Happy Monday! IT’S MARATHON WEEK…AHHHH! I can’t believe that it’s finally here! I’ve got a pretty busy week (Halloween and a work conference in NYC for two days) so I don’t think I’ll have much time to freak out this week. Also I’ll be hitting up the New York City Marathon Expo on Thursday evening, so if you’re going to be around, let me know! Now let’s focus on some songs by my favorite New York artists!
All of these songs are currently on my marathon playlist. I figured you have to include at least a few songs from New York music artists when you’re running through all five boroughs, right?!

Two of my favorite artists in one sing, singing about my home state. This is pretty much perfection.
Walk This Way
Both Steven Tyler and RUN-DMC are from New York so it only made sense that this song would be added to my playlist!
Money, Cash, Hoes
One of my favorite Jay-Z songs. Hopefully this helps me run over the bridges in the marathon!
Notorious B.I.G
You can’t have a New York playlist without including a song from Notorious B.I.G! This is one of my favorite songs from him
In Da Club
I still remember my friends in college singing this to me on my birthday, lol. It’s a fun song with a nice steady beat and great for running!

Great choices! Empire State of Mind always does it for me. I’m from Buffalo, so I count as a New Yorker, right? LOL! I’ve been putting together so many playlists and I want to make a big one for the marathon, I’ll need to remember a couple of these songs 🙂
