Happy Tuesday! This week’s topic for Tuesday Topics is – What are your favorite running views? Feel free to write about this or any running related topic. Remember to Link-up with Kim and Zenaida and the bottom of this post!
What makes a good running view? For me it can be a great scenic route or a place with great architecture and serenity. Here are a few of my favorite places to run because of the views.
Harbor Point (Stamford, CT)
My city isn’t exactly “scenic” since it has lots of streets and buildings, but the Harbor Point section of Stamford is right by the water so the views there are always stunning. I also like to run down there when its warmer because I always get a great breeze off the water.
Las Vegas, Nevada
Although I didn’t have the best race experience when I did Rock n Roll Las Vegas, I have to admit that the views were awesome! Running at night at seeing all of the lights was a once in a lifetime experience and it kept my mind off of the pain in my foot when I was running!
Central Park (New York, New York)
Although I haven’t run in Central Park in well over a year, it still remains one of my favorite places to run because the views are absolutely stunning, especially in the Spring and Fall. There are certain parts that can be hilly, but overall it’s a very pretty place to run, walk or bike.

Topic for next week – Where do you buy your running gear?

I love the views of Central Park!
I was only once there when I ran the NY Marathon, but I would love to run there again.
My favourite running views are from the hilltops around Zurich from where you can see the lake.

Central Park is the best because it’s so large too! I feel like you can spend the whole day there and explore all the different paths and areas.
Kimberly Hatting says
I gotta agree, Vegas is pretty spectacular! I ran downtown San Fran, a few years ago, when we were there…that was pretty neat, too! We were right by China Town. Of course, I loved all the quirky hills LOL

I would love to visit San Francisco one day. I’ve been to San Diego and loved it. There’s just something about the California vibe π
Meranda@Fairytalesandfitness says
All of the views you mentioned are spectacular! My favorite running views are along the water, nicely manicured parks ( like Central Park), and basically anything that is pretty to look at! -M
kookyrunner says
Same here! Anything that is really pretty to look at gets my mind off the fact that I’m running, especially if I’m tired.
Darlene says
I love Central Park. I forgot about Vegas. That was so cool.
My favorite is the ocean. But I donβt see it often.
kookyrunner says
Yup the ocean is great too! I’ve done a few half marathons that ended at a beach and those finish line views were spectacular!

Harbor Point looks very nice. I haven’t been to NY in a long time and I’ve never run there but Central Park and the Brooklyn Bridge would be my two picks. I do most of my running right out of my front door, but there are so many routes in my town that I can choose from. I feel like there are places in my town that I wouldn’t know about if it wasn’t for running.
kookyrunner says
I’ve never run the Brooklyn Bridge but that’s something that I would love to do as well.
Jenn says
Central Park is a favorite view. I also loved running in Bar Harbor, Maine and in Banner Elk, NC. We are also lucky to be able to run on the beach here, which is fabulous.
kookyrunner says
I still need to visit Maine – I’ve heard it’s so beautiful there!
Deborah Brooks says
One of my most favorite runs was in Alaska. Second place Singapore and third Niagara Falls. Oh to travel again!
kookyrunner says
You have run in some amazing places!
Shathiso says
I would love to run in Central Park one day! If only for those spectacular views! Looks amazing! And what an experience that must have been to run through Vegas at night – that would also rank very highly for me!
kookyrunner says
hope that you’re able to run in Central Park one day! It’s a really awesome place to visit.

Anywhere by water always soothes me: mind, body, and soul! I’ve never actually been to Stamford — but anywhere by the water is fine by me. π
kookyrunner says
Agreed! Not only is running by the water beautiful but I love that breeze too π
Zenaida Arroyo says
I’ve never run in Central Park but would like to one day.
I also ran the RnR Las Vegas and the views were great! It was cool running on the strip at night.
kookyrunner says
I hope that you’re able to visit NYC to run in Central Park one day. I would join you!
Janelle @ Run With No Regrets says
We have a lot of great places to run in Philly. The Ben Franklin Bridge is really cool to run over and see the view. And any time I’m surrounded by nature makes me happy, so the Wissahickon and Pennypack Parks are great, especially in the fall. I’ve run in Central Park a couple of times and I love it there too! And running up in the Cape Cod area on one of the trails a few years ago was amazing!
kookyrunner says
I’ve always enjoyed the races I’ve done in Philly even though they have all been in the same area, lol.
Danai @ Living, Learning, Eating says
Definitely wooded/nature over urban for me! I like the peace of it.
kookyrunner says
Yes! Nature can be so peaceful!
