Happy Friday. Another long, crazy week is almost over. I don’t know about you but I would love just one week of easiness and normalcy, but it doesn’t seem like that is going to happen anytime soon. One thing that has been consistent for me is setting goals. I know setting goals during this time may seem trivial, but they help me to focus on something else besides work and the news.
First, let’s take a look at my goals from May:
Complete Peloton May Activity Challenge
Grade:A
I actually completed this goal and a few more last month. One positive thing that has come from staying home is that I have really utilized the Peloton bike and app for a bunch of different classes. I find the classes to be both challenging and fun, and because there are so many instructors/classes to choose from, I never get bored!
Finish a Book
Grade:F
Yeah, I literally forgot about this goal. In my defense, May was a pretty hectic month. While I didn’t finish a book, I did deep clean and organize my kitchen last weekend so that has to count for something, right?
Re-start Meatless Mondays
Grade:A
This was a huge success last month. Even better, my mom wants to do it with me now as well!! We will most likely make this a permanent thing. Thanks to Deborah for all of her yummy recipes – I cooked a few last month 🙂
Here are my goals for June!
Earn Gold for the Peloton June Activity, Cycling and Running Challenges
The Peloton challenges really help to keep me accountable with my workouts. To earn Gold status for these challenges I’ll have to workout 15 days or more, cycle a minimum of 150 miles and run a minimum of 40 miles. I was able to do complete this “trifecta” in May, so let’s see if I can do it again this month!
Daily Stretching and Foam Rolling
I honestly should be doing this anyway so it will be good to start off this new habit as a goal for June. I haven’t seen my ART doctor since March so I’m severely overdue for an adjustment among other things. My body doesn’t feel sore but it definitely feels super tight so I hope that the stretching and foam rolling will help!
Complete a home project
As I mentioned earlier, last Saturday I spent a lot of time in the kitchen cleaning and organizing items. This was something I’ve wanted to do for weeks so I’m glad that it was finally accomplished. This month I’d like to complete another “home project” – possibly re-organizing things in the basement or linen closets. Now is the perfect time to do these tasks since I’m home all weekend anyway.
That’s it for this month – wish me luck!
If you set monthly goals, what are your goals for June?
I’m linking up for Fridays with Fairytales and Fitness from Fairytales and Fitness.

Good luck with your goals! I’m chasing my ultra–i started training this week. Will the race take place, tho?
kookyrunner says
I do hope that you get to do your ultra race this Fall!
Marcia says
I admire the way you set goals and chase them! I runfess I haven’t read a book in awhile. I downloaded two to my Kindle and started the first one but it didn’t draw me in. I’m so distracted by everything lately.
kookyrunner says
Same here! I tend to get distracted by so many things so it makes it hard for me to sit down and focus on a book.
Catrina says
Ah, goals are never trivial!
Well done on getting the Peloton May Challenges! You will no doubt succeed for the June challenges too.
My daily stretching and foam rolling has got better, but I need to improve it further. I think the older I get, the more necessary it has become.
Good luck with June!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Catrina! Yeah I really need to be much better about stretching and foam rolling. I feel like my body is one big knot lately 🙁
Erica @ erica finds says
I’m good at setting goals and (mostly) keeping them but I haven’t held myself accountable like you are… It’s nice to have personal wellness and growth goals in such turbulent times that’s for sure. Good luck with June! One tip – I’ve been doing Audible books on my runs and that ups my book completion counts a lot!
kookyrunner says
Thanks for the tip about Audible books. Maybe I need to try that!
Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy says
You rocked almost everything this month, Kim! Nice job!
I do like the Peloton app. It makes me want the bike, but a) really no place and b) too many $$$.
I’ve wanted to spend time outdoors much more than finish my decluttering! I keep waiting for a rainy day!
kookyrunner says
You can always sign up for the Peloton app (I think it’s $20/month) and use it with your own stationary bike. I know a lot of people that do that!
Laurie says
Good luck on the June goals and congrats on the May ones (except the book thing…could happen to anyone! )
I should make more stretching and foam rolling part of my goals too. I never spend enough time on that.
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much Laurie!

Setting and achieving goals really helps during all of the craziness this year has brought. Yay for meatless meals! I too am enjoying all of the Peloton challenges. There is so much variety and it’s easy to get excited about them. I did Matty’s 21 day challenge last month. I recently found a new Peloton group that has a whole month of strength training classes mapped out. That is my goal for this month
kookyrunner says
Wow, thats an awesome goal!
I need to do Matty’s 21 day challenge too. It looks really good.
Lisa @ Mile by Mile says
I am also feeling like I desperately need to see the chiropractor. Not sure when I will feel comfortable enough to go back. Hopefully the stretching and foam rolling will help! I need to do the same.
kookyrunner says
Same here! I just keep watching the cases to see if the numbers are still going down. Luckily they are!
Angie says
Ah, I was so terrible in May with my book reading! April I was a reading machine, but I think I am burned out. I got some new ones that I am hoping I can read in June, now that I will start my summer vacation from my Masters. And yeay! for Meatless Mondays! I’ve been plant-based since February and I love it! So I am cheering anyone who gives up meat for at least one day! 🙂
kookyrunner says
That’s awesome that you’ve been plant based since earlier this year!
Chaitali says
Great job on those May goals! I’ve been really enjoying the peloton app too. So much so that we went ahead and ordered the bike :). Now we just have to wait until it gets here in July. I’m glad the meatless Monday’s are going well :). I share the plant based stuff I eat on my blog on Friday’s if you’re looking for more recipes 🙂
kookyrunner says
I love that you ordered the bike – it’s such a good investment, trust me!
I have gotten a few ideas for meals from your blog so thanks so much for posting on Fridays!
Kimberly Hatting says
OMG…how did I miss your post???
Great job with all your May goals. As I’ve before, you are such a rockstar with the Peloton…the biking and the other workouts.
I just realized (umm, five days in LOL) that I didn’t set any goals for June. Major oops. I need to stay on track with my abs/core work. I do all the planking everyday, but I need to tweak that and do other stuff as well.
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much #kimtwin! Don’t worry, I set my goals a little late for June – I think it was around June 3rd when I sat down to write them, lol.
Lacey@fairytalesandfitness says
All the miles I have been running I finally am utilizing my my stick and foam roller. It hurts do good. I need to be more consistent with it. I have started a book but it seems like it takes me forever to finish one….ha. Good job reaching your fitness goals with Peloton!
kookyrunner says
My tight calf muscles have let me know that I have neglected them for too long. I hope that the increase in stretching and foam rolling will help!
Darlene S Cardillo says
Congrats on hitting your goals.
I am just trying to stay motivated to run with no races in sight.
kookyrunner says
I think that’s a really good goal. I’ve noticed that it takes a bit more for me to get motivated these days.
Michelle @ Running with Attitude says
You did a great job with your goals! I have a book I started in April that is still sitting on my nightstand unfinished…I keep promising I will get it done.
I like your daily stretching and foam rolling – that one should really be on my must-do list. Doing both can make such a difference!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Michelle! Let’s just say I’ve been slacking on my stretching and foam rolling and my calves are now screaming at me!
