Happy Tuesday! It’s time for another edition of Tuesday Topics. This week’s Tuesday Topic: show us your year in bling. Remember to link-up with Kim and Zenaida and the bottom of this post. It was another year of no racing for me, so I don’t have any bling to share, so I’ll be going off topic this week.
Tis the season for shopping, parties and delicious holiday food! One thing that keeps me on track during this busy time of year is getting in my workouts. Also it adds an element of fun when you can incorporate challenges too. Here a few December challenges to provide you motivation through the holiday season.
Robin Arzon’s #3for31 Challenge
Robin has hosted this challenge in December for a few years and it’s one of my favorite challenges. It’s simple – commit to either 30 minutes of activity or 3 miles (walking/jogging/running) per day. The best part is that the activity can broken up throughout the day – it’s whatever works best for you!
Apple/Garmin Watch Challenges
Both the Apple and Garmin watches also have monthly challenges and badges. Yet another way to keep things interesting!
Strava Challenges
Every month Strava has different monthly challenges related to walking, cycling, swimming and running that you can join and December is no different. Check out some of their fun challenges for this month:
St Jude Children’s Hospital Challenges
I’ve seen these challenges pop up on Facebook over the past few months and they give you an opportunity to fundraise for the organization while also completing the challenge. They have a few challenges to choose from this month – 3,000 push-ups, Walk 100 miles, 62 Miles, Dog Walking and Baking.
Tell me: Do you participate in monthly fitness challenges?

Topic for next week – Your year in photos. We hope you’ll link up with us!
I don’t participate in any challenges but these sure look like good ones! What a great way to stay motivated and active. It’s hard to squeeze it all in, i would imagine these challenges keep you on track!
It’s definitely a good way to stay motivated, and to hold me accountable!
It seems like I always have sone kind of a monthly challenge going, and I think they’re a great way to keep things interesting. While I’m not intentionally participating in Robin’s #3for31 challenge, I’m definitely doing all the daily work 🙂
You are definitely the challenge queen!
These are great challenges! I’m part of a Strava group that tries to collect as many points as possible to win against other teams.
We’re not really good and not all 20 people in the group really participate, but it’s motivational to see your earned points at the end of the month.
With home office, desk jobs and car commutes there must be so many people out there who don’t move for 30 minutes daily. For those, Robin’s challenge is perfect!
That sounds like an awesome Strava group! I’m all about any groups that can offer accountability.
These are good ones. Occasionally I do Strava ones or a NYRR virtual race.
I do make sure I complete mine in Virgin pulse to earn money.
Otherwise I’m not one for challenges.
My company used to be connected to Virgin Pulse but they are no longer offering it which is a bummer because I used to do those challenges too!
I love the #31for31 challenge every year as well. It is very doable for everyone and motivating. I am all about this swagger society!
I agree! I think it’s such a great challenge because it’s not very rigid and offers a lot of flexibility.
You know that I’m a fan of Robin’s challenge as well! I love the commitment to daily movement.
I’ve done a couple of Strava and Garmin’s challenges. I haven’t been running much but I am hoping that changes next year.
