As seen in Prevention Magazine – October Issue |
When I came across this article in the October edition of Prevention magazine, I just knew I had to blog about it. I mean seriously…who doesn’t want to look younger?! (…and yes, this applies to both men and women). For me it’s more about looking healthy vs. looking younger.
So how does running make you look younger? Let’s discuss.
1. Get your glow back
I totally believe this! Not only do I feel better after a good run, but I look better too. I have more energy which results in more smiling, feeling happy, etc. If you feel happy, that’s going to radiate through your skin.
2. Strengthen bones
This was a complete shock to me. I knew running was good for your cardiovascular system, but had no clue that it could help strengthen your bones. Running may be a good way to prevent osteoporosis.
3. Outsmart disease
I think this is one of the better known benefits of running. Running is a great stress reliever for me and it helps me keep my weight consistent – give or take 5 pounds around the holidays 🙂 Running is also a great way to boost your immune system and lower high blood pressure and cholesterol. I’ve noticed that I now get fewer colds in the winter and I attribute that to a better immune system. Being a runner also helps me to eat healthier as well. Eating well helps to fuel my workouts and runs throughout the week, but I do allow myself to have cheat meals. You can’t be perfect 100% of the time!

Thank you so much. I really appreciate your kind words. It's hard to get a blog off the ground so it's nice to know that people read my blog posts!

It takes time and can be very frustrating at times and sometimes you ask yourself why you do it. But as long as you stay true to your purpose, people will see that and follow. Smetimes I have convinced myself I am a little (a lot) crazy for doing this!
