Welcome to another edition of Tuesday Topics! With all of the current craziness going on in the world, let’s focus on something positive and look toward the future. Spring officially started on March 19. Even if it doesn’t quite feel like Spring (it snowed here yesterday) we can think about things that we want to do this season.
This week’s topic – What’s on your Spring bucket list?
Run a race
This seems like such a simple ask, but honestly who knows if we will be able to run any Spring races? I have a local 5K planned for for June 7. As of now, it’s still on (no cancellation yet from race organizers), but we all know that could change any day. I’m sure that I will be a little stir crazy by late Spring so it would be nice to participate in a race and be surrounded by fellow runners. I’ll keep my fingers crossed!
Travel..anywhere
I haven’t traveled anywhere yet this year, so I’d love to go somewhere, even if it’s just for a weekend. Again, this will all depend on the state of everything related to the coronavirus. My friends and I have discussed the possibility of a girls trip to New Orleans in late Fall. Even if I can’t travel anywhere this Spring, I can at least start planning that trip.
Tell me – What’s on your spring bucket list?

Topic for next week – What made you decide to start running?
Catrina says
Yes! You should absolutely start planning that New Orleans Trip in late fall!
I have 3 cancelled races so far. Spring/Summer is a great time to train. And our schedules will be jam-packed with new races very soon!

I feel like the Fall racing season is going to be SO busy for a lot of people!
Chocolaterunsjudy says
I really doubt any spring races are in our future, except virtual (which doesn’t interest me).
Excuse me while I whine: I haven’t traveled anywhere since Feb 2019. Still, trying to look on the positive, so far healthy & that’s the most important thing. As long as I stay healthy I know someday I will travel again!
We got quite a bit of snow hello spring!
kookyrunner says
Hopefully we will both get to travel somewhere, anywhere, this year, lol.
We also got snow yesterday – craziness!

Doing them virtually. Hey miles are miles.
Fingers crossed my May half happens and there’s the Mini in NYC in June.
kookyrunner says
I really hope that things will be back to “normal” by June!
Jenn says
OMG. I miss traveling! Fortunately, our next trip is scheduled for June, so I am hopeful we can make it happen. It would be a really great way to celebrate coming through this ok.
kookyrunner says
I think that your trip in June should still happen and you’re right, it will be a great celebration.
Wendy says
Doing a few virtual races since all my actual races have been cancelled or postponed. I was planning to go see Holly in May but that is looking doubtful.
kookyrunner says
I think I may do a few virtual races as well.
Linda Signal says
New Orleans is my hometown. that would be a wonderful trip.
kookyrunner says
I went there once for a conference and loved it so I can’t wait to go back!
Kimberly Hatting says
Seems like virtual racing is the thing this Spring. We should do a virtual TwinKim Race on your birthday!
kookyrunner says
Oh I love that idea!
Deborah Brooks says
Well my spring bucket list just got dumped out! Right now my spring bucket list is finding toilet paper 🙂 and doing some virtual races
kookyrunner says
LOL – same! I’m considering signing up for a free virtual races too.
Debbie @ Deb Runs says
I hope you can get away with your friends to NO later this year!
My spring to do list included visiting my mom, going to the beach, and running my comeback 5K. We had to cancel our trip to see my mom and even if we hadn’t canceled our trip to the beach, we would have been turned away. Even though we own a house on the OBX, only year-round residents and people who work there are allowed to cross the bridge. My 5K has been postponed, but no new date has been listed…
kookyrunner says
Thanks! We’re really hoping we can make it happen but we don’t want to plan anything right now until things are back to “normal”.
Michelle @ Running with Attitude says
One race postponed so far and I don’t have much hope for the late May or early June races I have on my calendar. I have a feeling by fall I’ll be ready to race every weekend LOL!
NOLA would be fun – I say plan away and hopefully you’ll get that girls’ weekend!
kookyrunner says
Same here! I think my Fall is most likely going to be jam packed!
Zenaida Arroyo says
My 3 races were cancelled (well one was postponed) so now I need to look into Fall races. Racing in the summer is plain crazy. 🙂 I do have one race in July that for sure I will register and hope they don’t cancel it.
kookyrunner says
I’m going to look at Fall races this week. I feel like Fall is going to be a super busy racing season!
De Bolton says
One of my big bucket list got canceled for the.spring. I’ve been so focused on that I need to find other things I’m looking forward to

Last night I signed up for a half marathon in October. This is my crazy way of planning stuff to look forward too lol
