Today is “Free Friday” so I thought I would list 5 books I plan on reading this Summer. You see, I start my training for the NYC Marathon on June 6th. I’m super-duper nervous but I know that knowledge is power so I plan on doing a lot of reading this summer and into the Fall. Some will be running based and some will focus on nutrition – I think that’s a great balance.
I’m really excited to start reading this book. I struggle A LOT with the mental aspect of running. I have a lot of self doubt about my abilities, especially when it comes to distance running. I hope this book will help me with this because I know it has a huge affect on my running.
It’s no secret that our food system is pretty out of whack, so I’m always trying to find out more about our food, where it comes from, etc. I’m looking forward to reading all about the author’s journey and research to see what makes food processed. I also recently purchased the Performance plan from InsideTracker (trying to learn all I can about my body before starting training) and I know this book, combined with their recommendations, should be a great fit.
I’ve heard that the NYC Marathon is an incredible experience. I’m sure that it’s hard to describe in words, but I’m looking forward to reading the author’s account of the race. If anything, this will get me even more excited for the race!
Well this is pretty self explanatory. I’ve got 22 weeks to figure out this whole marathon training thing and I’m pretty sure this book will help, and probably provide a few laughs.
I’m all about finding the correct foods to help me become a stronger runner, and to help me feel better overall. I’m pretty sure I probably have some food sensitivities so this book might help me identify some of those issues.
Have you read any of these books? If so, let me know in the comments!
