Happy Tuesday! It’s time for another edition of Tuesday Topics. This week’s Tuesday Topic: What are some of your favorite running brands? You can write about this or any running related blog post. Remember to link-up with Kim and Zenaida and the bottom of this post!
I’ve tried a good amount of running products over the years – some great and some not so great. There are a few brands that have consistently impressed me. Here are three of my favorite running brands.
I have fallen in love with their sneakers and clothing, especially their sports bras. After being faithful to Mizuno sneakers for a few years, I had to make a switch after they kept messing around with the Wave Inspire sneakers. After a lot of trial and error, I found the Brooks Adrenaline GTS sneakers – I even ran my last marathon in them! These sneakers offer the right amount of support and keep my feet happy. I really hope that Brooks doesn’t change these up too much in the future.
I also love their clothes, especially their running tanks and sports bras. Around 80% of my sports bras are Moving Comfort Juno. I think Brooks owns this brand since it’s on their website? It’s such a comfortable bra and keeps the girls in place, especially during high impact workouts.
I have a few Buff products, but my favorite is their multifunctional headwear because it can be used as a neck gaiter, headband, hood, beanie, etc. I can really wear it in all types of weather which is perfect for outdoor running. In addition, at the start of the pandemic in March I didn’t have any masks so I relied on doubling up my buff items. I was lucky that I had enough for myself and to give to my parents and sister until our masks got delivered. I’ll never forget how clutch their products were for me during that crazy time!
I have only worn their low socks for all of my workouts for several years. I love the extra support and compression the socks provide, especially around the arch of my foot. I haven’t worn the over the calf socks that much for running this year (since I’m not running long distances), I still wear them around the house to help aid in recovery after really hard bootcamp and OTF workouts. The owners of the company are also so nice and very passionate about giving back to their community. I was an ambassador for the brand for several years and it was an amazing experience!

My Brooks story is the same as yours! Now that I’ve found the Adrenalines, I’m running well again. I also love the trail shoe, the Casacadia. You know that I love Inknburn, but I am starting to move on to other brands. And as far as socks go, well, I have a few loves there!
kookyrunner says
I’ve heard great things about the Cascadia sneakers also. I would try them out if I ever get over my fear of trail running, lol.

I have never tried a Brooks product! Over here in Europe, I don’t get that much exposure to them.
My shoes are Asics and my sportswear is a mix of Asics, Nike and Adidas.
I will need to look out more for Brooks. I hear so many good things about them!
kookyrunner says
I ran my first half marathon in Asics and loved them but then they started to feel a little too heavy for my foot so I had to switch brands.

ALL of the above! Ahem…can you say #KImTwinning, again? 😉 I did get a pair of Wave Inspires late last year, not sure of the model, but they have been like a pleasant walk down memory lane. That said, the Brooks Adrenaline was a dream fit for me the first time I tried it (over five years ago).
kookyrunner says
Oh that’s good to hear – maybe they have gone back to more of the “original” style!
Marcia says
I love Brooks clothing and I’ve tried so hard to love their shoes, but they just don’t work past 6 miles. Sigh. I love New Balance for clothing and shoes!
kookyrunner says
That’s how I feel about Nike – love the clothes but the sneakers never work for me unfortunately 🙁

Well, Skirt Sports, of course. Looking forward to some new SS skirts next month!
Yes to both Brooks & Buff, although I don’t think I have much Brooks clothes (if any).
I like Mudgear for my long compression socks — the sock part is really cushioned & the foot part also isn’t compressive. I do wear Pro Compression low socks too.
kookyrunner says
I’ve heard great things about Skirt Sports products!
Darlene S Cardillo says
Skirt Sports for almost everything.
I have procompression but I prefer Zensah and Legend.
All my Buffs are the free ones.
kookyrunner says
I also have a lot of free Buffs from races. They came in handy this year, that’s for sure!

We have some similar loves Kim! Brooks and ProCompression for the win!
Thanks for hosting this link-up!

That’s awesome! I feel like Brooks and Pro Compression always offer quality products that I can depend on.

Brooks shoes are my favorite! I’ve been running in them since day 1, tried once to branch out (to Asics – which were fine) but came right back to Brooks!
Another brand I love is Garmin. I love my Forerunner!!
kookyrunner says
I love Garmin too! Now that I have an apple watch I use that to track my mileage on my runs but before that I always used my Garmin.
Deborah Brooks says
Brooks shoes are my go to as well. I am currently wearing the Glycerin and feeling good. I wore their sports bras for a long time and still have a few.
kookyrunner says
I love their sports bras! I’ve tried a few other brands but nothing fits quite as well at the Moving Comfort sports bras.
Michelle @ Running with Attitude says
I share your love of Brooks Shoes – Adrenaline and Glycerin! For clothes, I love InknBurn, Headsweats, Athleta, and Skirt Sports.
kookyrunner says
I ordered a set of masks from Athleta and love them! I need to check out their clothes too.
Lisa @ TechChick Adventures says
Saucony is my go to brand of shoes these days. I do keep hoping that Brooks will send me another pair to test out though – I love testing them!
kookyrunner says
I like the variety of Brooks sneakers!
Zenaida Arroyo says
Brooks for me! But you know that already. 🙂
kookyrunner says
haha yup!

Brooks Ghost for me – and sometimes the Glycerin. I started in the Adrenalines YEARS ago but… somehow managed to correct my overpronating issue? Anyway, I don’t need the support anymore and the Ghosts are *perfect* for me.
I’ve never tried ProCompression but have pondered it recently as I could use some support for my calves when I’m not wearing long times. Hmm….
kookyrunner says
I tried the Ghost a few times but I can only wear them for very short runs. It sucks because I always love the color and design for those sneakers.
