Happy Tuesday! Welcome to another edition of Tuesday Topics. This week’s topic – why are you thankful for running? You can write about this, or any other running related topic. Remember to Link-up with Kim and Zenaida and the bottom of this post!
I’m thankful to running for introducing me to amazing women
Running has introduced me to some pretty amazing women. I know for a fact that I would have never met them if not for running, so for that I am always so thankful. These women are a constant source of support and information – I learn so much from them!

Just a few of the amazing women I have met through running. There are many more not pictured!
I am thankful to running for giving me confidence
I always say that running gave me the ability to turn “can’t” into “can”. If someone would have told me 5 years ago that I would run 4 marathons, I would have let out the loudest laugh because I would say there is absolutely no way I can do that. It’s amazing how constant training can really change you mindset!

4th marathon complete!
I am thankful to running for allowing me to come out of my shell
I am an introvert by nature. I really enjoy my alone and quiet time, which can sometimes hinder me from trying new things or meeting new people. Running has allowed me break out of my shell and be more open to these things. I no longer feel like a wallflower and have an easier time striking up conversations with people and really putting myself out there.
I hope that you have an amazing Thanksgiving holiday!

There is just so much to be thankful for! Grateful for my running friends. And grateful to be running well again!
Yes! I’m so glad that you’ve been able to get back to running this year too.
Yes! Yes! Yes! Full agreement to everything you mentioned 🙂 Even when I started my blog (yikes, almost six years ago), I was fully content to run half marathons, and had ZERO ideals of ever going further. Then, I met some amazing fellow runners and decided to do a “once and done” 26.2…and the rest is history. I’m so thankful you’re a part of that circle <3
LOL funny how that “once and done” never actually happens (I said the same thing). So thankful to running for bringing me my #kimtwin!
You are pretty amazing!!! Have a great Thanksgiving!!
You’re pretty amazing too! Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving 🙂
Love this Kim! So thankful I met you through running 🙂
Happy Thanksgiving!
Hope you have an amazing Thanksgiving!
What a great photo of all the running girls! I have never met anyone of them in person but even as “virtual” friends all of you are awesome!
I am an introvert too, and running as helped me the same way as you: it really helps to be more confident when meeting new people.
It’s really nice when you get to meet virtual running friends in person! 🙂
Yes to all and more.
I knew you would agree 🙂
I agree on all counts, especially as a fellow introvert. Having my own business helped with putting myself out there, too (and here I am back with another business!).
Isn’t it funny how running will get you out of your comfort zone? I love it.
I too am thankful for running and for all of the goals that it has given me so far in my life. Love that running has brought you confidence!
totally agree – running has made me better at setting goals and achieving them.
I am with you on all counts. I especially am thankful for this tribe of runners and all the support we provide each other. Hopefully some day I will meet some of you in person.
Yes – The support provided is so important!
What a lovely post to read! I was just thinking how I’ve so enjoyed “meeting” all these running ladies through the blogs!
Same here! I love that blogging has introduced me to so many amazing runners across the world!
I agree that running and the running community has allowed me to come out of my shell as well. Of course, I am so very thankful for my running friends near and far you included!
Totally agree! I love all the friendships I’ve made through running, including you 🙂
These are great reasons to love running! I agree with you re: meeting amazing women via running. The running community really lends itself to making impactful friendships!
It really does and I’m so thankful for those friendships!
I’m thankful for almost all the same reasons. Running showed me a whole new world of awesome, with great people and self-confidence and I can’t imagine life without it.
I like what you said about running showing you a world of awesome – that’s exactly how I feel!
I loved reading everyone’s “thankful for running” posts! Running definitely changed the direction of my life, and has presented so many amazing opportunities! Super thankful for running!
Same here – Running has changed my life for the better!
I couldn’t agree more! I am so blessed to have met so many amazing people through running and I am especially thankful to call you my friend!
Thanks Linda! I’m thankful to call you a friend too!
