Happy Tuesday! It’s time for another edition of Tuesday Topics. This week’s Tuesday Topic: What are your six favorites from 2020? You can write about this or any running related blog post. Remember to link-up with Kim and Zenaida and the bottom of this post!
There’s no doubt that last year had a lot of anger and sadness, but there were still positives. Here are my six favorites things from 2020.
Peloton
If you know me, you know this would be on the list. Because I had more time, I really embraced my Peloton bike more, but most importantly, I started using the app a lot to explore different classes. Of course no one wants to be stuck in the house for weeks/months on end, but I am thankful I had that time to try new classes with different instructors instead of just sticking to the cycle classes.
Orangetheory Fitness
Although my studio was closed for 3 months, luckily they reopened during the summer. During the shutdown, I was very impressed with how my studio still communicated with use via email and social media. They also provided awesome at-home challenges that we could take part in as well. I know I’m very lucky to have a studio that feels more like a community, which is something I 100% appreciated during lockdown.
Amazon
I’ve always used Amazon but I really amped up the purchases last Spring/Summer. I knew you could purchase a lot of items on Amazon but I didn’t realize you really can find ANYTHING on their website! I’m thankful for the option to order items online especially when I was really avoiding going to any stores at all.
Netflix
I don’t know about you, but sometimes I just needed a small escape from reality last year. Thankfully Netflix had tons of really good movies, shows and documentaries to choose from – my favorite was Schitt’s Creek.
Athleisure
Boy has my choice of clothing changed since last March! I went from work clothes to athleisure wear and I don’t know if I can ever go back, lol. I love athleisure because it’s comfortable but also stylish/cute. This is pretty much what I wear all week while working at home.
Virtual Chats
Sure, I get burnout from doing so many virtual calls for work, but I ALWAYS enjoy virtual chats with friends and family. Because we can’t hang out with others like we would like, the virtual chats still make me feel super connected to everyone, and they are a lot of fun too!
Tell me: What are your six favorites from 2020?

Haha, I loved Schitt’s Creek as well! Hilarious and light-hearted. What are you watching now?
I like how the OTF crew are like a circle of friends for you – it really makes a difference, especially during the pandemic. My favourites in 2020 were hiking and discovering new local places. There’s so much beauty around us!
kookyrunner says
Totally agree about Schitt’s Creek 🙂 I just finished Bridgerton on Netflix and liked it very much!
Kimberly Hatting says
Schitts Creek is the bomb! I was so sad watching the finale. A fantastic thing that blossomed from the pandemic was the use of virtual chats; I totally agree with you on that 😉 And to think it was there all along LOL It was a year filled with stress and heartache, no doubt, but there were a lot of good things that came from it as well. Those are the things I choose to focus on 😉
kookyrunner says
Me too! I wish they would have kept going with the show but I can understand wanting to end it after 6 seasons. That show was really a gift!
Zenaida Arroyo says
I also love Netflix and I don’t need cable since there is more than enough shows to watch there. I have to check out Schitts Creek. Jogging pants is the best thing for me to wear while working from home. 🙂
kookyrunner says
You would really like Schitt’s Creek!
Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy says
You know, I didn’t even think about Peloton but yes, so glad I signed up for that free trial!
I can — and am at the moment — get deliveries from Whole Foods via Amazon. I actually would prefer to go & pick out my own groceries, but I’m also grateful that this (and Instacart) are options.
I’ve been living in Athleisure for years. 🙂 I have a lot of jean s I almost never wear anymore . .. . I’ve gotten rid of quite a few, but am still holding on to some.
kookyrunner says
That’s awesome that you’re able to get groceries delivered. It’s kind of hit or miss here and it’s hard to get an appointment so that’s why i still limit myself to grocery shopping once a week to limit my exposure as much as possible.

I have to go into the actual office once or twice a week and it’s always a shock to my system as I have to wear “proper clothes”. LOL I’ve gotten so used to leisure wear at home! One of my favourite things from 2020 was being able to work from home. I have pushed for this since my first child was born 8 years ago and I always got a no in response. But Covid showed the company (I guess most companies around the world) that some employees actually do very well at home. I’m so much more productive but still get to spend time with the kiddies and run! So yes, this was my favourite thing from 2020!
kookyrunner says
I think Covid has definitely made companies aware that their employees can work from home and be super productive. I know that I was actually working longer hours when WFG started and I had to set boundaries for myself as to when I needed to log off from work. Even when things go back to “normal” I do think that people will do a hybrid schedule – a few days in the office and a few WFH.
Darlene S Cardillo says
I have been living in running clothes. That way I can jump outdoors.
Netflix is one of my favorites. I started Peleton in 2021. Amazon is dangerous but helpful.
I try to go to stores but truthfully don’t need much these days.
kookyrunner says
That’s a good point! When I know i want to do a lunchtime workout I make sure to put on my workout clothes around 11am so i can just jump from a meeting straight to my workout.
Denise says
Athleisure is the way to go! I love Target’s All In Motion brand. They have a pair of capris that are so light and comfy, I have them in 3 colors. I would wear them every day if I could.
I wear scrubs to work so it’s already like I’m wearing my pajamas.
kookyrunner says
I’ll have to check out that brand in Target – thanks for the suggestion! I normally go to Old Navy for all those types of clothing.
Jenn says
Schitt’s Creek was the BEST. But then it was over and I was sooooo sad. So very sad.
Athleisure is absolutely my jam. Leggings are absolutely pants and I’m not sorry about it at all.
There really are a lot of bright points.
kookyrunner says
I’m totally team leggings as well. They are my new pants. I put on jeans when I want to feel fancy lol.
San says
The Peloton (App!) would have made it on my list, too (I didn’t get around to post today). It’s been such a great tool to have during the pandemic!
I also stared video chatting with family (and friends) more and it’s been a lifeline!
kookyrunner says
It’s awesome how many of us had similar items on our lists!
San says
P.S. I just started watching Schitt’s Creek (I know, I am late to the party)…. so far, I think it’s funny. Not sure if I am getting the hype, but I’ll keep watching. 😉
Michelle @ Running with Attitude says
I feel like I’m missing out by having not watched Schitt’s Creek – I’m going to have to add it to my “watch” list.
Peloton is definitely on my list for favorites from 2020 🙂
This is a great list — gotta focus on the positives right?!
kookyrunner says
Definitely add it to your list!
Deborah Brooks says
I agree Peloton, amazon and Netflix pretty much saved me and the family last year. I would also add taking up walking which I did a ton last year. Cheers to a slightly different list in 2021
kookyrunner says
Totally agree! I was good about taking walks during my lunch breaks when the weather was nicer. I need to get back to doing those.
Jenny says
Ha, amazon for the win! It’s crazy to me how I just click a button and then THE NEXT DAY things show up at my door- how is that even possible??? And you’re right- you literally can get almost everything from them. Including athleisure! We may never have to leave our houses again, other than to go for a run.
kookyrunner says
Yup, Amazon has definitely spoiled me with their quick shipping!
Vanessa Junkin says
I loved Schitt’s Creek and watched it last year as well! I have also been working from home since mid-December (I worked from home, then went back, then was given the opportunity to work from home again) and have been living in my joggers!
kookyrunner says
Joggers are the absolute best – a cut above sweatpants but not as restricting as jeans/slacks, lol.
