It’s a new month and it’s time to set new goals! No matter how crazy everything gets, I always like to set monthly goals because I find that they help to keep me focused.
First, let’s take a look at my goals from July:
Complete all Peloton All for One Music Festival Classes
Grade: A
Now this was a fun goal to complete last month! I had a great time working out while listening to some of my favorite artists and some new to me artists as well.
Enjoy my staycation
Grade: B
I gave myself a B for this one because while there wasn’t too much relaxation that week, I did enjoy not having to log into work.
Get back on track
Grade: B
I would say I’m about halfway there on this one. I did a better job of taking my multivitamin and supplements but still didn’t take them daily. I just need to continue to get into a groove with that.
Here are my goals for August!
Complete Matty’s Summer Crunch Core Program
On Monday I started Matty’s Summer Crunch Core program and I like it so far! Every weekday in the month of August I will do one of Matty’s 10 minute core classes. Luckily he already picked what classes to do for each day so that takes the guess work out of it. All I have to do is bookmark the right class for each day and take the class – easy peasy! Hopefully I’ll have at least one ab to show by the end of the month, lol.
Complete longer runs
I’m training for the Back on My Feet Running Festival 10K and the Seawheeze Virtual 10K, both taking place next month. Although I have been enjoying my shorter runs (3 miles and less) mixed in with strength training for the past few months, I need to graduate to longer runs. I plan on taking at least one 45 or 60 minute run every week to get my legs used to running more miles.
Eat more plant based meals
I would love to incorporate more plant based meals into my diet. I don’t think I eat a ton of meat, but I could definitely cut back on it. Plus eating more fruits and vegetables is never a bad thing!
That’s it for this month – wish me luck!
If you set monthly goals, what are your goals for August?
I’m linking up with Darlene, Michelle, Renee, Jenn and Zenaida for Fit Five Friday!

That All For One series really kept you busy! Lots of great music certainly cannot hurt 😉 I used to do monthly goals, but somehow I got away from that. I still do monthly “challenges” on occasion…but that’s kind of become rather inconsistent as well. Your upcoming virtuals look fun!
kookyrunner says
You know how much I love music, especially during a workout! I think monthly challenges are just as good, if not better, than goals.
Coco says
I’m impressed that you did all the AFO classes. Thanks for the head’s up on Matty’s core challenge — although I proved that doing the correct one on the correct day isn’t fool-proof.
I have pretty much stopped cooking with meat, but do eat fish a few days a week. My daughter’s veganism got to me, although I still eat dairy.
kookyrunner says
We should all have abs of steel after completing Matty’s core challenge, lol.
I’m not sure I’ll ever give up meet for good – I could give up red meat but chicken would be hard!
Michelle D. says
I love that you completed all of the All for One classes! I still have a couple bookmarked that I want to take.
Great goals for August! I’m hoping for at least one ab too by the time Matty’s core challenge is done LOL
kookyrunner says
We will all leave Matty’s core challenge with abs of steel!
Marcia says
I’m in the for Seawheeze virtual 10k as well and with this muscle strain, it’s going to be a challenge to get up to 10k in a month. I’ll do what I can I guess! Nice job on your goals!
kookyrunner says
So glad that you’re also doing the virtual 10K. I hope that your muscle strain will feel much better by then.
Zenaida Arroyo says
Matty looks awesome doesn’t he? Try leaving your multivitamin and supplements next to your water bottle or something you also use every day. I also don’t eat a lot of money but could add more fruit and vegetables to my meals as well. Sounds easy but it really isn’t. 🙂
kookyrunner says
Yeah I just feel like I need to incorporate more of the “good stuff” into my diet.
Wendy says
I’m definitely getting myself back on track and eating more plant-based meals. I was doing well until my accident. But since my accident, I’ve been getting a little thicker around the waistline. Clearly, my body loves to hang on to those calories.
kookyrunner says
I just hate that the carb-heavy, “not so good for you” foods always taste delicious!
Darlene S. Cardillo says
That’s great that you are doing some. Virtual races. And all your workouts are impressive.
Just nit logging into the computer is a vacation. I took yesterday off. So lovely.
I seem to have so little time to think about meal prep. Darn back to the office.
kookyrunner says
That’s so true about not logging on to email being a vacation. It’s nice not to have to deal with that!
Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy says
Sounds like great goals, Kim! Core is always so important.
This week I had to eat a low fiber diet (due to colonoscopy on Monday) and let’s just say it’s the total opposite of how I normally eat & was a challenge! The things we do for health, LOL!
I admire people who can really relax on a staycation. I mean, you still have to cook, clean, do laundry, and walk the dog! But glad that you at least had a break from work. It’s important for your mental health!
kookyrunner says
That’s such a good point. That’s why I love any type of all-inclusive vacation, like cruises. The less I have to do, the better, lol.
Deborah Brooks says
I am doing the Seawheeze 10 K as well. I really hope to run the real race sometime. I love Vancouver. Solid goals Kim! The Matty core challenge is fun so far
kookyrunner says
Me too – I would love to run the race in person one year, although I hear it’s hard to get into via their lottery.
Janelle @ Run With No Regrets says
Great goals for the month! Whenever I want to work on my core, I never have a good workout to reference so I always skip it! Hopefully the heat won’t be too bad for your longer runs!
kookyrunner says
Core work is my least favorite so it definitely helps to have a plan to follow!
Cari says
I got nowhere with the All for One, but did love my Thomas Rhett on repeat.
I use MedSafe for my prescriptions, owuld that work for you for your vitamins & supplements?
kookyrunner says
I have all my vitamins and supplements in my room – it’s just remembering to take them that’s the issue, lol.
