Happy Friday! As usual, since it’s the last Friday of the month, I’m linking up with Marcia from Marcia’s Healthy Slice for Runfessions. I can’t believe this is the first runfessions of 2021. Let’s get this party started!
I runfess that I enjoyed the new OTF Lift 45 Class
Granted, I was sore for a few days after I tried the class on Tuesday, but I really enjoyed it. I love strength training so I was instantly intrigued when my studio first advertised these classes earlier this month. Unfortunately the times of the classes didn’t really work with my schedule but I had a weird workday this week which allowed for a late afternoon class. These classes solely focus on the weight floor – there’s no rowing or treadmill blocks. If scheduling allows I could see myself doing this class once a week as it’s a great way to mix things up.
I runfess that I’m surprised I enjoyed Bridgerton
I usually don’t like any shows set in this era but I kept hearing from numerous people how much they enjoyed the series. The first episode was pretty slow but it got much better after that. All of the characters had really interesting stories which made it fun to follow along. I actually finished the series in 8 days and can’t wait for season 2!
I runfess that I’m ready to tackle more organization projects around the house
When lockdown started last March, I really thought I would do a ton of home improvement projects. I did a few and then stopped. No real reason behind why I stopped – I just didn’t want to do them, lol. This month I’ve felt a bit more inspired to organize more areas of the house so I plan on capitalizing on that energy. Maybe I’ll tackle the linen closet this weekend…
I runfess that I may start doing daily meditations
I did short 5-10 minute night meditations for a few weeks last year but then I stopped. This week I’ve started to get back into nightly meditations and I realize how much I enjoy them. I think I’m going to aim to do one meditation each day – and may even start off a few mornings with a meditation to make myself feel calm before starting my workout or the workday.
That’s it for this month – thanks for reading my runfessions! I hope that you have a great weekend!
Do you have anything you want to runfess for January?
I’m also linking up with Darlene, Michelle, Renee, Jenn and Zenaida for Fit Five Friday!
Marcia says
I runfess we turned off Bridgerton not even halfway through the first episode. Maybe we should give it another chance since it seems to be all the rage. That Lift class sounds fun! Thanks for linking!
kookyrunner says
The first episode was very slow but it did pick up so give it another try!
Darlene says
Exactly what Marcia said about Bridgerton. Maybe I should try again. Just finished tiny little things.
Not a mediation person. At all. But good luck.
And yes. Lots of undone projects. But if I have time I go outside.
kookyrunner says
Definitely give it another chance – the first episode was very slow but it got better!
Coco says
My husband now judges all “period” shows against Pride and Prejudice and Zombies — if you haven’t seen it, check it out. I would enjoy 45 min strength classes too! Just don’t make me spend 45 min on the rower. 🙂
kookyrunner says
I’ve never seen Pride and Prejudice and Zombies – sounds interesting!
Kimberly Hatting says
We’ve seen maybe three episodes of Bridgerton. I loved it, the hubby not so much. Then we got sidetracked with The Unicorn and Cobra Kai (and I’m rocking Grace and Frankie when I’m on my own). I need to return to Bridgerton, I loved all the elaborate costumes!
kookyrunner says
The costumes were pretty cool on that show! I know that I could never have survived living in that era – not enough sweatpants, lol.
Renée @runlaugheatpie says
I runfess that we plowed through The Crown, then The Frankenstein Chronicles and can therefore not even start Bridgerton because I need something set more in modern day (but not modern-modern because that’s a shi*tshow LOL). Currently watching Sherlock Holmes (which is not new but we started it long ago and never finished. My choice was Sherlock or Peaky Bliinders – more period drama – so I chose the former).
I also runfess that I really miss the gym. I love strength training too but am really not that motivated to do it at home. I am trying, so there’s that.
kookyrunner says
As long as you’re trying to do strength training at home, that’s all that matters!
Deborah Brooks says
I was surprised that I loved Bridgerton as well. It got better as it went along. I know have nothing to watch again! That OTF class sounds good. I like a day of only strength sometimes. Good luck with the meditations!
kookyrunner says
I also need a new series to watch on Netflix! I may do some searching for a new show to watch this weekend.
Lisa @ Mile by Mile says
I have been thinking that it would be good to work on meditation, but I find it so hard! I did it a few years ago every day for a month or so. It took a lot of willpower to keep up with it for that long!
kookyrunner says
I found it hard at first so I started off with 5 minutes and got used to that and then moved on to 10 minute meditations. It’s all about the baby steps!
Laurie says
Your Lift class sounds awesome. I haven’t gone back to the gym since they closed before Christmas, but they are open again. I might have to go try a Body Pump class next week. Thanks for the inspiration! I have started doing just a 5-minute meditation right before bed. I find it helps to tie it to another habit, so I brush my teeth, get my jammies on, and meditate. I like it!
kookyrunner says
I really like the Lift 45 class and took another one today! Sometimes I need a break from the cardio stuff and I really enjoy strength training so it’s win win for me.
Michelle @ Running with Attitude says
I’m not a fan of shows set in that period either but I keep hearing people talk about Bridgerton. If I try it out at least I know the first episode will take a little to get through 🙂
That Lift class sounds so good – there are times I really miss OTF!
And yay for meditation! You know I’m a believer! Especially to get my day started.
kookyrunner says
Definitely try to watch it, but remember it doesn’t get good until episode 2!
Wendy says
Everyone I know has fallen for Bridgestone. Especially the Duke! Did you know they had an intimacy coordinator for the love scenes. Could have used a little of that gift pack I featured on my post, just saying…
kookyrunner says
OMG the Duke! He is so yummy 🙂 I heard about the intimacy coordinator and it made sense to me after watching those love scenes!
fairytales and fitness says
I too have heard a lot of people like Bridgerton! I have not watched it though, but then again I am usually late on watching every new big hit….lol However, I have been all about the home organization lately! Have a good weekend!
kookyrunner says
I’m usually late on shows too – I just watched Schitt’s Creek last year, lol.
Zenaida Arroyo says
I just started watching “Schitt’s Creek” and have been enjoying it. It is so funny! I will check out “Bridgerton” as well.
kookyrunner says
That was such an excellent show! It’s rare for me to find a show where I love all the characters but that one did it for me. And it’s so well written too.
Debbie says
I was so gung ho when things first shut down to organize, clean, etc. I’m glad to see I’m not the only one who didn’t actually get it done. Now I need to follow in your footsteps and get back at it!
kookyrunner says
I had big lofty goals in the beginning, but now I know it was better to start off small, lol. I did 3 small organization projects this weekend which made me feel good.
Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy says
I thought Bridgerton was ok. I’m not sure I would’ve watched it if I hadn’t been sick & I needed to rest more. However I’ve found my next Netflix project. 🙂 Glad you enjoyed it!
I go hot & cold with reorgs/decluttering. Mr. Judy & I never seem to be in sync with that. Right now most definitely not doing it! Winter is the perfect time, but I really struggle with SAD & rarely have the enrgy.
Good for you for giving meditation another shot! Especially in the morning. That can really make such a difference in your day — you don’t have to sit for 20 minutes to feel that difference!
kookyrunner says
I found that with meditation I needed to start off small and work my way up from there. I started with 5 min classes and now I’m up to 10 minute classes – baby steps 🙂
Jenn says
I have not started Bridgerton. On the one hand, I’m intrigued. On the other, if it’s too light and fluffy, I’m going to be mad LOL! I’m just no fun.
kookyrunner says
It’s definitely not a comedy but I don’t think it would be considered a drama – it’s probably in-between both!
