Happy Friday! Although today is a balmy 34 degrees, it’s been a pretty extreme Winter for those that live in the Midwest and Northeast. Just turn on any news station and you’ll hear about the recording breaking cold and snow in those parts of the country. When the opportunity to try out Turtle Gloves became available, I jumped at the chance!
What are Turtle Gloves?
Simply put, Turtle Gloves are the gloves for people that do stuff! According to their website, “If your passion is fashion, fitness, sports or just staying warm, we have Turtle Gloves for you. They are for work or play and every day”.
Turtle Gloves come in three different styles – fingerless gloves, turtle flip mittens and mitten hoodies. I was sent the Turtle Flip midweight running mittens.
The midweight gloves are recommended for everyday use and also for running below freezing temperatures (recommended to about 25F, tested as low as 15F by runners). Most of my outdoor runs have been in this range and I can definitely say that they kept my hands nice and warm. I also used the gloves when I was digging my car out from the most recent snowstorm and my hands stayed dried and warm during the 30 minutes I was outside.
I think that the best feature is the ability to go from mitten to fingerless gloves rather quickly – literally in less than 5 seconds. I always run with my iPod, so when I want to switch songs, I need to use my fingers. During my run I was able to quickly convert to the fingerless glove option to do this. Also, my hands tend to overhear when I’m doing a “longer” run (anything over 4 miles). For those runs I start with the gloves in “mitten” mode but when my hands feel warm, I quickly switch to the fingerless glove option for the remainder of the run.

Right?! I love the bright orange color.

I recently bought something similar except thereโs no thumb cover โ I liked them but it was hard to grasp the handle while shoveling.
I order glittens (convertible mittens).
kookyrunner says
Yeah I really like the thumb cover on these and they are so easy to convert from mitten to glove.

These sound great! I really appreciate the ability to switch to fingerless gloves as needed ๐
kookyrunner says
That’s what I really love about them too, especially if my hands start to get a little warm!
Chelsea says
Those sound AWESOME!!! I’ve heard such good things about them lately and will definitely have to give them a try as it’s still soooo cold here in Arkansas!!
Have a great weekend, girly!

Sorry it’s still so cold in Arkansas! Hopefully Spring will come soon.

I am always looking for a great gloves for running. The cold continues to hang on in NH. I do like the option of the gloves that have the flip over ends if your fingers get too hot. These look like great gloves.
kookyrunner says
Yes, this is definitely the never ending Winter!
Kimberly Hatting says
These look like a great and practical product…and I love the bright color ๐

Oh those look fun! I’ll look into them
One of my favorite pair of running gloves is a pair of “flip top” mittens from Kohls. Finger savers!
kookyrunner says
It’s so cool when you can find a pair of gloves that are multi-purpose!
Cari says
Yes – and these convertible seem to work better than the touch screen gloves
kookyrunner says
Agreed!
fairytales and fitness says
Cool! I have something similar but mine are a little bulky for running (but I still use them)!
kookyrunner says
I have a pair of running mittens that I purchased a few years ago but I don’t wear them for the same reason – too bulky!
Wendy says
I would like those–my hands get hot so fast!! Love the color!
kookyrunner says
Same! Although this Winter it takes me hands a little bit longer to warm up lol
Esther says
Those def look perfect for cold weather running! Those would have been ideal for when I lived in Chicago!
kookyrunner says
They are so good for cold weather running!!
De Bolton says
I prefer mittens over gloves especially when theyre comfy and cute. Will have to check these out.
kookyrunner says
That’s great – hope you like them!
Jenn says
These are super adorable and look so toasty warm! It’s so nice to be able to get your fingers out in case you need to manipulate something. I wear fingerless gloves quite a bit, but it would be nice to have mittens like these.
kookyrunner says
That’s what I love most about them. On yesterday my hands got warm but I was able to flip the mittens and still wear them for the rest of the run.
The Accidental Marathoner says
Those look so cool – I would have loved to have tested them out! I’m thinking of buying a pair now that I am reading everyone’s reviews. I love that deep orange color!
kookyrunner says
Definitely try them out! You can never go wrong with having an extra pair of gloves in Chiberia!
