It’s the first Tuesday of the month so today’s theme is Motivation.
Let’s talk about Miss Spears, Britney Spears that is! Whenever you hear a Britney Spears song, you just know that you are going to have a good time. Sometimes I really like hearing song that I can dance to when a run is getting boring or a workout is getting difficult. These are two of her songs that definitely motivate me through a run or workout.
Song: Work B*tch
Album: Britney Jean
Artist: Britney Spears
Genre: EDM
Year Released: September 2013
Lyrics that Motivate Me:
“Bring it on, ring the alarm
Don’t stop now, just be the champion
Work it hard, like it’s your profession
Watch out now, cause here it comes
Here comes the smasher, here comes the master
Here comes the big beat, big beat disaster
No time to quit now, just time to get it now
Pick up what I’m putting down
Pick up what I’m putting down”
Song: Me Against the Music
Album: In the Zone
Artist: Britney Spears f/ Madonna
Genre: Dance/Hip Hop
Year Released: October 2003
Lyrics that Motivate Me:
“All my people on the floor let me see you dance
All my people up for more let me see you dance
All my people, ’round and ’round let me see you dance
All my people in the crowd, let me see you dance”

Janelle @ Run With No Regrets says
Yes to Britney!! So many great songs. I haven’t listened to either of these in a while!

Sometimes I forget how much I love her songs – I prefer her older stuff
Marcia says
I definitely had Britney’s Work song on my playlist! Was it last summer?? I should add it back. Not familiar with the one with Madonna, but I like it!
kookyrunner says
The song with Madonna is one of her older songs but it’s still great!
Steff says
YES! I saw her in Vegas and lost my mind. It was amazing!
kookyrunner says
Oh I’m so jealous! I know that was an amazing live show!

I’m one of those rare people that do NOT run with music. I like to zone out and listen to my thoughts, the birds, etc.! But when I’m at the gym lifting, I’m all about music to help get me through. I love harder stuff, Rise Against, Rage Against the Machine, etc. Angry music makes me lift heavier, haha!
kookyrunner says
I can totally relate! Loud rock music can definitely help you lift heavier weights!
Rachel says
I have to admit, I don’t listen to Britney. When she first came out and had that slutty school girl video I was totally annoyed. Haha. I never recovered from that. I should give her another chance maybe.
kookyrunner says
LOL I understand your reasoning, but I think you should give her another chance!
Mary Beth Jackson says
Oh, you gotta love a little Britney! She can get you moving! I love the old Janet Jackson stuff too!
kookyrunner says
I am a huge fan of Janet’s older songs too!
Sandra says
I have to admit that I do love some good Britney Spears. Her music is so upbeat which makes it great for working out. Plus I always love to belt it out along with her!
kookyrunner says
I love that her music is so unbeat. Het music helps me on the treadmill (makes the time fly by)
Toni says
His looks like a great song for motivation….I use eye of the tiger or you’re the best for my power songs.
kookyrunner says
I’m a big fan of Eye of the Tiger also
Kathryn @ Dancing to Running says
Oh Britney. I did a dance team dance in high school to “Me Against the Music.” Such a fun, energetic song!
kookyrunner says
That must have been so fun. What a great song for a dance team!
Cassandra says
I like songs without alot of energy most of the time, but sometimes I’m in the mood for some of my 80s hair bands and pop music.
kookyrunner says
Sometimes a good pop song can give you a lot of energy
Jenn says
Love me some Britney! She always gets me moving!
kookyrunner says
Same here!
Patty @ Reach Your Peak says
Work B*tch is always on my running and marathon playlists lol. Gets me so pumped. During NYC Marathon it came on at mile 24…right when I needed it!
kookyrunner says
That’s a perfect spot for it to come one, especially after the false flat in mile 23!
