Happy Tuesday! It’s time for another edition of Tuesday Topics. This week’s Tuesday Topic: What’s on your Winter bucket list?. This post will be all about my first PeloFondo experience. Remember to link-up with Kim and Zenaida and the bottom of this post.
Here are a few things I would like to do this Winter.
Weekend Skiing Trip
I haven’t gone skiing in many years, but it’s one Winter outdoor activity that I really enjoy, and it’s also a great workout! Because I am not planning on taking a real vacation this year, I am going to take more 3 and 4 day weekends off work throughout the year (well at least that’s the plan for now). Those mini-breaks would be perfect for a short ski trip.
Snowshoe Hiking
I’d have to do some research to see where I can go snowshoeing around here, but it’s always something I wanted to try. I’m not one for running on trails because I am so afraid of falling, but I would try snowshoeing.
Ice Skating
Like skiing, I haven’t gone ice skating in quite some time, but I remember that I used to like it. There are two ice rinks in my city so I just need to pick a day to go 🙂
Tell me: What’s on your Winter Bucket List?

These sound like exciting outdoor activities, Kim!
I think I would like to do cross-country skiing again. It’s a great workout and it keeps you warm. The only problem is that I’m not very good at it, especially if there’s a downhill slope. At least it’s a soft landing!
Kimberly Hatting says
No skiing for this klutz, but I’d love to join you for snowshoeing! I’ve never had the opportunity to try it, but it looks like it would be a fun activity.
kookyrunner says
It looks like it would be such an awesome workout!

I really don’t have a Winter bucket list, but those are all great activities, Kim! Around here there are lots of places to snowshoe (which I’ve never done).
I ice skated again when we first moved here — before I started to run. I’ve always enjoyed it too, but it’s been so long I would be very wobbly! Although when we moved here I hadn’t ice skated in years because we lived in TX. 🙂
kookyrunner says
Oh I would definitely be wobbly if I tried ice skating. I would need to skate close to the wall, lol.

No winter bucket list for me–you know I really enjoy getting out in the snow, so it’s just part of my routine. I haven’t downhill skied in years! I will admit that I would be a little nervous at this point. I am excited to get out again on my snowshoes!
kookyrunner says
Your snowshoe adventures really make me want to try it!
Darlene S. Cardillo says
Great ideas.
I haven’t skied in years. I’d be afraid of breaking something.
Same with ice skating.
But I’d love to snowshoe. We have many places to go. As long as the snow stays around.
My winter bucket list includes racing and trip to Florida.
kookyrunner says
A trip to Florida to escape the Winter cold is a great bucket list item!
Virjinia @ With Purpose and Kindness says
Those sound like fun! I’ve never been snowboarding or skiing so I’d love to give it a shot. I’m woefully unprepared when it comes to cold weather so I’d definitely need to purchase quite a few layers before that trip!
kookyrunner says
I’ve never been snowboarding but I’m too scared to try it!
Jenny says
You definitely have some good winter activities on your winter bucket list! I’ve never skied and am a shaky ice skater so I’m with Darlene- I’m afraid I’d fall and break something. But snowshoeing does sound fun! You can do the skiing and ice skating and post pictures for us- we’ll live vicariously!
kookyrunner says
I would definitely stick to the beginner/bunny slopes if I went skiing, lol. That way I can stay safe.
Black Knight says
Those outdoor activities sound fun.
I have never skied and I have never tried ice skating even if every year in my city we have for a whole month an ice rink.
kookyrunner says
I hope that you’re able to find some fun outdoor activities this Winter!
Deborah Brooks says
I have not gone skiing since I had a ski accident about 15 years ago. I am too afraid to get hurt again. Part of me wishes I could again. Maybe one day!
kookyrunner says
Oh I don’t blame you – that would scare me too!
Denise says
Great winter goals! I hope to go skiing this year. We’ve had a good amount of snow in our local mountains this year and I don’t want to miss out. I went ice skating a few years ago, I not as good as I use to be but it was a lot of fun and I didn’t fall.
kookyrunner says
As long as I stay upright when going ice skating or skiing, I’ll consider that a huge accomplishment, lol.
Jessie says
Snowboarding is so much easier to learn than skiing in my opinion! It’s a lot of falling, but once you get it, it seems easier to become adequate- skiing has so many moving parts, two skis, two poles, ha!
As a Minnesotan, there is an ice skating (or hockey rink to be fair) in every park and tons of people make them in their yards. Its nuts!
kookyrunner says
That’s interesting about snowboarding. I never tried it because I always assumed it would be harder than ice skating!
Zenaida Arroyo says
Fun activities! I’ve only done ice skating and that was many, many years ago. I would like to go skiing just to get away. 🙂 No way will I get on the slopes. Going down scares me. I feel like I am going to fall and end up rolling down. Haha!
kookyrunner says
When skiing I stick to the bunny slopes, lol.
