Happy Monday! Only a few more days until Thanksgiving! (Gobble, Gobble)
I received positive feedback on last week’s post so I’m going to do my best to make this post a weekly feature 🙂
Before I get started, you HAVE to watch the video below from Lip Sync Battle. Anthony Mackie was good, but Joseph Gordon-Levitt KILLED it! I’ve watched the video a few times and each time it gets better. Who knew he was such a great dancer?! Hilarious!
Today I’m focusing on a band that was huge in the 90’s. This band was EVERYTHING when I was in middle school and it helped that the lead singer was super hot. The band I’m talking about is Bush.

Before listing some of their good workout tunes, can I just say how pissed off I am at Gavin Rossdale. I mean cheating with the nanny, really?! And who cheats on Gwen Stefani?! I’ll just never understand that whole situation…
Anyways, whenever a Bush songs comes on my playlist it give me that extra motivation to push a little harder or to tackle a hill.
My # 1 Bush song is Machinehead. Once I hear that guitar rift in the beginning, I am instantly in the zone. This works well for me for shorter distance runs when I want to push myself and go a little faster.
I’m also a big fan of Little Things and Swallowed. Both are a little bit on the slower side as far as beats per minute, but both songs still have that heavy guitar influence and I like either song for longer runs, especially if I’m starting to feel a little bored.
Everything Zen is a song that I need to come on in the middle of a long run. You know what it feels like – you’re running along and you hit mile 6 (with 7 more miles to go) and you may be starting to zone out. This is a good song to wake you up and give motivation to power through the next miles.
Those are my top Bush songs for running, but I think they also work well for any strength training workouts as well. Are you a fan of Bush? If so, did your favorite song make my list?

Hell yeah! I was a huge alternative music fan back when I was "young"…Bush was my jam! Can't wait to watch that video, sounds funny! 🙂

Same here – I was really into alternative in my "younger years" 🙂
The video will put a smile on your face, lol.

Yeah, but I hear Gwen bounced right on back into Blake Shelton's arms. Miranda is NOT happy. And there's that whole music genre thing…LOL
The 90s still give me some of my best running music.

Oh I know, that whole situation is a huge mess!
I'm a huge 90s music fan because I feel like music was just so much better then!
