Happy Tuesday and welcome to the first Tunes Tuesday of Spring! I actually laughed after I typed that since I drove to work in snow yesterday, lol. Today’s theme is Throwback Jams (70s, 80s and 90s). These are all great and a few of them have graced my playlist over the years! I actually love Earth, Wind, and Fire’s September. That’s such a great tune. I’m finding that I’m adding more “oldies” to my playlist over the years. What does that say about me?
kookyrunner says
I love that song from Earth, Wind and Fire too! My parents always say I was born in the wrong decade because I love all the music from the 70s.
Zenaida Arroyo says
Wow, just great songs you have here! I have a running playlist on Amazon Prime and will see how many I can add to it.
kookyrunner says
Thanks! I’m a huge fan of older music, especially for running!
Deborah @ Confessions of mother runner says
I think I still have these all on my playlist somewhere! I love the oldies but goodies
kookyrunner says
Me too! And I find myself gravitating toward oldies more and more.
Marcia says
You made a stellar throwback mix my friend! I caught the Bee Gees in concert on PBS recently and was riveted. Love me some Hall & Oates too…oh and Michael! Yes to all!
kookyrunner says
My birthday present from my sister this year was tickets to see Hall & Oates in concert in June – I’m SO excited!
Janelle @ Run With No Regrets says
Fun list!! So much of my favorite music is decades old, lol. I actually went back to 2000-2009 for this month…it’s my all-time favorite!
kookyrunner says
You picked an awesome decade for music this month!
Rach @ Girl On The Run says
Haha, these are great!! If a song can make me smile in the middle of a long ass training run, it’s definitely worth adding to my list.
kookyrunner says
I’m the same way! If a song can make me smile it’s a keeper!
Jennifer @ Fit Nana says
OMG, I have all of these songs on my iPod!! LOL!!
I have this idea that will probably never come to fruition because, well, I just can’t see anyone wanting to join me but…. I would love to have a “cheer station” at a marathon where we played all disco music and dressed in appropriate costume. LOL! Just picture it – platforms, psychedelic prints, bell bottoms, and a big ole boom box blasting Boogie Wonderland, Hot Stuff, etc. *sigh* Maybe one day. haha 😀
kookyrunner says
LOL looks like we both have awesome taste in music!
Umm…your cheer station idea is AMAZING and if I lived closer to you we could do it at Shamrock one year!
Lesley says
Yup, most of my music is either from growing up, or the music my parents listen to, with all the good oldies. I follow a couple groups and will buy their new songs, but I don’t keep up with the current hits.
kookyrunner says
We’re definitely very similar when it comes to music!
Kimberly Hatting says
Ha!! I LOVE all of these 😉 I like some newer stuff, but my Ipod is a mix of a whole lotta retro stuff. Every now and then, I’ll hear a Michael Jackson song and realize I don’t have that and NEED it pronto (ahem…Smooth Criminal).
kookyrunner says
It’s funny that you mention Smooth Criminal because I just added that to my list as well!
Fairytales and fitness says
I heard an old 80’s song on the radio yesterday and it inspired me to want to make an 80’s playlist.
kookyrunner says
Some of the best music was definitely during the 80s!
Clarinda says
Aw, yeah! Some great throwback songs here. 🙂 I used to say that 80s were my favorite jam, but I’ve recently rediscovered the 90s, so that decade is at the top of my list right now.
kookyrunner says
It’s a toss up between the 80s and the 90s – so many great songs from both decades!
