Happy Sunday! Did everyone have a good week? It felt like there was a lot jammed into this week between the Super Bowl, Valentine’s Day and then the long holiday weekend.
Here’s how my workouts went this week:
Monday, February 13
Warm Up Walk 9/7/22 – Tobias (10 minutes)
Saturday60: 2000’s Bootcamp 2/11/23 – Jess (60 minutes)
Castile-La Mancha Ride (30 minutes)
My body felt a little beat down when I woke up (probably from back-to-back OTF classes over the weekend). This was the first Saturday60 with members in the studio since before Covid. You could tell how excited Jess was as soon as the class started. Luckily her excitement didn’t mean she tried to kill us during class, lol. It was still hard, but more tame than I was expecting.
Tuesday, February 14
BHM Celebration Ride 2/13/23 – Tunde (30 minutes)
BHM Celebration Run 2/13/23 – Kirsten (30 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness – “Heart Work” (60 minutes)
Happy Valentine’s Day π I had a morning date with Peloton and OTF. Peloton has started releasing more Black History Month classes and these two classes by Tunde and Kirsten were absolutely amazing! The OTF template designers chose violence with this template. It just felt like 60 minutes of straight cardio. All of the floor blocks involved high energy bodyweight exercises, including tons of burpees. The treadmill block was more of a run/row so I was getting splat points left and right, lol.
Wednesday, February 15
BHM Celebration Ride 2/9/23 – Ally (30 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness (60 minutes)
Broadway Walk 2/15/23 – Matty (20 minutes)
Strength Roll Cole: Core 2/1/23 – Callie (10 minutes)
OTF decided to bless up with inclines for this template – ugh! It wasn’t as bad as I was expecting, so that was good. We also got to lift heavy during the floor block. I was thankful to slow down and really focus on form, etc. I was able to take Matty’s walk live and it ended up being my 350th walk. I always love unexpected milestones.
Thursday, February 16
Prince Ride 2/12/23 – Cliff (20 minutes)
Motown Ride 2/9/23 – Hannah C (20 minutes)
2000s Run 2/16/23 – Jess (30 minutes)
Flash 15 11/5/21 – Jess (15 minutes)
2000s Walk 2/16/23 – Jess (15 minutes)
This was a fun block! Peloton is releasing more Artist Series rides in German over the next few weeks. The first one was Prince with Cliff and he had a great playlist – it was a fun ride. Jess had two live classes (a run and a walk) that worked with my schedule so I was able to jump on those and I did a Flash 15 in-between both class.
Friday, February 17
Hip Hop Ride 2/15/23 – Tunde (30 minutes)
Dancehall Run 2/16/23 – Joslyn (30 minutes)
Core Strength 1/4/23 – Olivia (5 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness (60 minutes)
Both Tunde’s ride and Joslyn’s run had awesome music. I took the day off work so I could have a 4-day weekend (we get off on Monday for President’s Day) so I took a later morning OTF class which ended up being a 3G instead of a 2G. Sometimes I like the 3G classes because it means there’s a dedicated row block. Overall it was a really great class.
Saturday, February 18
Rock Ride 2/15/23 – Kendall (20 minutes)
Core Strength 12/20/22 – Robin (5 minutes)
Flash 15 2/1/23 – Jess (15 minutes)
Dance Music Ride 2/16/23 – Emma (20 minutes)
Mood Walk: Calm 5/18/22 – Matty (20 minutes)
Mood Walk: Grateful 5/18/22 – Jermaine (20 minutes)
I didn’t feel like running when I woke up so I decided to do the cycle and strength classes first. I still didn’t feel like running when I finished those classes, so I decided to run an errand while it was still early in the morning. When I finished my errand, I still didn’t feel like running so I didn’t force it and decided to do some power walking instead.
Sunday, February 19
Sample That Ride 2/18/23 – Denis (30 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness – Lift45 (45 minutes)
Reggaeton HIIT Cardio 2/18/23 – Rad (30 minutes)
Peloton re-branded Denis’ Fresh Friday rides and they are now called Sample That. I love, love, love these rides because I am always interested in learning which songs/artists sample songs – I always learn something new. Today’s Lift45 template was SO darn good! It more than made up for the wacky class last Sunday.
This week’s stats:
Bootcamp – 60 minutes
Cycle – 48.03 miles
Orangetheory Fitness – 225 minutes
Running – 14 miles
Strength Training – 50 minutes
Peloton Artist Series Classes – 933/936*
*not including rowing classes
This was week 5 of the Transformation Challenge, so only 3 more weeks to go. I did fall a little off track with my nutrition this week but it’s all about everything in moderation, right? One thing I have really enjoyed is the inclusion of the Lift45 classes on Sunday mornings. Sometimes I don’t want to focus on cardio and these classes are great for that.
…and now for this week’s memes/funny tweets.
That’s it! I hope you had a great week π
Iβm linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.
In Case You Missed It
Tuesday Topics: Why I Love Running
When you’re hungry and someone is trying to be funny…especially about food, ha!
You’ll be proud of me Kim, I just purchased an in-studio tread class at the London Peloton studio! I’m on the waitlist for this one (trying to join a friend) but even if I don’t get in, it does mean I’ll be going at some point soon since I bought the class and it does expire!
The food meme is me anytime I am starving. I literally don’t want anyone to bother me.
Hooray for purchasing the in-studio pass for London. That is SO exciting! When you get in for a class you will have to let us know.
You did a lot of classes this week! I used to do all of Denisβ cycle classes and then moved to Cody in the past few months. I have to check out the new series. I am glad you getting a few extra days off! Hope you have some of the fab springlike weather that we are as well to enjoy
You can’t go wrong with Cody or Denis. I did Cody’s XOXO ride yesterday and it was so funny.
Well, I don’t think there’s anything cuter than a baby llama! Ha ha, I keep going back to look at that picture- I love it.
You had a great week! You’re really killing it with the OT lately. I agree, it was a busy week- glad you’re enjoying a four day weekend.
Right?! Such a cute animal.
I definitely enjoyed the 4 day weekend but now it’s sadly back to the grind.
Wow. What a full week of workouts. You are totally inspiring.
Thanks Darlene!
Ooh, you gave me some great recommends for cycling (Tunde and Ally BHM rides and Denis’ Sample That), thanks!!! I’ll be riding later (during the Iowa BB game),but I might use these rides for tomorrow morning). I listened to Matty’s Broadway walk while I was doing my 100 flights Friday morning…he’s so fun! Anyways, you had another solid week of sweat equity. Nicely done!!
Happy to give Peloton class recommendations!
I love Matty’s classes – he’s such a great storyteller
You really crushed it this week and congrats on walk #350! I don’t do Peloton, but I do love how they let you all celebrate your milestones!
Have a great week!
thanks Wendy! The walking milestone was a shocker, I had no clue I had done that many walks lol
You got a lot of activity in this week. Nice mileage too. I hope you’re enjoying the long weekend!
Thanks! I really enjoyed the long 4-day weekend but now it’s back to the grind unfortunately!
Oh, thanks for explaining the Sample rides β I did like the Fresh Fridays so will check them out.
I did Adrianβs BHM Outdoor run yesterday and it was really good β basically a tribute to his upbringing and his mom and grandma. <3
I hope you enjoy the rest of your long weekend!
Yup the Sample That rides are pretty much the Fresh Friday rides – such a great concept for a class.
Awwe I will have to do Adrian outdoor BHM run this week. I actually have it bookmarked.
You took a great line-up of classes – I’ve bookmarked many of them so thanks for that! π
Enjoy the long weekend! I’m giddy about having Monday off!
Always happy to give my Peloton class recommendations!
Great week of workouts, Kim! Sometimes you just don’t feel like a run and it’s good not to force it on yourself – a power walk was a good substitute.
Thanks Debbie! Totally agree about powerwalking – I really like it as an alternative, especially when I can add incline on the treadmilll.
I want the baby llama. That is all.
Great workouts this week! I am so happy you could get a four day weekend. It will be so good for you.
Me too! It’s such a cute animal π
Yes, all in moderation. Life isn’t worth living if there are no treats.
Way to go on the challenge, and yes sometimes walk > run
“Luckily her excitement didnβt mean she tried to kill us during class, lol. ”
LOL. YES! Because she’s so guilty of that.
Exactly! I always look forward to treats π
Hooray for a long weekend! Hope you enjoyed it. Great workouts this week as always. And love that baby llama! π
Isn’t that llama meme so cute?! It gives me an instant smile.
You definitely get plenty of movement so you’re right — no sense forcing a run.
The baby llama is so cute! But microwave? I resemble that remark. π
Thanks Judy. Sometimes I feel guilty when I don’t do my planned worked, which is so silly!
OMG the hungry meme! TRUTH! Haha! Great week of workouts Kim! It definitely felt hectic here going from SB to VDay to our trip to ATL with a blizzard thrown in for spice. Ha! Things need to settle down here but now we’ve got an ice storm in progress. Ugh.
The hungry meme is 100% me, lol
