Happy Friday! Can you believe it’s the first Friday of 2020? I don’t know about you but I’m always super excited for the beginning of a new year. To me, it’s just a clean slate for a fresh new start. I’m hitting the ground running with my goals for January – check them out!
First, let’s take a look at my goals from December:
Re-adjust my workout schedule
I did a much better job at getting in more variety in my workouts last month by scaling back OTF to 3-4 times a week vs 5 times a week. I still have some tweaking to do but I definitely feel like I’m on the right track!
Bring some holiday cheer to my office
I’m giving myself an A for this even though I don’t think many people in my office cared, lol. Hey, you can’t please everyone!
Do a pantry/freezer challenge
Well I was doing pretty well until the holidays hit. I’ll probably just continue whee I left off in January.
Here are my goals for January!
Daily core workouts
One of my goals for 2020 is to complete a monthly challenge every month. My monthly challenge for January will be to get in at least a 5 minute core workout daily. I know that having a strong core will help me with everything – strength training, running, posture, etc. I need to do more core work and I’m hoping this will help me develop a habit of doing it more often. I’ll be using the core workouts on the Peloton app.
Make healthier food choices
I over indulged over the holidays and I have absolutely no regrets. The holidays come around once a year and I take full advantage 🙂 That being said, it’s time to get back on track and make smarter choices. To help me jumpstart this, I re-joined WW (formerly Weight Watchers). This has helped me in the past and I know that it can be used as a stepping stone to make healthier/smarter food choices. Also the program now offers 3 different plans (you take a survey to decided the best fit for you) so I feel like it will fit my active/busy lifestyle.

No Spend January
I think my wallet will very much appreciate this goal! This month I’m planning on only spending money on groceries and that’s it. No clothing, eating out, etc. It’s always nice to tighten up the budget, especially after a month full of spending for the holidays.
That’s it for this month – wish me luck!
If you set monthly goals, what are your goals for January?
