Happy Tuesday! Earlier this month Jessie from The Right Fits nominated me for a Liebster Award – how fun!
If you’re like me, you may not have heard of The Liebster Award. Here’s some information on the award from their website:
“The Liebster Award is an award that exists only on the internet and is given to bloggers by other bloggers. The earliest case of the award goes as far back as 2011. Liebster in German means sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing, and welcome.”
Pretty cool right?! You know I’m all about bloggers supporting other bloggers so I love the idea of this award. The rules are pretty simple:
– Link to the Official Rules in your Liebster Award blog post.
– Answer the questions given to you.
– Create more questions for your nominees to answer (ideally unique and creative ones).
– Comment on the Official Rules post with a link directly to your Liebster award. This collates all the posts in one place to make them easier to find.
Now that the logistics are out of the way, let’s get started! Here are the questions I received from The Right Fits!
What are three words to describe your blog?
Running (duh!), Honest and Funny.
What are five positive words to describe you?
Compassionate, Loyal, Dedicated, Hard-working and Appreciative.
What is the most interesting thing youโve read/seen this week?
The week just started, but yesterday I watched episode one of a series on Netflix called “Rotten”. It’s really shocking and eye opening. There are six episodes in total and they all look great!
Theyโre creating a film (movie) of your life, who plays you?
I’ve always loved this question! When I was younger, I was compared to Tatyana Ali a lot. I can’t think of a better compliment since she’s absolutely gorgeous – I’ll take it! She could play me in a movie anytime!
What is your favorite blog post youโve read today & would recommend?
I was just chatting with my friend about trying to be diligent about not wasting food (because really it’s just wasting money!) and then I saw this post from Farrah (so so timely). I also liked this post from Runner’s World about getting enough protein as i know it’s super important, especially when training!
What is you positive motto for 2018?
I’m hoping to “Radiate Positivity” this year. There’s just way too much negative energy in the world and I feel like I need to do something to combat that.
What is your top tip for finding blog-spiration?
Connect, connect, connect! Follow inspirational runners on Instagram/Twitter for motivation. Join blog link-ups not only for topic ideas but also to find other news blogs to read and follow.
What inspired you to start your blog?
At first I just wanted a place where I could write down all of my thoughts about running. It was very new to me and to be honest I didn’t really know what I was doing, lol. Then once I got into distance running, I wanted a place where I could share my honest feelings about training – the good, the bad and the ugly. I’m very happy with where my blog is now and I love that it helps to keep me accountable and helps me connect with other running bloggers.
Where is your happy place?
I have a few happy places…
Food – Inside any pizza restaurant ๐
Travel – Chicago is a city that I absolutely love and would move there if I could.
Running – Outside on a cool and crisp Fall day.
Who would you most like to go for a run/cycle/workout with?
I would love to go for a run with Meb! Although he would have to slow waaaaayyyy down in order to run with me, LOL.
If you could learn one new skill, what would you choose and why?
I would love to learn how to knit! I think it would be hard to learn at first but eventually it would be a little easier. I would knit tons of hats and scarves!
What do you want to achieve in 2018?
I would really like to PR at the Shamrock Marathon in March. I feel like I have a marathon PR in me!
…and that’s it! I will only add two questions since we have so many questions already!
What does the running community mean to you?
What advice would you give to a brand new runner?
I nominate the following blogs for a Liebster Award:
Taking The Long Way Home
The Fit Foodie Mama
Eat Pray Run DC
Marcia’s Healthy Slice
I’m linking up with Marcia from Marcia’s Healthy Slice, Erika from MCM Mama Runs and Patty from My No-Guilt Life for Tuesdays on the Run.

I have a friend that is been all over the world and she said the one place she could live would be Chicago. I have only been there one time for the Marathon. I would love to go back and visit when I would have more time.
kookyrunner says
It’s such an awesome city. I just really love the energy there.
Jennifer @ Fit Nana says
Omigosh, could you imagine going for a run with Meb?! *swoon*
And you go with that knitting business! I don’t know if I have the patience! Or maybe it’s just the fact that the only person I know who knits is my MIL and I’m not sure I’d have the patience to learn from her. haha
I love the running community. Means I always have a friend and a safe place. <3
kookyrunner says
LOL, I can understand that. I always love hats and scarves that are hand-knit so that’s why I wish I could knit!

I definitely think you have a marathon PR in you and I can’t wait to watch you CRUSH IT!
The second episode of Rotten is interesting but a little dry. I haven’t watched the third yet but it’s about chicken houses so it’ll be quite disturbing, I’m sure.
AND HECK YES TO PIZZA!! How long will you be in Cleveland when you’re here? I can’t wait to take up all of your time. ๐
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much Rachel! i’m really hoping that the PR happens this time.
Oh boy, I’ll have to watch that episode of Rotten this week. Good thing I stopped eating meat!
I’m still finalizing plans for Cleveland, but I’ll probably be there Friday afternoon to Monday morning

Love the radiate positivity! That docu-series looks interesting, although I’m a little afraid of what I’d learn from it. This is a really fun idea!

I finished the docu-series this weekend – I definitely learned a lot about different industries.
