Happy Friday. I blinked and October was over, but I’m okay with that. I am more than happy for the last few months of the year to go by quickly. Let’s see what November will bring!
First, let’s take a look at my goals from October:
Complete my two virtual races
Grade: A
The Hartford 10K run went well, but the SoNo Half Marathon was a hard run. I am definitely NOT in half marathon shape so I was thankful that I finished the run.
Complete Orangetheory Fitness Hell Week
Grade: A
I got through all 8 classes and it was hard, but it was a nice challenge. The shirts were pretty cool this year too!
Complete the Welcome to Peloton Yoga Program
Grade: A
It was nice to finish this program to get a better handle on some of basic yoga moves.
Here are my goals for November!
Complete OTF Marathon Month
I did the Virtual Marathon Month Challenge in April when the studios were closed, but they are doing it again in November now that most studios are back open. Basically you record your treadmill mileage at the end of each class for the month of November. I signed up to complete the marathon distance. I think I can do it if I go to 4 classes a week. It’s a little harder to get the mileage with the 45 minute vs. 60 minute classes, but I think it’s still doable.
Complete the Pro Compression Fall Classic Virtual 10K
This will be the first virtual race by Pro Compression. I’ve been using their compression socks for years and I was an ambassador for the company for many years so I’m glad I can support this race. In addition, a portion of proceeds will be donated to Holiday Farm Fire victims in Oregon.
Practice more self care
I’m not 100% sure what this looks like – yoga, meditation, naps, etc – but I’m determined to take self care more seriously. With all the change at my job, mixed in with the election and a rise in Covid cases, my anxiety has been pretty bad. I really need to focus on not worrying about every single thing since most things are out of my control. I’m hoping that I can find something that will help me calm down more.
That’s it for this month – wish me luck!
If you set monthly goals, what are your goals for November?

Three straight As for October! Well done, Kim, especially for completing the Fitness Hell Week.
I’m sure you can complete the OTF marathon in November. Can you also add outdoor miles? Or do only the OTF class miles count?
kookyrunner says
Thanks! Unfortunately we cannot include outdoor miles so it’s going to be a little hard to get in the distance just using OTF classes but I’m up for the challenge!

Well done on October! You’ve got some great goals for November – especially the self care! You are so right about needing to focus more on what you can control – I need to get back to that myself. I hope November is good to you 🙂
kookyrunner says
Thanks Michelle! I’m going to really try to focus on some positive things this month – when possible.

A 10K is definitely more my speed right now. I don’t’ have it in me to run a half by myself outside of a race. I do like having some goals each month. I am excited about my Turkey trot 10K. Any excuse to dress up!
kookyrunner says
I agree with you – any excuse to dress up!

You had a great October. I can’t believe you did all ays of Hell Week and still did Peloton workouts, including Bootcamps!
ProCompression has some fun holiday socks! I’ve just gotten too laze about wearing compression socks for my runs. 😛
This is a really good time to focus on self-care. I’ve gotten better at not stressing over things I can’t control, but when people lie and spread misinformation, that does stress me out, so I’m struggling!
kookyrunner says
I’ve gotten lazy about wearing my compression socks because I’m not really running longer distances, but I’m cool with that for now!
That’s my biggest issue – I watch the news and I get so wound up and it’s really not healthy!

You can so do that OTF marathon!!!! I love how they continually challennge you.
Nice job on the goals!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Wendy! I’ve just gotta push a little harder on the treadmill during class 🙂

Thanks Cari!

Well done! I managed my October 100 miles, just, so am keeping that goal for November. No Peleton yet but I have managed to access my cross-trainer so will try to do a bit on that this month I think.

Awesome job on your October mileage!
