Happy Friday. September wasn’t exactly the best month, and super stressful, so I’m hoping that this month is much better. Let’s see what October will bring!
First, let’s take a look at my goals from September:
Complete the Peloton Power Zones program
Grade: A
I completed the program, doing my second FTP test on Monday. As I’ve stated, I didn’t care for the program that much (it just wasn’t for me) but I’m happy I went through the program to learn more about power zones.
Do meditation classes 3-5x a week
Grade: A
I really like the short 5 minute meditation classes so I think I’ll keep these in the rotation! The sleep meditations are so good!
Try one new recipe each week
Grade: A
I was surprised I actually achieved this goal this month! Two of my favorites we orange chicken and buffalo chicken tenders. Both were pretty easy to make and also tasty!
Here are my goals for September!
Complete my two virtual races
I plan on running the Hartford Marathon 10K and SoNo Half Marathon this month. I’m not really concerned about the 10K but I am NOWHERE near ready for the half marathon! Even though I’m not trained, I know I’ll be able to cover the mileage, even if I have to walk the last 5K.
Complete Orangetheory Hell Week
While not confirmed yet, I saw a post on Reddit that mentioned OTF Hell Week would be from October 24-31. I’m thinking of doing something a little crazy this year and seeing if I can take all 8 classes during Hell Week. I’ll have to see how I feel after my virtual races this month. So my main goal is to complete hell week which requires taking 4 out of the 8 classes, and my stretch goal will be to take all 8 classes.

Last year’s template
Complete the Welcome to Peloton Yoga Program
This is a 2 week program that I probably should have taken a long time ago as it focuses on basic yoga moves. Some moves I have down but others I really need to learn more about. Hopefully this will make yoga classes a little easier!
That’s it for this month – wish me luck!
If you set monthly goals, what are your goals for October?
I’m linking up for Fridays with Fairytales and Fitness from Fairytales and Fitness.
Glad to see that OTF is having Hell Week, although doesn’t every week feel like Hell Week these days? LOL. May as well earn it, lol
Enjoy that yoga challenge.
LOL so true. The whole year has felt like Hell so I guess no big deal on having a week dedicated to it, lol.
You’ve got an exciting month on tap! As you know, I was really nervous about my virtual half last week, and I totally forgot the #1 point of racing…which is to have fun! Once I got that back I was able to enjoy the race. I really love the shirts.
Yes! That’s so important and I often forget about that aspect of racing sometimes. But if it’s not fun, it’s not worth doing.
Kim, you are really getting your money’s worth out of Peloton. Way to go. And way to be adventurous and try a new recipe each week. I should do that too. There are so many good recipes online.
Thanks Laurie! I tell anyone that Peloton saved my sanity during the stay at home orders. It gave me something fun and exciting to look forward to, especially when so many things were unknown.
You were on fire this month, Kim! So happy that you’re meditating. The effects are cumulateive!
I’m starting to embrace meditation and like it more and more!
Monthly goals? I vaguely remember setting such goals…but it’s been awhile LOL I’m glad the meditation classes have been having a nice effect, especially the sleep ones!
LoL, well my main goal every month is just to stay sane 🙂
I’m 99% sure I’m going to miss Hell Week this year. 🙁 I didn’t know about that intro to yoga series — I may check it out after I finish coretober. 😉
Coretober sounds like so much fun!
Also, you can do Hell Week at home. I think it’s $10 and you get a shirt and access to the workouts.
Like Coco said, I didn’t know about that yoga intro series either – something I will have to try at some point for sure.
That’s great that OTF is still doing Hell Week! I bet you’ll make all 8 classes 😉
I stumbled upon the yoga program on the app over the weekend and thought it would be great to try it out!
You’ve been doing so well with your Pelaton classes! You should share your recipe pics on IG. I love looking a food people make!
I usually share my workout stuff on IG stories but I know i need to share more on my feed but I get lazy LOL
Hoping you have a less stressful October! My only goal is to run 100 miles again to make it my 6th month in a row (OK one was 99.something but …). I have a few challenges on the go but they’re doable, running a marathon over the month for the local hospice, etc. Oh, and I should get the room with the exercise equipment sorted this week so can then sign up for the Peleton app! Have a good month!
Awesome goal for October and I have no doubt that you’ll do it!
Oh that hell week looks….well….hellish. Have fun with it and nice job making some new recipes!
lol that’s the common reaction to Hell Week!
I’m registered for Zooma Amelia Island, but it’s going to be a 10/12K (one was the odd 12 K, just can’t recall if it was Amelia Island or the Cape) and not the Half since it’s not worth it to risk pain. THis is why I’m a bad virtual racer.
Way to go on your September goals. Buffalo everything!
You’re smart for not pushing the half distance. I’m planning to do my virtual half next weekend but I’m going to see how I feel after the 10K mark – I may end up running 10 miles and walking the rest of it. Just depends on my mood that morning, lol.
