Disclaimer: I received a few week subscription from GreenBlender. I was provided with ingredients to make 5 different smoothies.
Happy Friday! Has then been the longest week ever or is it just me?!
Let’s talk about smoothies. I LOVE smoothies and I drink one everyday. I usually make a green smoothie for breakfast. The recipe always changes, but I always follow this simple formula 1 scoop protein powder + 2 cups of greens + 1 cup of fruits. Every now and then I’ll also throw in chia or flax seeds for an extra healthy boost. Eventhough I often change up the fruits in my smoothie, I was kind of in a “smoothie rut”. I was looking for some new recipes and that’s when I found the GreenBlender website.
Simply put, GreenBlender is a smoothie delivery service. All of their ingredients are organic and non-GMO. They send you all the pre-portioned ingredients that you need to make the smoothies and this is something that I really appreciate. Have you ever purchased something for a recipe and you only need to use a small amount so the rest of the item goes to waste? That’s so annoying!
GreenBlender offers a few plans that all offer free shipping:
Fresh Start Plan – $49 per box; week-to-week subscription
Monthly Challenge – $44 per box; four box subscription
Healthy Habit – $39 per box; 12 box subscription
Here were my smoothies for the week:
Ingredients -zucchini, honeydew, grapes, moringa, flaxseed, ice, water
I enjoyed this smoothie for breakfast one morning and it was great. I have never used zucchini in a smoothie before so I was pleasantly surprised. The grapes and honeydew added a kick of sweetness as well.
Ingredients – swiss chard, pear, pineapple, kumquats, hemp seeds, water and ice
Okay I have to admit that I have never heard of kumquats, so I was a little skeptical about the recipe, lol. Kumquats look like cute miniature oranges. This was actually my least favorite smoothie that I tried only because I found it to be a little too sweet. I think I would add another vegetable or remove the pineapple to make it less sweet.
Ingredients – beet, sumo citrus, lemon, ginger, rose hips, white mulberries, water, ice
This was my absolute favorite! I drink beet juice so I love beets, but have never tried them in a smoothie. I also think that the lemon and ginger really enhanced the flavor of the smoothie. I drank this smoothie after a hard run and it was very refreshing!
Chocolate Chip Banana Bread Smoothie
Ingredients – baby spinach, bananas, rolled oats, cacao nibs, walnuts, cinnamon, nutmeg, water, ice
This smoothie was a treat! I’ve never added oats or walmuts to a smoothie so I was curious to see how it would change the smoothie, but it didn’t affect the taste at all! Also anytime you can had cacao nibs to a smoothie, it’s a godo thing! The only thing I didn’t like was the fact that the smoothie called for 2 bananas. I’m trying to watch my sugar intake so I would have like the smoothie to only call for 1/2 a banana, or one banana.
Ingredients – baby kale, apple, blackberries, apple sauce, apple pie spice, pea protein, vanilla almond milk, ice
This was my second favorite smoothies. Adding applesauce to a smoothie? Who knew! I also loved the addition of protein powder and apple pie spice. When I was drinking this smoothie it legit tasted like a yummy dessert.

I love and adore smoothies, and could probably exist on those for breakfast in the summer. (Or all year round if I lived in a place that didn’t get cold…) GreenBlender sounds awesome!
I hope you’re having an awesome weekend!

I forgot to cancel my subscription and ended up with another week of fruits. I cannot remember the name of it but my favorite one was the one with beets. Who would have thought? They’re messy but yummy in smoothies.

Exactly – beets are so messy but also so yummy!
