Happy Friday! It’s a new month and it’s time to set new goals! No matter how crazy everything gets, I always like to set monthly goals because I find that they help to keep me focused.
First, let’s take a look at my goals from May:
Complete 2018 and 2019 Peloton badge classes
Grade: A
I’m happy to say this goal is complete. I always worry about Peloton purging older classes, especially classes that give badges, so I am glad I was able to do the 2018 and 2019 Turkey Burn Outdoor Run classes in May.
Clean up my diet
Grade: B-
Yeah, this is still a work in progress. Carbs and I are best friends which is obviously a problem, lol.
Complete a Peloton Bootcamp class 2x a week
Grade: A
I achieved this goal with a mix of treadmill and bike bootcamps. Now that the #Saturday60 bootcamps are back, I’ll plan on doing those every week in addition to another bootcamp (probably a 30 or 45 minute one).
Here are my goals for June!
Back to daily stretching
I don’t know why I just can’t be consistent with this but I’m hoping that making it a monthly goal will help. I didn’t go to my ART doctor for about 2 months which I’m sure is contributing to my body feeling super tight, but the lack of stretching isn’t helping either. My goal is to get in a 5-10 minute stretch after my workouts this month which will be a combination of post-ride, post-run and full body stretches.
Consistently post on Instagram
My last post on Instagram was in February – yikes! I honestly just didn’t really have much to say so I stopped posting, but I continued to post on my stories more frequently. While I’ll still post on Instagram stories, I will also post more on my actual account. I did a post for Global Running Day so I guess I’m off to a good start, lol.
Complete the Peloton Strong Body Strong Core Program
This is a relatively new Peloton core program. Previously I did the Crush Your Core program with Emma and really enjoyed it. The classes are between 5-15 minutes and there are 5-6 classes to do per week so it’s not a huge time commitment, but will give me the structure I’m looking for when it comes to core work.
That’s it for this month – wish me luck!
If you set monthly goals, what are your goals for June?
Iβm linking up with Darlene, Michelle, Renee, Jenn and Zenaida for Fit Five Friday!
Coco says
I am focusing on my diet too. I did so well at the start of the pandemic but now that resolve has waned. I canβt believe you did all those badge classes β congratulations!
kookyrunner says
Same here! Oddly, I feel like I had more motivation at the start of the pandemic.
Shathiso says
Let me join you on the Stretching Goal! 5 – 10 minutes every day is so doable, right?!
Other goals for June – my biggest one is to follow my running plan consistently and to walk/hike at least once a week. Also, I’d love to be able to do a pilates class once a week. My core is so weak!
kookyrunner says
Right! I figure there’s no reason that I can’t fit in 5-10 minutes of stretching a day.
I have no doubt that you’ll crush your goals for June!
Darlene S Cardillo says
I go in spurts wit IG. I really like it because it’s so easy. You pop in a pic and a hashtag.
I think you are so active and dedicated to Peleton.
Stretching? What’s that? lo;
So hard not to eat carbs when you are a runner. If I don’t I feel so sluggish.
kookyrunner says
I’ll never be someone that posts daily on Instagram but I’m hoping I can post a few times a week. Also, I feel like there are accounts I follow that never pop up in my newsfeed which is frustrating!
Michelle D. says
Great goals!
I ask myself the same question about being consistent with the stretching. I’m climbing back on the daily bandwagon again – we need to keep each other from fall off LOL
I have not been able to break up with Carbs either – definitely a problem!
I missed the new Core program – I’ll have to check that out.
kookyrunner says
Yes! We will be accountability partners this month when it comes to stretching, lol π
I randomly saw the new core program when I was looking at different tabs on the Peloton app last week. It will be a little hard since the classes are in German lol.
Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy says
Nice job on last month’s goals & good luck with this month’s!
Not sure what’s up with my weight. It’s not like I’ve really over indulged, but my clothes are still telling me otherwise. So I’m just mixing things up & we’ll see where that brings me.
I completely stopped IG when the Pandemic hit! Honestly I don’t really miss it. Somehow I prefer FB, even though I know most prefer IG. What can I say — I’m weird!
kookyrunner says
I don’t really post on Facebook but I am part of a bunch of fitness groups on there so I log i daily. I used to like IG a lot more a few years ago when you could see posts in chronological order. I still hate that they changed that!
Deborah Brooks says
I have not tried any of Irene’s core classes yet maybe I should give those a go too! You are so good at mixing it up on the Peloton classes. I have to tell you that changing my diet the past year has made the most difference in my weight and body composition. Carbs used to be my best friend and now protein is. Looking forward to watching you crush your goals!
kookyrunner says
I’ve only done her 5 minute core classes bu those have been good. I’m curious to see what her longer core classes are like. That’s so good to hear about how moving to a more protein based diet really helped with your nutrition goals. I know I need to make a change but it’s so overwhelming to know how to start!
Kimberly Hatting says
I’m kind of a Twitter “poser.” I’m on it because “everyone else” is, but I’m very inconsistent and VERY inactive LOL (I totally forgot about the Bibrave thing Tuesday evening until about 20 minutes in!). I had not realized you hadn’t posted in Insta for such a longtime! I guess because you frequently interact with me on there, I hadn’t noticed you weren’t posting. And, I’m not in a good routine for looking at the stories, so #MyBad. Social media is great, but it can be a real time suck.
kookyrunner says
The only reason I remember bibchat is because I have an alert in my phone for it. Other than that I would always forget, lol.Yeah I had no idea that I had not posted in SO long on Instagram. You’re so right about social media being a time suck, especially with getting the right photo, etc.
Wendy says
I do miss your IG posts! I’m really bad with stories and reels…guess I’m just old school.
Nice work on the goals, Kim!!
kookyrunner says
I have never tried to do a reel on IG because I feel like I would mess it up, lol.
Laurie says
Hey…I thought carbs were MY best friend! π I don’t know if that’s a big problem (hanging out with carbs). You do a lot of aerobic activities. You need energy. I think carbs sometimes get a bad rap. Of course, not all carbs are alike. Processed stuff could go. Way to attack those goals, Kim!
kookyrunner says
I definitely eat too many of the processed carbs so I need to work on that and focus more on the good carbs!
Jenny says
I like the idea of doing a short core session 5-6 days a week. I’m going to borrow that goal from you! I’ve also been better lately about stretching/foam rolling, so I’ll try to continue that this month.
Every time I see a post about someone setting monthly goals I’m startled that it’s a new month already!
kookyrunner says
Yes, join me this month! It’s so much easier to commit when the time commitment is less than 10 minutes – that’s how I look at it anyway, lol.
Marcia says
Great job on your goals Kim! I need to join you with more stretching as I’ve been horrible with it. I’ve missed you on Insta!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Marcia! So far so good on the stretching, but we’re only 5 days int the month, lol. Hopefully I can keep it up.
Zenaida Arroyo says
I haven’t been posting much on Instagram either. It is just here and there. I do check out the others’ posts and like them but rarely comment. Facebook is just as bad. I haven’t been motivated. Maybe once school is over and summer is here it will be a bit better.
kookyrunner says
I definitely wasn’t motivated about posting the past few months, but I’m hoping that will change as I start to post more.
Jenn says
Monthly goals are so great!
I’ll be glad to see you back on IG – you’ve had a lot going on!
Carbs are my besties, too. We’ve come to terms with each other.
kookyrunner says
Thanks Jenn! I just have to get back in the habit of posting more on IG, which is hard lol.
Cari says
Belatedly in on strong core with you, that was so much fun with Matty in February even though his name was often “fucking Matty” in some classes
Congrats on the May goals, but I feel you on the carbs. A life without them isn’t worth it.
I go through fits and starts with IG.
kookyrunner says
I didn’t do Matty’s core challenge but I took a screenshot of all the classes so I’m probably going to do it on my own sometime this Fall. So far I like Irene’s program – week 1 wasn’t bad at all!
Cari says
I have the screen shots too, basically because Michelle sent them to me. I was equal parts not knowing Peloton to find them and not really understanding the archived Stories. You all spoil me π
kookyrunner says
We are happy to spoil you when it comes to Peloton!
