Happy Tuesday! It’s time for another edition of Tuesday Topics. This week’s Tuesday Topic: your mod-year review!. Remember to link-up with Kim and Zenaida and the bottom of this post!
I can’t believe it’s already time for a mid-year review. This is the time of year where I see how I’m progressing with my 2021 goals.
Complete 500 Peloton rides
Grade: A+
Yesterday I completed my 600th ride so I’m definitely hot this goal, lol. I almost missed this goal but luckily I looked at my profile over the weekend. I saw that I was close to 600 and picked Olivia’s AFO Nas ride for my 600th cycle class.
Take an actual vacation
Grade: TBD
I know I still have 6 months before the end of the year but I’m not sure if I’ll be able to take an actual vacation this year. I already know that work will be super busy for me in September/October, and maybe in November. December is always super busy with end of year stuff. I’ll definitely make sure to take all of my vacation days, I’m just not sure if those will be used for an actual vacation or staycation.
Focus more on mindful/healthier eating
Grade: B-
I am hoping to use this week off from work to do a bit of a reset on this. It’s something I’ve been struggling with for a few months and it’s getting to be a bit frustrating at this point. It’s like I have a mental block or something, if that makes sense? It’s weird.
Tell me: What’s one goal you’re working on in 2021?

Darlene says
You are doing awesome with Peleton. I may join again. We’ll see.
I hope you do get some time off. I plan a few days this summer.
Healthy is the toughest goal. But you look great in your photos. Soo you’re not doing so bad. It’ll be easier when summer is over.
My goal is to continue my hikes and to run consistently.
kookyrunner says
Thanks Darlene! It’s just hard with the nutrition because I know I can do better.
Kimberly Hatting says
Yes, you definitely are rocking your Peloton time (as well OTF)! The year has gone so fast, and June flew by at record speed. I haven’t even really thought about my mid-year status. I definitely have a lot on my plate (fitness-wise) right now with marathon training and all the biking I’m trying to stay consistent with. Oh, and there also are all the returning races …
kookyrunner says
You have done a lot so far in 2021 and I’m really looking forward to cheering you on through marathon training over the next few months.
I don’t think I’ll be doing any races this year but will probably sign up for some 2022 races. I already have one in Philly in March that I deferred from 2020.
Deborah Brooks says
Rocking the Peloton rides and I love how much diversity you have in the classes you choose. You always give me great ideas for classes. I am doing a little less riding this summer and more running. I am ok w that for now. Getting my eating in check took a long time and it’s still a daily focus. I do hope you get that actual vacation soon!
kookyrunner says
Thanks! I think mixing it up with the music and instructors keeps things interesting for me. Once it gets boring, I know I won’t do it so I have to keep thing interesting!
My nutrition struggles are really starting to get on my nerves so I’m dedicated to getting my act together. I think my issue is that once I “mess up” on a snack or something, I think it negates all my other good eating. It’s a vicious cycle!
Michelle D. says
Congrats on hitting 600 rides! You continue to crush your Peloton workouts!
I’m right there with you on the nutrition goal – it’s one area I’m really hoping to improve during the next 6 months.
kookyrunner says
Maybe we can be nutrition goal buddies and get ourselves back on track over the next 6 months!
Michelle D. says
Yes! I seriously need an accountability partner!
Catrina says
Wow, Kim. That’s more than 3 bike rides a day! Crazy! You must be the queen of Peloton! Fantastic job!!
What a shame about your holidays, though. Where would you go if you had the choice? It would be great if you could take 2 weeks off next month and just simply go abroad to get a change of scenery. You really deserve it!
kookyrunner says
Oh I think I had 400 rides when the year started so it didn’t take too long to reach that goal – you’re giving me too much credit, lol.
I would actually really love to see my best friends this year. They live in different parts of the country so we would need to pick one spot to meet up.
Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy says
I feel as though I haven’t been eating that badly, and yet the weight is still clinging. So I hear you. Sometimes we need that little reset.
I hope that you can actually get in a vacation, Kim, even if it’s just short (like ours). You had a really stressful year, and sometimes we don’t know how badly we need something until we do it.
500 rides is VERY impressive.
kookyrunner says
I have noticed that while I haven’t gained weight in a few weeks, I’m holding steady so I guess I can thank my workouts for that? That’s still not good though, lol.
There’s a small possibility that I may still be able to do a girls trip with my best friends this Fall but only if all our schedules align which is hard to do with 4 people!
Montana @ Pretty Lil Mudder says
Those are some good goals and yay for 600 rides on Peloton! How awesome!! I also have wanted to eat healthier but since I was on a vacation this past week I opted to give myself some leeway where that was concerned.
kookyrunner says
It’s impossible to eat healthy in New Orleans so I think you made the right choice by giving yourself some leeway to enjoy your vacation!
San says
I am having serious FOMO when it comes to Peloton. I am so obsessed with all their class content. Congrats on the 600 ride milestone. How long have you had your bike?
kookyrunner says
I’ve had my bike for about 3 years but didn’t really ride it regularly until last year. If you’re interested in testing out the Peloton app they are offering 3 months for the price of 1 right now – great time to try it out!
Shathiso says
Wow! You’ve smashed your Peloton Goal right out of the park!!!
I hear you on the mindful eating – it’s a struggle for me too and does feel like a bit of a block at times. I can definitely see I’m an emotional eater.
kookyrunner says
Me too – I’m such an emotional eater, especially when I’m stressed!
Zenaida Arroyo says
Great job on the Peloton goal!!! I’ve enjoyed following along to read about the different classes you take and your experience with them. Right now I am eating pretty much everything which is no bueno. Stress. I know I’ve written about how I am OK with eating what I want but now it is just too much. I need to figure something out so my pants fit!
kookyrunner says
Stress is definitely a factor in my eating habits too. It’s so frustrating because it seems like stress is just a normal part of life at this point!
Jenny says
I also need to clean up my nutrition- the problem is, I haven’t made it a goal. So you’re doing better than I am! Overall I would say you’re doing great- all those Peleton rides! Hope you’re enjoying your staycation.
kookyrunner says
I feel like I think getting my nutrition in check is a goal but then I tell myself obviously it’s not or else I should work on it harder – sigh 🙁
Black Knight says
A very good job with Peloton, congrats!
I pay much attention to my nutrition but I have a weakness…. Pepsi Cola.
My goal is to prevent injures and increasing the mileage.
kookyrunner says
Thanks! I hope that you can increase your mileage and stay injury-free!
