Happy Friday! Today I want to tell you about two very cool companies that provide unique items for runners – Project Repat and Bibs2Bags!
First up – Project Repat!
I first heard about this company early last year through a random Google search. I knew that my race t-shirt collection was getting out of control. I didn’t want to donate the shirts because they meant a lot to me, but I also didn’t want to dedicate an entire drawer to race shirts.
Project Repat turns your t-shirts into awesome quilts. What I love is the entire recycling aspect of this company. I found this cool graphic on their website:
You have five size options for your quilt:
- Lap – 16 panels
- Twin – 24 panels
- Full – 30 panels
- Queen – 49 panels
- King – 64 panels

So this is pretty much the coolest thing ever. I haven't done a ton of races myself yet, but I know that I won't keep any of the shirts to actually wear. I don't like the size, shape, style and pretty much everything about race shirts; I can't help it. I also really don't like keeping a bunch of clothing I don't want to wear or that I have no use for. My A.D.D. means I need to stay uber organized, and having a pile of race shirts won't help that.
On the other side, from a sentimental stand point I like the idea of keeping them somehow. Transforming them into something else besides a t-shirt sounds perfect!

I totally understand! I like to stay very organized and I hated looking at a lil of unused race shirts. I hope you'll consider making a t-shirt quilt once you have enough shirts!

I will start saving my shirts just for the quilt.

It is such a creative way to re-use the race shirts. I'm already collecting shirts for ny next quilt 🙂
