Happy Tuesday! It’s time for another edition of Tuesday Topics. This week’s Tuesday Topic: What are your best running views from around the world? You can write about this or any running related blog post. Remember to link-up with Kim and Zenaida and the bottom of this post!
I haven’t travelled much internationally, so I decided to highlight some of my favorite race photos from around the United States.
2013 New York City 10K – Roosevelt Island, NY
This was my first 10K and I loved running around Roosevelt Island. It’s funny because I lived there years prior but wasn’t a runner so I never explored the area by foot!
2014 Spartan Race Citi Field – Queens, NY
A different type of race, but still fun. This was my one and only Spartan Race but it was cool to run through a baseball stadium!
2015 Michelob Ultra Queens 13.1 – Queens, NY
I was born and raised in Queens, NY and would visit Flushing Meadow Park often. Doing a half marathon in the park was SO much fun. This image is my favorite area of the park.
2016 Rock n Roll Chicago 5K – Chicago, IL
If you know me, you know my love for Chicago. It’s an amazing city and I was happy to explore the area on foot during this 5K race.
2018 Shamrock Marathon – Virginia Beach, VA
Running along this section of the race was SUPER windy but it was so beautiufl!
Tell me: What are some of your favorite running views from around the world?

So many great ones! I want to go back to VA Beach just for a better photos with the Triton statue!
Mine weren’t all from races, but there are so many gorgeous views. Kind of helps you forget about the runs themselves!

I love the Triton statue too!

I have not done much worldly travel either ((sigh)). I have run through a baseball stadium and a football field, though! Your pic from Chicago is great, highlighting the theater and the skyline 😉

Always fun to run in sports arenas!

I have never been to Chicago but I’ve read so many great things about this city in different running blogs. As soon as I get a chance to visit the US this will be the city to visit – and I’ll make sure I’ll time it to attend a local race!

I hope you get to visit Chicago – I think you would love it!

Always love racing in NYC. Definitely want to get to Chicago.
Hey now I just want to race anywhere.

I think you would love Chicago, and they have great pizza too! (not better than NY pizza, but still tasty, lol)

Such fun memories, Kim!
My first half was supposed to be the Austin half. For my 50th birthday (I ended up doing a half in Vegas 6 weeks before, a story for another day). Like you, even though we lived in Austin 17 years, and I began my running journey there, I didn’t really run there. So it was so much fun to come back & run through the city!
I have traveled some internationally, but again, I wasn’t a runner at the time. How I wish I had been! Best way to see new places, right?

Running in NYC and Chicago is on my bucket list. Most of my scenic races are on the California coast. My favorites being Big Sur and Carlsbad. Wine country views were great in Solvang and Napa too.

You’ll love running in NYC and Chicago – there’s so much energy in both cities and so much to do there as well.
I’d love to run in Napa!

Virginia Beach seems like a fun one, though it’s always windier by the water, ha!
Ah, races….I miss them!
Thanks for hosting the link-up!

The race was also in March which is also a crapshoot for weather – that year it was kinda cold and windy!

Oh how I miss traveling! I really loved running in Colorado – Bret and I went to Estes Park a few years ago and it was amazing! I wish I had more photos from when we were there!

I would love to do a race in Denver. I know the altitude would be an issue but I’ve heard it’s so pretty there!
Zenaida Arroyo says
I’ve run in Chicago and Virginia Beach too! 🙂 For the latter race I liked that the race ended on the beach. It was a hot day for a race and that felt refreshing. Hopefully soon we can meet up again and race together.
kookyrunner says
I hope that we are able to meet up for a race, maybe next year!

I still have never run a race in NY and I need to make that happen. I loved running in Philly and San Francisco and Vancouver. Best way to see a city right!?
kookyrunner says
I hope that you can run a race in NYC – you would love it!

Ah, nostalgia… races! Great idea for a post since we’re all missing races nowadays. This makes me appreciate how much more interesting our lives are because of running- who else gets to run on a baseball field, in beautiful parks or down the streets of Chicago?
Hope you’re getting in some kooky running this week!

Right?! I never realized how much I used my races to travel to different places!
