Happy Monday and Happy 4th of July! Today America celebrates our independence. This holiday is typically a fun day full of barbecues, parties, swimming and enjoying the weather, family and friends. Before you head out for all the fun, get in a quick workout so you can enjoy all that delicious food guilt free!
Make your own holiday race
If you don’t have a race in your city, make your own or run a virtual race! I plan on running a 5k around my neighborhood decked out in Red, White and Blue. I love getting a run done in the morning since I usually do not have the option to do that during the week.
Create a workout
Are you going to be near a pool? Engage everyone in a game of Marco Polo or swim a few laps. Going to the beach? Why not start a game of beach volleyball! Going to a cookout? Walk a few laps around the neighborhood while you wait for the food. You can always find small ways to be active!
HIIT Workouts
I’m a huge fan of HIIT workouts because you get a lot done in a little amount of time. You can get in a phenomenal workout in just 20 or 30 minutes. Here are links to a few of my favorite HIIT blog posts:
