Happy Friday. I hope that everyone had a great week and if you have today off from work, enjoy! Another month has come to an end. June went by very quickly, so I’m holding out hope that the second half of the year might go by faster than than the first half of the year? I guess we’ll just have to wait and see!
Okay, let’s discuss monthly goals!
First, let’s take a look at my goals from June:
Earn Gold for the Peloton June Activity, Cycling and Running Challenges
Grade:A+
Happy to report that I met all of these goals last week. Here were my totals for the month:
-June Activity Challenge: Completed 30 days (needed 15 for Gold)
-June Cycling Challenge: Completed 194.2 miles (needed 150 miles)
-June Running Challenge: Completed 52.4 miles (needed 40 miles)
Daily Stretching and Foam Rolling
Grade:B
I was really good about the daily stretching but not so much about the foam rolling. My foam roller and I have a very rocky relationship, lol.
Complete a home project
Grade:A
Earlier in the month I gave the kitchen a deep clean and organized all of the cabinets. It’s AMAZING the crap you find when start digging deep in the back of cabinets. I found small appliances that we either no longer needed (I donated those) or that didn’t work (those got trashed). We now have so much more cabinet space which is great since our kitchen is small.
Here are my goals for July!
Plan out workout schedule for the week
Every since the Stay at Home order was initiated, I plan my workouts the day before. Now that OTF is re-opened and I plan to go 3x a week, I’ll need to plan out my workouts for the week on Sunday night. I want to make sure that I still have a good mix of strength training, cycling and running.
Complete the Summer Launch Challenge
Peloton offers these challenges for each of the 4 seasons. As long as I take a Peloton class every day in July, I’ll earn the badge for this challenge. This challenge will encourage to do extra stretching, meditation or yoga classes on the days I don’t do a Peloton run or cycle class.
Complete the Quad-City Times Virtual Bix7
A few weeks ago, Kim asked me if I would be interested in running the Virtual Bix7 race and I jumped at the chance. I have from July 1-25 to run the 7 mile virtual race. There are a bunch of other bloggers running it as well so hopefully we can all coordinate and pick one weekend to complete the race. I also just got the race swag in the mail a few days ago 🙂
That’s it for this month – wish me luck!
If you set monthly goals, what are your goals for July?
I’m linking up for Fridays with Fairytales and Fitness from Fairytales and Fitness.
No real goals – just get out 3 times a day for a walk or run or hike so I can finish 1000k by Aug 31.
Still debating on another virtual Bix7??? FOMO but really am sick of virtuals.
I so need to clean out my kitchen!!!!!
You are rocking the Peleton. I would use it if I had some equipment indoors like a bike or treadmill. Can’t afford the data to use on the run or walk.
The Bix7 was appealing to me since Kim is an ambassador and a bunch of other fitness bloggers are doing it too 🙂
You crushed your June goals – well done!
I’m still figuring out my goals for this month – I wish I had seen the Peloton one earlier, but now I’ve already missed a day 🙁
Happy July! (Let’s hope it behaves itself!)
Yes, let’s hope July is nice to us!
Way to go on the kitchen cleaning. Doesn’t that feel good? I did my cabinets earlier this summer too. You crushed your Peloton goals too. Way to go! I think I am kind of done with virtual races for now. there are starting to be some real in=person races in our state. The races are tiny and social distancing is practiced so that only a few people start at a time. Masks are required before and after you run but not during the race. I think I might give one of these races a try.
I don’t think we will have any in-person races in my city this year. I am kind of over the virtual races too, but the Bix7 was appealing to me since so many fitness bloggers are doing it too 🙂
Sounds like a good idea to plan out your workouts. I like going into the week with an idea of what I will do each day, even if it changes slightly. Lately I’ve been doing a similar routine each week and its nice to have that consistency.
Yup, totally agree. And once I see everything planned out, I can see if I’m lacking in one thing or doing too much in another.
You’ve really accomplished a lot in June! I always feel so accomplished when I get a room cleaned or a closet sorted out!
Me too! I also love being able to see everything I have once everything is cleaned and organized!
You’ve got great goals as usual. I may try for a Peloton streak in July — doing a short core, yoga or stretch program at the end of the day would help me recover from all my computer time.
My husband found a leaking can of pears in the cabinet — how old did they have to be for that to happen???
A July Peloton streak sounds great! I haven’t been doing the core or stretch classes as often as I should so thanks for the reminder about that!
Ah, the foam roller!
I have a rocky relationship, too. I now leave the roller lying around near my desk. Whenever I feel like it, I just plunge to the floor and do a short session.
Somehow this works!
I know I need to use my foam roller more often, but I often just look at it and say “I’ll do it tomorrow” and of course that doesn’t happen either lol.
I love the Peloton challenges that have me doing at least 1 class per day. I was doing really well with the 100 miles/month until I started riding outside once a week. Agreed it is amazing how much you can find in kitchen drawers! I found a waffle maker I had no idea I had the other day. Now of course, I am craving waffles :). Looking forward to watching you crush your goals!
I love the Peloton challenges too! I don’t think I’ll aim for the “gold” level or the running/cycling challenges this month as I’m back at OTF.
I have had two 100 mile months in a row so I’d sort of like to continue that in July, might be achieveable as I’ve just done a 13.1 today. I’m doing a virtual race tomorrow – you start at Sarehole Mill (out of Lord of the Rings!) and do 5k then pick up a cool medal from the mill shop! I must remember to take a mask with me for going in the shop, though!
Have a good July with a nice lot of rest and chilling with the Peleton as well as all the cycling madly!
You’ve been doing a great job with your monthly mileage – way to go!
Well done on June goals! I’m still so impressed with your commitment to your Peloton workouts. They’re so great at keeping things fresh and exciting. I am this close to pulling the trigger on the Bix. Peer pressure and all, haha! I’ll be hard pressed to bang out 7 miles.
I agree – they have been really good about offering new content even in the midst of the pandemic.
You should join us for the Bix7!
