Happy Tuesday! I’m super excited about today’s topic. I always think it’s fun to think about a wish list of items you would like if money were no object. With all of the races, gear and clothing associated with running, it was actually quite easy to come up with items for this list!
This week’s Tuesday Topic: What’s on your running wish list? You can write about this topic, or feel free to post any running related blog post. Remember to Link-up with Kim and Zenaida and the bottom of this post!
Here are a few things on my running wish list!
Free Racecation
If you have been following me for a while you know that I love racecations. They are super fun and a great way to visit different place. While I love them, the costs can add up rather quickly once you add up the race registration fees, flights, meals and hotels. I would love to win a FREE racecation to any race of my choice. For the United States I would pick the Honolulu Marathon and for an international race I would pick the London Marathon.
Garmin Fenix 5S
My current Garmin watch is 3 years old but it still works perfectly. If I had to replace it, I would love to get the Garmin Fenix 5S. I love the look of it and I would definitely wear it as a “real” watch. Also it has so many cool features that I would love to use. The only downside is the hefty price tag – $600..yikes!
Weekly Sports Massages
I am terrible at getting massages, even though I know my body would really appreciate them on a regular basis. If I had the time and $150+ to dish out every week for a sports massage, I would definitely do it! I’ve gotten sports massages a few times and they are simply amazing. They are a little painful but my body always feels great the day after.
Tell me: What items are on your running wish list?

I’m with you on the wish to win a free racecation. That would be awesome! As part of my rehab for my hamstring injury, my doctor told me to get a massage each week for the first 4 weeks. What torture. Not! I just had my 4th one yesterday. Now I must switch to one/month. I will miss my weekly massage.
kookyrunner says
I am still holding out that I can enter a contest for a free racecation to anywhere, lol.
I would really love weekly massages. I feel like they would de-stress me too.
Wendy says
I’d love a free racecation! But right now, if I could have anything, it would be for my speed and endurance to return!
kookyrunner says
Oh I would love that too! I wish I could get back my speed that I had 4 years ago 🙁
The Accidental Marathoner says
I love that Garmin watch but I agree, the price tag is pretty hefty! It’s a hard sell when yours is only 3 years old. I’ve been trying to schedule massages once a month, but the guy I go to has a very limited schedule and it’s hard to get in with him (but he is AMAZING!) I’d love a budget that would allow me several different types of running shoes so I could switch them up every now and then.
kookyrunner says
Exactly! And my watch still works perfectly so there’s no need to upgrade it right now.
Melissa says
I just have to say that I have the Garmin fenix 5s and I love it. It is cute, functional and I wear it daily. It’s a good thing for your wishlist!
kookyrunner says
That’s so cool! You echo what many others have told me about that watch 🙂
Allie says
I think we may be the same person – LOL!!! I have the Garmin fenix and absolutely LOVE it and I have asked for that new beauty for my birthday. I think the one I looked at was $800 so… but I seriously never take it off and use it almost everyday for triathlon training. #justified
I try to schedule massages once a month but it usually ends up being like once every three. And a trip with a race or fitness? I’m ALL over that!!!
kookyrunner says
LOL! Seems like we are definitely on the same page 🙂
Kimberly Hatting says
All of the above!! That watch is oh-so-fine, but I definitely could not justify dropping that kind of coin for it…maybe if I was an Olympian, though, that would be a different story. And, we’d probably not be having this conversation LOL
kookyrunner says
LOL agreed! I could only justify spending that much on a watch if I ran every day and was training for multiple marathons a year or something.
Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy says
These are all great wishes. I suppose I would want a personal masseuse if money were no object. 😊
And why not a free running retreat? Which included a half? The Alaskan running cruise can sponsor me! Yeah!
kookyrunner says
Oh that would be amazing! I would also hire a personal chef, lol.
A free running retreat would be amazing!
Liz Dexter says
My running wishlist is shoes that are available forever – still mourning my Saucony Guides even as I work my way through my last pair – the next iteration of them is horrible! And also trousers that are actually capris and long tights that I don’t have to roll up or leave the zips open and flapping. I’m echoing Cari here but she said on her blog what I think, too!
kookyrunner says
Oh that’s a good one! I can totally relate to this as it took me over a year to find another pair of good running sneakers besides my Mizuno Wave Inspire 10s (that came out 4-5 years ago).
Cari says
Oh yes on the massage. Or PT forever
I’m not sure I’ll ever want to do a second marathon, but if I do I’d put London on my bucket list. Need to look into Honolulu. I’ve been and I enjoyed, but not sure I’d want to run it the way I do other cities
kookyrunner says
I’d love to do the London Marathon. I’m going to keep entering the lottery until I get in, lol.
If I did the Honolulu Marathon I’d try to stay there a week so I could do all the sight seeing after the race.
Michelle @ Running with Attitude says
The Fenix is so pretty!
I think my biggest wish list items include race vacations (all expenses paid of course!) and an endless supply of custom made running shoes so I never have to go on a shoe hunt again!
kookyrunner says
Right? I just love looking at it, lol.
Custom made running shoes would be amazing!
Zenaida Arroyo says
That watch is so pretty! But I am pretty happy with the one I have (225). It is a simple watch and gives me the data that I need like time, distance, pace, etc. Maybe one day I will upgrade for a nicer one.
Massages are the best! I try to get one every two weeks. Check with your chiropractor and/or insurance company and see if there are deals for employees.
kookyrunner says
Same here. My watch is great and does everything that I need so I don’t have to upgrade right now.
I get a deal on my ART visits through my insurance. No sure if it would work for massages but I’ll check.
Debbie says
So, we have the same wish list! I’d love a free racecation! And, since Honolulu was my first (more than 20 years ago!), I’d love to go back. I laugh at myself for wanting to upgrade my Garmin since I don’t use all the bells and whistles I already have on the 235. Which I do love. And (yay!) I’m getting a massage on Friday. I can’t wait!
kookyrunner says
I didn’t know that you ran Honolulu – that’s awesome!
Deborah @ Confessions of mother runner says
I have the Fenix 3 and I do love it!Hope it comes your way sometime soon. Thanks for the linkup have a great day
kookyrunner says
You’re so lucky! I think all of their Fenix watches are just so sleek and modern looking.
Annmarie says
I’d take a free racecation or a massage in a heartbeat! I have the Fenix 5s and I LOVE it. Mine is black though (bought it new and for a reduced price off a friend) ….wish I had the white/rose gold one, SO PRETTY!
kookyrunner says
The black Fenix 5s is super pretty too!
Janelle @ Run With No Regrets says
These are all items I could see on my wishlist, especially those regular massages!! The newer smartwatches look amazing! If I could travel for all the races around the country, I would!
kookyrunner says
I totally wish I had unlimited funds for travel!
Sandra D Laflamme says
Yes to all of these things! I actually have the Garmin Fenix 5s and love it. So worth the money! I wish I could go on more racecations they are always such fun!
kookyrunner says
So cool that you have the Fenix 5s!
Jenny Albertson says
Um, yes to all of these things. I’d take any of them in a heartbeat. As well as some apple airpods so I can go back to running without a headphone cord dangling around.
kookyrunner says
I’m kind of interested in the apple AirPods too!
Coco says
A free racecation would be great.
I always say my Fenix can do more than I can, but I do wear it all the time and have stick with it for 3 years, so it was worth it.
I think one reason I like PT is I get a mini sports massage every time. 😉
kookyrunner says
That’s very true about PT. I always get an adjustment when I go to my ART doctor and that always feel great!
Chris Tiley says
A GPS watch is def on my wish list. Got an old Garmin but it’s on its last legs. Freezes regularly and can take over 10 mins to find a satellite. Just need to work out which one to get.
kookyrunner says
Check out runningwareshouse.com or Amazon for good deal on Garmin watches if you’re looking to pick up another one!
Chris Tiley says
Thanks, will take a look!
Rachel says
I love your wish list. I would add a personal chef. I love eating healthy, home-cooked meals. But damn does it get exhausting cooking 6-7 days/week!!
kookyrunner says
Oh yes, that’s definitely a good one to add to the list! I would also add a personal trainer.
Jen says
Weekly massage- that sounds amazing!!!
kookyrunner says
Right?! I really wish I could make that a reality!
Marc Pelerin says
Get me a fresh pair of running shoes every month and I think I’d be all good!
kookyrunner says
I agree – that would be great!
Esther says
Ohh, I would love to run the Maui marathon and one in Italy!
That is a pretty watch! Yikes on the price!
My monthly massage helps me so much! I wish I could afford it weekly!
kookyrunner says
running in Maui and Italy would be awesome!
Hannah says
Who wouldn’t love a free racecation? Our local running store has a yearly giveaway that’s free shoes (I think 1 pair a year) for the rest of your life…I’d take that too!
kookyrunner says
That;s great that your running store had that giveaway every year!
Farrah says
I’ve never even had a sports massage but that’d be on my list! I’m so sore these days!
kookyrunner says
Sports massages are heavenly!
Debbie @ Deb Runs says
I love that you included a free racecation! I would love one of those, too!
kookyrunner says
I so wish I could have unlimited free racecations lol
