Happy Friday! Today I’m trying something new and linking up with Courtney from Eat Pray Run DC for her #FridayFive series. This week’s topic – Five Health Trends You Would Never Try. There are SO many different health and fitness trends and there seems like there is a new one every week. Some are great but there are some that are definitely not for me!
1. Bikram Yoga
I’m just starting to get somewhat comfortable with regular yoga, but it’s still hard for me. The idea of bikram yoga makes me nervous. I hate the heat and humidity so the thought of doing yoga poses in 104 degrees is insane to me. Also I’d be really worried about passing out!
2. Waist Training
Not only does this look extremely painful but it’s not safe! I know this is a very hot trend right now especially since celebrities are very into it, but the lasting effects are not cute. If you wear this item too often you can have bruised bones, lunch issues, etc. Sorry but the best way to get that permanent hourglass figure is through diet and exercise.
3. Juice Cleanse
I like juices and smoothies as a meal option in the morning, but I could never do a juice cleanse. The thought of going days without food, only juice, makes me sad 🙁 I just love food WAY too much!
Hmmm….I’m not quite sure what to say about this one. It’s supposed to be good for detoxing but I feel like water is good for that to, right?!
5. Mud Runs
I actually think obstacle course races (OCR) are awesome, as long as there is no mud involved. The mud just makes everything way too messy and gross – no thank you!
