Happy Friday! Well this is it, the last runfessions post of 2018! It’s been a crazy but fun-filled year and I’m excited to see what’s in store for 2019!
As usual, since it’s the last Friday of the month, I’m linking up with Marcia from Marcia’s Healthy Slice for Runfessions. Let’s get started!
I runfess that Santa was good to me this Christmas
Santa delivered some great goodies to me this year, including a new pair of sneakers and a weighted blanket. I’m a horrible sleeper so I’m hoping that the weighted blanket will help with that. I also can’t wait to take my new sneakers out for a test run. Keeping my fingers crossed that these will work for me, especially for distance runs!
I runfess that I went a little overboard with the holiday goodies this year
I definitely over indulged this holiday, but guess what, that’s okay! I wasn’t going to restrict myself and not enjoy all the delicious dinners and sweet treats. The holiday season only comes around once a year and we should make sure that we enjoy it! I have every intention on getting back on track starting next week.

I’ve seen this posted a few times on social media and couldn’t agree more!
I runfess that I’m excited to co-host a new link-up in 2019
As you know, the Tuesdays on the Run link up has been retired. My friend Zenaida contacted me to ask if I’d like to help co-host a new link up on Tuesdays and of course I agreed! I haven’t co-hosted a link up in a while so this will be fun. The new link up will be called Tuesday Topics and will start on January 8th! We’ll have different running/fitness related topics each week. We hope that you will join us!
Also, a HUGE thank you to Marcia, Erika and Patty for hosting the Tuesdays on the Run link up for so long. It was one of my favorite link ups and it helped me to discover a lot of awesome blogs!
I runfess that I’m excited to be a part of some awesome ambassador programs next year
2019 will be my first year ad a BibRave Pro and I honestly cannot wait. I’ve had a chance to speak to many BRPs and they have all been so friendly and welcoming. I see a great year of races and trying out new products through this ambassador program.
I’ll also be back for my fifth year as a Pro Compression ambassador. I swear by their socks for all of my workouts and recovery and love spreading the word about how they have helped me throughout my running journey.
I runfess that I’m looking forward to the start of a new year
There’s just something about the start of a new year that gives me a lot of hope and excitement for the future. Although you can make a fresh start at any time, it’s always nice to use January as a month to think about everything that you want to achieve for the year.
That’s it for this month – thanks for reading my runfessions! I hope that you have a great weekend and Happy New Year!
I’m also linking up for Friday Five 2.0 with Lacey and Meranda from Fairytales and Fitness.
Do you have anything you want to runfess for December?
i also agree with that quote on eating– its the habits that matter, not the holidays — ooh, maybe I should make a meme and pin that. 😉
I’m interested in your new link-up. I don’t usually publish on Tuesdays, but maybe I can make it work.
I really hope our (running) paths cross this year!
It’s such a good quote right? I always try to keep it in mind when I’m reaching for that extra piece of pie, LOL
I really hope to see you at a race in 2019!
Thank you for taking on the Tuesday LinkUp! I’m looking forward to your and Zenaida’s take on it!
Happy New Year, Kim!
Thanks! We’re looking forward to it! Wishing you a Happy New Year Wendy!
I feel like my indulgences this season have been tame and yet my body tells me otherwise. Haha! Cheers to the new linkup! I’m glad you guys are carrying on the torch!
LOL! I haven’t stepped on a scale and I’m not planning to until next week. The number will probably scare me, haha
Thank you for allowing us to continue the Tuesday linkup!
I got a weighted blanket last year and it is sooooo comforting. I can’t say it helps me sleep (that was the goal) but I realized I have bigger sleep issues than a blanket can fix! Though I do know they work for a lot of people so I am crossing my fingers for you!
Thanks Megan! I’ve used it for 2 nights and I don’t need a difference just yet but I’ve been told it takes about 2 weeks for the body to get used to it.
Ooh, I keep hearing about weighted blankets. I look forward to hearing about it and if it helps you sleep better!
I’m on night 2 and it still feels really weird but I’ve heard that my body will get used to it after about 2 weeks.
I am SO excited that you’ve joined the BRPs! We’re going to have an awesome year!
Thank Mer! I’m so looking forward to being a part of the team!!
Sounds like you have a fun 2019 ahead. Have fun with the link up! I look forward to some fresh topics.
Yes some good things to look forward to in 2019 for sure!
Welcome to the BibRave Family!! Hopefully we will do a few races together. Happy you agreed to do this linkup with me. Excited about it too.
Yes I hope to see you in Michigan and Delaware!
Congrats on your ambassadorships! I have enjoyed some goodies, but felt I also did a pretty good job of making good choices but ugh. Still not where I want to be. #thestruggleisrealalways
Can’t wait to hear about the weighted blanket — I’ve heard good things about that!
Thank you for picking up where TOTR left off.
Yup, it’s always a struggle, that’s for sure! I just need to keep pushing myself to make better choices!
Yay…. the Tuesday link-up continues 😉 Thanks for taking that on with Zenaida, much appreciated! I’m looking forward to another year of following you (and Mom) on all your running adventures 🙂
No problem! We’re excited to keep the link up going. It’s been one of my favorite link ups over the years.
I forgot to ask but which shoes did you get? Also, I bought a weighted blanket for me and it is something new to get used to. So far I like it.
I got the Brooks Ravenna sneakers. I’ll be taking them out for a test run tomorrow.
I’ve used the weighted blanket for 2 nights so far but haven’t seen much of a difference yet.
Looking forward to the new Tuesday Topics link up. I too have discovered some great blogs with these link ups. Love the quote…I may use it too.
That quote has been my motto this holiday season, lol
Curious to see if yo like the weighted blanket.
Thanks for hosting the new link-up.
I hope that the weighted blanket helps with my sleep!
Ooo I’m very curious to hear if you think the weighted blanket makes a difference – my sleeping has been horrendous lately!
Great to hear that you and Zenaida are taking over the Tuesday link-up – Looking forward to joining in!
I’ll probably do a blog post about it after I’ve use it for a month and let you know the results!
I want a weighted blanket! I have trouble sleeping
They seem pretty cool. Fingers crossed that it helps with sleep!
I have been hearing about those weights blankets all season on a radio show I listen to. Cant wait for a review!
Same! I kept hearing about them on TV and the radio so I figured it couldn’t hurt to try it out!
Glad Santa was good to you. I’ll be following along and try to join your new link ups! I will also be starting with Bib Rave Pro this year! Super excited to be team orange
Thanks! I hope you’re able to join the new link up next year!
So cool that we’ll both be new BRPs next year! 🙂
Sounds like a good year! I am looking forward to checking out your new link-up too!!
Thanks so much Angela!
I’ve been hearing good things about the weighted blanket–I hope it helps you! Yay for new shoes too! I’ll have to check out your new linkup as well!
Thanks Farrah!
Ohh, I have wanted a weighted blanket for a while. I hope it helps you sleep better!
That quote is SO good!
Yay for fun ambassadorships!
Cheers to 2019!
Thanks Esther! I am hoping that it will help me sleep better 🙂
Yay, looking forward to the new Tuesdays linkup
I love that quote – probably my second favorite to “If you’re tired of starting over, quit giving up”
Congrats on the ambassadorships
I usually use Janelle’s BRP codes, but happy to share the love and use yours too
I love that quote too! I always have to remember that when I feel like quitting.
