Happy Thanksgiving Eve! (Is that a thing?) Anyways, with Black Friday right around the corner, I thought it would be a good time to share my holiday gift guide for runners. This year I wanted to think outside of the box and include some unique gift ideas.
As always, I’m linking up with Annmarie from The Fit Foodie Mama, Jen from Pretty Little Grub, Michelle at Fruition Fitness and Nicole from Nicole from FitFul Focus for Wild Workout Wednesday.
Let’s get started!
Mophie Powerstation Mini – $27.00
Nothing is worse than trying to use your phone after a run, only to see 10% battery, or worse, no battery! If you use your phone to listen to music or take photos during a run, it’s very easy to drain the battery. The Mophie Powerstation Mini is a great external battery that you can keep in your running belt or hydration backpack, or you can check it with your other clothing items if a race has a bag check option. The external battery can also charge your iPod as well.
Pro Compression 2016 Holiday Sock – $50 $30
Let me give you a hint, if you want these socks, I suggest that you join the Pro Compression newsletter so that you can get an email when they are released on December 1st. These socks sold out SUPER FAST last year – and rightfully so, look at how cute there are! If you’re planning on doing a holiday race, these socks are a must! You can use promo code GIFT16 to get 40% off bringing the price down to $30 + FREE SHIPPING (original price $50).
Update – Also save 50% off all black styles with code BLK (good through 11/26)!
HotHands Hand Warmers and Hot Snapz Reusable Hand Warmers – $8.99 – 14.99
Although it seems like summer will not go away in certain parts of the country, winter will be here before you know it! Living on the East Coast, I am used to bundling up for my December-February runs…it gets COLD here! One thing that helps me stay warm are hand warmers. Even with gloves on my hands are often the last thing to “warm up” during a winter run. Hand warmers are a great way to keep your hands warm and also avoid frostbite! Depending on how often the runner will use them, you can select between a disposable or reusable option!
Cookbooks for Runners – $10-$20
Nutrition is super important to runners, but it can be boring to eat the same thing over and over day after day. In addition, runners are often pressed for time so they need quick and easy meals. This is why I love all the various cookbooks for runners that you can find on Amazon. Here are a few of my favorites:
Run Fast, Eat Slow: Nourishing Recipes for Runners
Runner’s World Meals on the Run: 150 energy-packed recipes in 30 minutes or less
The Runner’s World Cookbook: 150 Ultimate Recipes for Fueling Up and Slimming Down
The Feed Zone Cookbook: Fast and Flavorful Food for Athletes
Project Repat T-Shirt Quilt – $74.99 – $239.99
My first experience with Project Repat was last year and I was super happy with the result. I sent in more t-shirts a few weeks ago and I received my new quilt recently:
Let’s face it, runners have a TON of race shirts. Sure, there are some shirts that we hold onto for sentimental value (first race, favorite race, etc), but for the most part we just end up wth a drawer full of unworn dress shirts. Instead of the shirts taking up real estate in your drawer, they could be joined together to make an awesome quilt. Click here to save 15% on your order.
Just a few more facts about Project Repat:
-Over 80,000 customers have trusted the company to preserve their t-shirt memories
-The company is located in the USA
-The quilt is backed with PolarTec fleece which not only makes it warm, but the fleece is made out of recycled bottles!
-Fantastic customer service – If you have a question, they always respond back within 24 hours
-They are currently still accepting holiday orders
Roll Recovery R8 Roller – $119
Yes, it’s a bit on the expensive side, which is why I haven’t purchased it for myself or anyone else, but I have heard nothing but great things about this roller. You’ll see that it’s shaped different from all other rollers. You can adjust it for all different body sizes and it offers a deep tissue massage for your muscles. Due to it’s design, it’s especially great for the IT band area, as well as your quads and hamstring. Several of my running buddies have this roller and they swear by it because it’s super easy to use and very effective! I actually might add this to my wish list this year!
I hope I was able to provide you with some great gift ideas! If you have any other unique gift ideas to share, I’d love for you to list those in the comments section! I hope that everyone has a great Thanksgiving – Gobble Gobble!

The mophie powerstation is great! I never leave home without it and it has saved my butt many times when my phone has died!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Anna @ Piper's Run says
I have a similar powerstation but never thought of taking it on my run with me to keep my phone charge! Great idea! I love PC socks and might just have to get a pair of these! The Meals on the Run cookbook is amazing, I love how they have vegan recipes too. It keeps everyone in my house happy!

I was just looking into the book Run Fast, Eat Slow, but it did look like it had some complicated recipes in it. I like simple ones or I know I won’t even attempt it. That R8 looks cool, but that is pretty pricey so I do not think will add that to my list. I have been wanting to get one of those quilts made. Hopefully one of these years.
Nicole @ Fitful Focus says
I just bought a little portable charger! It came in handy after the NYC Marathon for sure!
kookyrunner says
Me too! My older phone had a horrible battery life so I knew I would need a portable charger at the end of the race!
Zenaida Arroyo says
I have the Roll Recovery R8 Roller but it hurts to use it! Those Pro Compression socks are so cute! I remember last year how they sold out right away. But I am not liking so much the green ones.
kookyrunner says
I really want the R8 roller even though it might hurt, lol
Jen @ SprinklesHikes.com says
This is a great list with a wide range of things for runners of any experience level. Love this!
