Happy Tuesday! It’s time for another edition of Tuesday Topics. This week’s Tuesday Topic: What’s on your Fall Bucket List?. Remember to link-up with Kim and Zenaida and the bottom of this post.
Although it’s not officially Fall yet, I already have visions of pumpkins, apples and colder weather. It will be nice to get a break from this crazy humidity in a few weeks! Here is what is on my Fall Bucket List this season.
Run a 5K Race
There’s a good chance that the annual Turkey Trot 5K will be back on Thanksgiving Day. I normally go to OTF on Thanksgiving morning, but I may sign up for this race. It would be a fun way to get back into racing again. Not really a “bucket list” item I guess, but it would be my first race since 2019, so that would be pretty cool. Plus I would get to run in my turkey costume so that’s always a great extra incentive, lol.
Go Apple Picking
Always a Fall favorite, and you get a crapload of apples to bring home to enjoy. It’s a win-win!
Take A Scenic Drive
I’ve never done this before, but it’s a great way to see how all the leaves have changed colored. I can take a drive north on the Merritt Parkway to see all pretty Fall colors. Hopefully that will be an option this year – last year the weather kind of went from summer to “winterish” weather pretty quickly so the leaves only changed colors for about 1 week, lol.
Tell me: What’s on your Fall Bucket List?

Oh yes! That would be great seeing you run a race again, Kim. Especially with the Turkey costume, that would be fun.
I’ve never done apple picking – sounds like a great idea. Imagine all the apple pie! 😄

I feel like a costume always makes a race better!

I love this topic! Fall subjects make me happy. Yes- run the race! What else is a turkey costume for, if not to run a Turkey Trot? And, if you go apple picking I want to hear all about it… I used to go apple picking as a kid and always loved it.
kookyrunner says
So true Jenny – I really need to just run that Thanksgiving race if it’s offered.
Darlene Cardillo says
A Thanksgiving race is always fun time! Can’t wait to see your costume!
I need to go apple picking again… it’s been a few years. I do love apple pies!
kookyrunner says
i haven’t gone apple picking in a few years but I remember I was eating 2 apples a day just to get through them all, lol.
Virjinia @ With Purpose and Kindness says
I hope you do the race! I love seeing all your fun outfits for your Orange Theory workouts! I think I may pass on the Thanksgiving race only because my November is jam packed already! I hope the fall weather does come soon though. This heat has been insane!
kookyrunner says
The heat in Texas has been so crazy this summer. I hope you get some relief soon!

A scenic drive is good any time to me! As long as I’m not doing the driving, LOL!
I will most likely be at my moms, maybe bringing food this year — unless my mom wants to eat in the dining room with her friends. We’d still go, we just wouldn’t bring food! Although they also haven’t let us eat in the dining room since the Pandemic . . .
Anyway, if you do do a Turkey Trot, I know you’ll have fun!
kookyrunner says
Haha same here! I don’t particularly like driving (I do it because have to) but I would such it up to do a scenic drive.
Deborah Brooks says
I have not been apple picking in years! Sounds like a great plan for this fall. Now, all we need is actual fall 🙂
kookyrunner says
Yes! We just need Fall weather and maybe a little less rain than today’s monsoon lol.
Kimberly Hatting says
Wow, Kim, it’s been since 2019 since you last pinned on a race bib? I didn’t realize it had been so long. I think a turkey trot would be a perfect opportunity to re-enter the world of racing! Especially, since it’s a trot, there’s no pressure to actually “race” it. Apple picking sounds so fun! We have a couple different orchards in the area, and I have never been to any of them…my bad ;-(
kookyrunner says
Yup! I think my last race was December 2019 (RnR San Antonio) and my last travel was also December 2019 (Toronto for work). It’s really crazy!
Zenaida Arroyo says
I didn’t realize it’s been that long since your last race. Hopefully this year you will get to do it again. A few times I’ve gone to Hartford during the Fall and was in awe of the different color leaves. Everything looked beautiful!
kookyrunner says
Connecticut in the Fall is usually very pretty – I am lucky!

Apple picking is definitely on my list. Sadly, we don’t really get the changing foliage thing here in California… but I am also hoping to run a Turkey Trot again this year.

I hope that you get to run the Turkey Trot again this year. I always think those are the most fun 5K races.
