Happy Friday! As usual, since it’s the last Friday of the month, I’m linking up with Marcia from Marcia’s Healthy Slice for Runfessions. Let’s get this party started!
I runfess that the Thanksgiving holiday was good for my soul
It was very nice to not only have the week off work, but also to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday. It was nice to slow down and be present without worrying about 100 other things. I also reduced my social media usage and watched less of the news which I know did wonders for my mental health. I feel like the holiday was an awesome reset.

Thankful for health, family and fitness this year!
I runfess that I need some Christmas holiday cheer
How is Christmas less than a month away? That is just insane to me! i’m really not in the Christmas spirit, but I’m hoping that decorating the house this weekend will help with that. I’ve started to do some holiday shopping but everything just still feels so weird.

I don’t want to be the Grinch for Christmas!
I runfess that I’m debating freezing my OTF membership
Although I’m thrilled that all of the classes are now mask required due to a new state mandate, I’m concerned about the increase in Covid cases in Connecticut. The positivity rate here decreased by a small percentage this week, which is great, but I think the number of cases will increase again after the Thanksgiving holiday. I’m going to be monitoring the situation closely for the next 2 weeks before making a decision.
I runfess that I’m impressed with the “Black Friday” deals
It seems like most retailers started their Black Friday sales early this year. I’ve browsed a few of the ads online and there are really some great deals out there this year! I’m not planning on doing a lot of shopping this year but I saw so many deals for clothing, food items, electronics and video games.
That’s it for this month – thanks for reading my runfessions! I hope that you have a great weekend!
Do you have anything you want to runfess for November?
Glad the week off helped you relax.
Love your thanksgiving outfits.
I get the lack of spirit. I don’t feel like decorating but maybe if I do it’ll feel more normal.
Our cases are still rising. Ugh.
Yeah I’m hoping that if I start decorating it will make me get in the spirit faster.
Iowa had a huge spike this past month (after being pretty low-key, in comparison to the national average, for so long). Like you, I think it’s probably going to rebound and climb again after this weekend. ((sigh)) I’ll be decorating as well this weekend, but don’t have much for gifts to buy this year (everyone wants gift cards). Glad you had a nice week! I avoid the news as much as possible, and if I stay away from Facebook, my eye-rolling is kept to the minimum.
I’ve read about the numbers in the midwest and it’s so scary 🙁 I hope that your decorating goes well this weekend!
I don’t blame you for wanting to freeze your OTF. It seems like Covid is closing in on everyone right now. We had a brief decline but now we’ve ticked back up too. Ugh. I’m not prepared for any holiday shopping yet (except for myself). So not prepared! Thanks for linking!
Yeah it’s just concerning to me and I almost feel like I’m in limbo waiting for the next shoe to drop (increase in cases).
I purchased a few things online this morning, but that’s the extent of my holiday shopping so far, lol.
I am so glad that you had some time off this week to refresh and rest. Does wonders! You and your mom look so cute (as usual) Happy Thanksgiving to you all! I understand your concern about OTF but not sure what to say. Have a great weekend!
Thanks and I hope you had a great Thanksgiving holiday 🙂
I runfess that Brooks Launch are on sale for a steal but I just don’t need any more shoes right now so I am reluctantly going to pass. I don’t know what the “right” answer is for OTF but it seems to me that if masks are required that the only people who are going to show up are the ones that take mask wearing seriously to start with, which increases the safety. On the other hand, no harm in staying away since it won’t be too much longer before the vaccines start rolling out.
I wish the Brooks Adrenaline would go on sale – fingers crossed!
Sounds like the time off did you a world of good!
I love the t-shirts and masks you and your mom are wearing 🙂
The numbers here have been climbing too and many believe our gyms are going to shut down again. I don’t blame you for considering the freeze – you can always go back.
Thanks! I actually got the masks from Etsy.
I think that the gyms in NYC will probably close down soon. If that happens, I know we won’t be far behind unfortunately.
Ha! I had to reduce my social media usage and news watching too. It has only been about the past week or 2 that I felt “safe” to not be constantly be checking the news for updates on the crazy election!
I think gyms in PA are going to shut down too. I must confess, members of my rec center are not as safe as I would like. I have started attending Body Pump virtual classes in the middle of the afternoon, since I know I will be the only one present.
It’s amazing what reduced social media time can do to help ease anxiety!
That’s a shame about the members of the rec center not being as safe as possible. I wish that people could understand that personal responsibility is one of the many ways we can fight the virus. We all know what needs to be done so we just need to do it – like wearing a mask properly for starters.
I usually don’t watch a lot of news. It truly does a body good! I read articles on NPR online, and see some news — and there’s always someone that’ll tell you about it!
I do think there’s going to be a large surge in a couple of weeks. I hope I’m wrong.
Hope you find your Christmas spirit, Kim! Knowing you, I’m sure you will. You’re always so upbeat.
I was alarmed to see how packed the airports were during travel over the Thanksgiving holiday. I think a surge in cases is definitely coming 🙁
Love your Thanksgiving outfits! I had to work 1/2 day today, but still had a chill day –sleeping in, starting work late and quitting early. I don’t usually decorate for Christmas this early, but I may make some Christmas cookies once the Thanksgiving pies are gone.
Church is going back on-line now that the weather is too unpredictable for outdoor worship, so that’s one less activity I’ll be doing.
Christmas cookies sound yummy! That’s definitely one way to get into the spirit.
It’s great that your church was able to offer outdoor workship during the Summer/Fall.
I wouldn’t feel comfortable going to a gym with or without a mask.
There are definitely some good deals this year.
Yes I saw a lot of deals on electronics on Black Friday.
I don’t blame you about freezing your OTF membership. I would be nervous being so close to other people inside, even with masks. I don’t know. Who knows what the right course of action is?
I feel so much better now that we have started decorating. It helps so much.
Agreed – it’s just so hard to make the right decision. I want to be safe and definitely don’t want to take any risks.
I also felt better after decorating over the weekend.
