Happy Tuesday! It’s time for another edition of Tuesday Topics. This week’s Tuesday Topic: Holiday gift guide for runners! You can right about this, or any other running topic. Remember to link-up with Kim and Zenaida and the bottom of this post.
My favorite part about the holidays is giving gifts to family and friends. I love searching for the perfect gift that I know the recipient will love. I find that runners are probably the easiest people to shop for just because there are so many things that we always need. Here’s a few gift ideas for the runners in your life.
I purchased the Theragun Prime for my mom last year and she loves it (I also use it too)! I’ve also heard really great things about the Mini, which is perfect for travel. I wish I had that to pack in my suitcase when I did my last marathon – I know my legs and feet would have very much appreciated it! I know I’m guilty of this, but sometimes runners forget about the recovery part of training. The Theragun makes it easy to massage tired muscles.
Okay, so this isn’t the sexiest gift option but hear me out! I’m all about giving people gifts that I know they will use. No one wants to wear smelly workout clothes, so this detergent will definitely get used. I have been using WIN sports detergent for a few years and it works very well. I have sensitive skin so I use the free and clear version.
I have used Believe Training journals in the past and they are excellent. I love that you have space to plan out workouts for the week and there’s also a section to write down goals. I always loved looking back in my journals to see my progress after each training cycle.
Tell me: What’s one item on your runner wish list this year?

I love practical gifts! Detergent for activewear is definitely going to be used by runners.
I think I would like a massage subscription! It’s something I hardly ever get but I really appreciate it when I have one.

I’m hoping for a pair of trekking poles. Not necessarily running related, but definitely something I need for the trails.

All great recommendations, Kim!
My wish is to get that damn treadmill already. Someone wants to keep waiting for a better deal, luckily the weather hasn’t been too atrocious yet.
Darlene S. Cardillo says
No big wish list.
I’d say a gift card to Amazon so I can buy whatever.

I’m a big fan of gift cards! I know that some people think they are impersonal but i like them because it allows me to purchase what I want/need.

I love my Theragun Mini!!!!! It goes everywhere I go (if I’m traveling). I need to take a look at those journals…I just log my workouts in a weekly/monthly planner and keep notes on things that way, but an official journal might be a worthwhile upgrade 😉

Once I start traveling for races again, I think I will buy the mini – I imagine it’s a great travel companion 🙂

I totally agree – I feel like runners are very easy to shop for 🙂
I have not tried a Theragun, but I think every runner would love it!

My muscles have thanked me quite a few times after using the Theragun – it makes recovery easy!

I agree, it’s not difficult to find gifts for runners.
I have just received one year subscription at Runners World magazine.

That’s a great gift!

I don’t have much on my wish list this year – though I would never turn down new gear 😉
I love my massage gun! That Theragun Mini would be so useful for travel.

LoL, same here! I need a new pair of Brooks sneakers so I may ask for that.

I’m all for practical gifts Kim! You’re right, maybe not the sexiest gift, but they get used!! I like how unique the gifts you’ve written about are!
kookyrunner says
Exactly! As I get older I really enjoy practical gifts that aren’t fancy or flashy.
Zenaida Arroyo says
The mini one is perfect for traveling! Hopefully once I start traveling for races again I can get it.
kookyrunner says
Same! It would perfect because it can fit in an overnight bag easily.

Anti climactic wishlist since I bought it and brought it to Santa to give me, but so glad for my new Aftershokz. I borrowed a friend’s for Malibu and realized how much better the sound has gotten, and I love the idea of a multi pair.
