Happy New Year! Today I’m recapping my Elf Run 10K virtual race. 2020 was the year of virtual races so it was fitting for me to end the year with a fun holiday themed virtual race. Also proceeds from the race went to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. I love whenever a race can give back to charity!
Ram Racing did a great job at staying in touch with runners via email. We were told when our swag kits were shipped (hat, zip up hoodie and bib). In addition we were told that there would be a delay with the medals and that those would get delivered later on in December. Considering all the issues with USPS this holiday season, this was totally understandable!
I woke up on Christmas morning excited to run the race! Unfortunately the weather didn’t feel the same way as me and it was freezing cold and pouring rain. But that’s okay! I knew the weather would be less than desirable so I recruited two other BibRavePros, Michelle and Kim, to run with my virtually that morning. Michelle and I ran on the treadmill and Kim ran outside. Although they weren’t running the race, they both wanted to get in a run on Christmas morning so it all worked out. I was thankful to have them join me!

Running virtually with friends is the best!
Running on a treadmill can get boring, but luckily I picked two Peloton running classes to keep me company. The bulk of my run was Matty’s Holiday Fun Run from 2019. He taught the entire class dressed up as the Grinch and stayed in character for the most part. It was super fun and made the time go by quickly. I ended my run with another shorter fun run with Jess Sims.

Such a fun treadmill run!
This was my longest run in quite some time and it felt great! It really got me into the Christmas spirit and I even ended up watching the movie Elf later on that night. Also, can we talk about the race swag? I’ll admit that I am a little burnt out on virtual races, but I knew I had to run this one once I saw the awesome swag! Also this is my first medal for a Christmas themed race!

I’ve already rocked the hat and zip up hoodie!
…and look at this awesome medal!
Overall, it was a very enjoyable virtual race experience and I appreciated the great communication from Ram Racing. I would definitely run another one of their races in the future.

Such cute swag! Glad you were able to get it in in spite of the weather. I had a trail 10k this weekend but sadly, it has been changed to virtual. Sigh.
Darn, I’m sorry that your race got moved to virtual 🙁
Awesome job, #KimTwin! I’m glad we were able to swing this on Christmas morning! I’m doing the Hot Chocolate Houston (virtually) later this month, also a Ram Racing event. They definitely come through with great swag 😉
I love the Hot Chocolate race swag – they always deliver!
That medal is too cute!
Thanks for inviting me to be a part of your run 🙂 Let’s plan another one soon!
Yes! We will definitely need to plan another one soon 🙂
Great job.
It is so fun running virtually.
I plan to do a 15K with KimH.
Love that you’re going to do a virtual race with Kim!
How nice that you could do this race with Kim and Michelle joining you!
And well done for doing it on the treadmill – honestly, I don’t think I could do that!
It was nice to run virtually with friends!
Congrats! That is a really nice medal! Glad you, Kim, and Michelle were able to knock it out on Xmas day!
Thanks! Yeah I really love the medal and it was fun to run virtually with them 🙂
I really missed dressing up for my normal holiday races this year! Super cute medal and great hoodie too. Congrats on the longer run
Me too! I dressed up on Thanksgiving for OTF but missed running a turkey trot 🙁
That swag is worth running for! And so glad you were joined by Kim and Michelle! I had a similar experience. Wasn’t really feeling the Christmas Spirit but running in Christmas gear on Christmas Eve helped to get me in the mood!
You can’t help but to get in the spirit once you put on Christmas clothing!
That is cute swag. The medal is the best! I don’t how how Matty was able to run that long in that costume.
Matty is just amazing!
