Happy Tuesday! It’s time for another edition of Tuesday Topics. This week’s Tuesday Topic: Brag Time: Share some of your most popular running related blog posts!. Remember to link-up with Kim and Zenaida and the bottom of this post.
This is such a fun topic! I always like to take a stroll down memory lane when it comes to my blog. I think I have been blogging for either 7 or 8 years (sorry, I have totally lost count) so I have covered a bunch of different running related topics. Here are my top 5 running blog posts:
1. 5 Recipes to Try from ‘Run Fast, East Slow’
I still can’t believe this is the blog that has received the most views, but I guess a lot of people are interested in recipes! This also reminded me that I have a lot of recipes in this book earmarked that I haven’t made yet – I need to fix that!
2. Building Your Marathon Playlist
You know I’m all about the music when it comes to running, especially longer runs. Designing a good marathon playlist takes a lot of time and effort so I was happy to share what works for me when designing a marathon playlist.
3. Tuesday Topics: Best and Worst Race Swag
I enjoyed writing about some of the best, and worst, race swag I have received over the years. since this was a Tuesday Topics post, it was interesting to read posts from bloggers that linked up with us and learn about some of the crazy thing they have received as race swag.
3. Dream BIG! I did the NYRR 9+1 program and you should too!
I was so happy to see this post in my top 5! If you live close to NYC, the NYRR 9+1 program is such a great way to guarantee race entry for the New York City Marathon. In addition, it was a lot of fun to run races in different boroughs, which ends up being great training for the marathon. Funny enough, I often ended up seeing some of the same people at different races since we were all doing the 9+1 program!
4. 2019 Chicago Marathon Race Recap
We all love a great race redemption story right? I epically bombed the 2017 Chicago Marathon so it was nice to not only enjoy my race experience in 2019, but also shave off 50 minutes form my finish time in 2017. Was it a marathon PR? Absolutely not, but I truly enjoyed this race, despite the cold weather, and I didn’t start to feel like I hit a wall until mile 22. It was also such a fun weekend because I was able to meet up with a ton of blogger friends too.
Tell Me: What are some of your most popular running related blog posts!?

These are all great posts, Kim! Who thought that recipes would make the hit list? 🙂
I never knew that there was a program that secured an entry to the New York marathon. It sounds like great training for the marathon too.
Yup! The 9+1 program is such a bonus. I am lucky that I live close enough to NYC that I was able to participate in it.
My most popular blog posts are listed at the bottom of my blog and sometimes it surprises me! But my all time most popular post is the one on self-defense tools for runners. Sad, but true!
It’s sad that the self defense blog even has to be written, but it’s also great that it’s the most popular. I’m sure you provided tons of female runners with ideas for great products to defend themselves!
I remember when you ran both of those Chicago marathons! Wow, time flies doesn’t it?
Right? 2019 seems like it was SO long ago!
Those are great posts. And good memories.
I actually have not looked at my blog. A nice idea for a post. I’ll have to remember.
Yes, definitely take a look at previous blog posts. It’s a great way to take a trip down memory lane 🙂
I need to go through my stats to see what’s catching my readers’ eyes. I don’t check that info very often. I do remember your marathons! I re-read my marathon posts, on occasion, because I love reliving the memories.
I never check the stats on my blog, lol. I should definitely do that more often.
Ooh! This was fun. I just read your Chicago marathon recap- I’ve only known you as the Queen of Peloton so it was fun to read about a race (plus I always love a good race recap.) The best and worst swag post was fun too. I guess your #1 most popular isn’t that much of a surprise (although I’m sure you didn’t expect it at the time.) People love recipes and that’s a popular book!
LoL, thanks! Yes, there was a time years ago when I ran a lot of races, especially marathons. I’m done with running marathons but hope to get back to running races again.
This is a really interesting mix of blog posts, Kim, and really showcases the depth you have on the blog. Yes, it’s always interesting to see what’s “trending”.
I think I saw you at both Chicago races. I remember seeing your family at one of them. I also enjoy going through past posts. Many make me smile and some make me cringe at what I wrote and how I wrote it. Haha!
Yup you’re right – I’m pretty sure I got to see you at both races!
When I upgraded my blog two years ago, I lost a lot of my stats so I’m not sure which of my running related posts have been the most popular. I do notice that My Favorite Walked into a Bar Jokes post gets about 20 views a day and that cracks me up!
