Happy Sunday! I felt like this week flew by!
I just finished week 2 of marathon training and I’m feeling pretty good! I feel like I really nailed this week and even added in some extra stretching and PT exercises.
Last week I had a gait analysis (my last once was 2 years ago) and I was told that I don’t need a stability shoe. Based on this analysis, I’m trying two new pairs of sneakers the next few weeks. I tried out Brooks Ghost 8 sneakers on Thursday for my 4 miler and they felt pretty good. I’ll try the New Balance Vazee Pace this upcoming week. I’m also going to be starting a 30-day plank challenge starting tomorrow!
Now let’s recap the week
Monday
4 mile easy run (treadmill) and this counted for my Rock ‘n’ Roll Virtual Run (Guitar Solo). You can still sign up for their remaining 2 virtual races.
Tuesday
5 mile easy run (treadmill) + 30 minutes of Yoga for Runners
Wednesday
Boot Camp (60 minute class)
Thursday
4 mile easy run (treadmill) + PT/ART
Friday
REST DAY!
Saturday
10 mile long run
Sunday
HIIT Class (60 minutes) + Spinning (45 minutes)
Two weeks down, 14 more to go – BRING IT ON!
Total Miles – 23
Grade – A+
Also if you’re running a race soon, check out Abby’s (my running coach) Facebook page. She posted a great video about how to run tangents so that you don’t end up running extra mileage during a race!
If you have any training tips, please let me know in the comments – I welcome any advice!

You had an awesome week and nailed every workout.
Keep up that extra stretching and PT to keep your body happy. I’ll be doing the same thing over here.
And thanks for the shout out.

Great job girl! Now, when running on the treadmill do you always wear your Garmin? I’ve seen others do that and do not understand it cause well the machine will also give your the same information (besides mile splits), no?
kookyrunner says
I have just started using my Garmin for treadmill runs. On the watch I turn the GPS off when running on the treadmill and it works perfectly. Uusally the pace on my watch is slightly faster than the pace on the treadmill. The watch gives me my splits as well.

You had a great week of training, active every day of the week! I bet Yoga for Runners is great! Do you think spinning class is helping with your running?
kookyrunner says
I found that spinning really helped out with my endurance so I think it will definitely help my running long term!
