Happy Tuesday! It’s time for another edition of Tuesday Topics. This week’s Tuesday Topic: Brag Time! What are your most popular running related blog posts? You can write about this or any running related blog post. Remember to link-up with Kim and Zenaida and the bottom of this post!
Today’s topic allowed me to take a stroll down memory lane 🙂 I’m always surprised that some blog posts do so well, while others fall flat. Some of the posts in my top 5 surprised me but it’s all good as long as you guys love the content. Let’s see which posts made the cut!
DREAM BIG! I DID THE NYRR 9+1 PROGRAM AND YOU SHOULD TOO!
This post is from 5 years ago but it remains one of my favorites so I was happy to see it on the list! It’s so difficult to get into the NYC Marathon via the lottery. Although the 9+1 program only really works if you live in or near NYC, it’s still a great way to secure your entry to the NYC Marathon. You also get the chance to run a bunch of different races in different locations which is something I really enjoyed as well. There’s also a volunteer requirement as well so it gives you a chance to give back to the running community and interact with other runners.
5 RECIPES TO TRY FROM ‘RUN FAST, EAST SLOW’
So many runners I know have this cookbook so it made sense to highlight some of my favorite recipes from the cookbook. Also, I’m not sure if I’m the only one that feels this way but sometimes I can get intimidated by cookbooks because there are so many options. Sometimes having a few recipes to try first makes it a little easier to digest.
To be honest, I was surprised that this post made the list. I was happy to share my experience with the app because it was a positive experience. The “bet on yourself” aspect of the app it great because it really makes you competitive with yourself. I still participate in StepBet games and it’s a great way to keep me accountable to make sure I’m moving enough throughout the day to get my steps in!
No surprise that a Peloton post made the list! I still stand by all of my reasons listed on this post, and I could probably add 10-15 more. Even if you don’t own a Peloton bike or treadmill, the app has SO many classes to pick from and there is truly something for everyone. Peloton is also a huge community of like minded people from all walks of life that are interested in fitness. Every week I meet new people through taking classes or social media and it’s been a great way to connect with others, especially this year!
TUESDAY TOPICS: PELOTON RIDE TABATA WITH ROBIN PROGRAM
Ahh I remember taking this program – so hard, but so worth it! The tabata program really made me feel much stronger on the bike. When I first started riding on the bike I was doing okay, but I knew that I could be getting much more out of my rides. The tabata program made me aware of how hard I could push myself in classes, and still survive, lol.

Some great posts there, Kim!
I can see why the NYCRR 9+1 would be a hit with your readers. Who doesn’t want to run the NYC marathon? So cool.
I see you from your archive list that you have been blogging since 2014 – or maybe even longer?
Well done!
kookyrunner says
Yup, I started around 2014 which still blows my mind. I thought I might blog for a year or two and then stop but then I meet so many awesome bloggers and it encouraged me to keep blogging!

I would think the Peloton posts would be super popular! Fun topic for a blog post.
kookyrunner says
Such a fun topic and so much to write about too!
Kimberly Hatting says
I remember the NYCRR+1. It was a fun read (though I followed you along most of that journey so I already had some intell), but it also looked like a fun series of races.
kookyrunner says
The NYRR 9+1 post brought back a ton of memories!

Your list covers a broad array of areas! I’m going to use this idea for a future running post, it’s brilliant! What a great way to look back. When I’ve looked at my stats, I’ve sometimes been really surprised by what’s at the top and what’s not!
kookyrunner says
Looking forward to your post on this subject – it’s such a fun way to take a trip down memory lane!

Of course I don’t always (or often!) blog about running so it’s not surprising that my top five are my Reykjavik marathon report (the oldest, see it here https://librofulltime.wordpress.com/2016/08/23/race-report-reykjavik-marathon-2016/ ) followed by that for my ultra last year, Liverpool Rock-n-Roll Marathon last year and Birmingham marathon 2017. The fifth is a post I wrote about going for a memorial run the day after the Boston Marathon Bombings – I’d forgotten I did that or posted about it so it was nice to revisit it in a funny way.
kookyrunner says
Wow you had some amazing posts for your top 5!

Without actually looking, I can tell you my review of Danette May’s program is regularly one of my top posts. Like you with Peloton, I’m still using her site — in my case, years later!
kookyrunner says
That’s awesome!
Deborah Brooks says
This is a fun topic! It is fun and often surprising which posts are the most popular. I need to go back and look at mine again
kookyrunner says
It was such a fin walk down memory lane!

It’s so funny, Peloton is so popular now! I did a review of the Nike Trainign Club app years ago and it’s still my most popular post of all time LOL – but I haven’t updated it in years, I really should get on that!
kookyrunner says
So funny how our reviews of non-specific running topics are in our top 5. I actually love that because it shows readers are open to learning about new things!
Zenaida Arroyo says
You’ve published many great posts! I always look forward to them. And you know I love cohosting this linkup with you. 🙂
kookyrunner says
hanks so much Zenaida – and I love co-hosting the linkup with you too!

I knew you ran the nYC Marathon but I forgot that you did it thru 9+1.
I wish I lived closer to NYC. But I feel so lucky to have had that experience. It’s one of my favorite posts.
kookyrunner says
The 9+1 program was so much fun. A lot of travel back and forth to NYC but totally worth it.

Great picks.
I have enjoyed the Peloton app for a few months now and about 6 weeks ago bought a (regular) spin bike, so that I could also do the cycling classes. I really enjoy their content.
kookyrunner says
So glad that you’re enjoying the Peloton classes!
