Happy Sunday! Did you have a good week? The weather here was pretty yucky (lots of rain) but nonetheless it was a good week.
Here’s how my workouts went this week:
Monday, January 16
XOXO, Cody Ride 4/12/22 – Cody (30 minutes)
Duran Duran Run 1/11/23 – Jon (30 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness – “Power Hour” (60 minutes)
Somehow I missed this XOXO, Cody ride when it happened last year (no clue how). I love all of his XOXO classes so I knew I had to take this one. Jon’s Duran Duran run was so great! I always have such a good time when I take his classes. His humor and personality is infectious. It was the first day of the Transformation Challenge so OTF gave us a “Power Hour” workout. I really enjoyed it because it had a bunch of power type moves everywhere – floor, treadmill and rower.
It was also my mom’s birthday! It was nice to have a day off work due to the MLK Day holiday to help her celebrate her birthday.
Tuesday, January 17
HIIT Cardio 1/16/23 – Ben (10 minutes)
Two for One Top 10 Hits Ride 9/14/21 – Cliff & Erik (30 minutes)
Arms & Shoulders Strength 8/28/20 – Jess (20 minutes)
Pop Run 8/4/20 – Jess (30 minutes)
Extra 10: Run 1/9/23 – Hannah (10 minutes)
Starting off with a quick HIIT cardio class is a great way to get my blood flowing before starting my workout stack. I have been going through some of my older bookmarked cycle classes and found this gem – it was really good! The strength class had a LOT of push-ups which was pretty brutal. The pop run had a great playlist and several listening games so it made the run go by quickly, and the extra 10 classes are great when you want to add a little more mileage.
Wednesday, January 18
Mood Ride: Happy 5/26/21 – Cody (20 minutes)
Core Strength 1/17/23 – Robin (5 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness (60 minutes)
Walk + Run 12/18/22 – Jess (30 minutes)
Over a year ago Peloton released their mood series classes. I have had a few of these classes bookmarked forever so i decided to do Cody’s happy class and it was so much fun. Robin’s 5 minute core class was short but spicy! She moved through a bunch of moves twice with no breaks so it was just constant movement. The OTF class was a repeat of the crazy tornado template we had back on January 2. In comparing both workout summaries, I pretty much had the same calorie burn and splat points, but got a little more distance on the treadmill this time.
Thursday, January 19
Kygo Ride 1/18/23 – Erik (30 minutes)
EDM Run 1/19/23 – Jess (15 minutes)
Extra 10: Hike 11/1/22 – Rebecca (10 minutes)
Walk + Run 1/19/23 – Jess (20 minutes)
Bodyweight Strength 1/29/20 – Jess (20 minutes)
Kygo Power Yoga Flow 1/18/23 – Aditi (30 minutes)
I spent a lot of time with Jess Sims during this stack, including two live workouts. It’s always nice when my schedule allows me to take a live class during the week. I also did two of the Kygo Artist Series classes. I’ve never heard of this artist so I wasn’t sure what to expect but it wasn’t too bad.
Friday, January 20
Kygo Ride 1/18/23 – Ben (30 minutes)
Kygo Walk + Run 1/18/23 – Joslyn (30 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness (60 minutes)
I knocked out two more of the Kygo classes. The OTF class was hard AF. I actually asked the coach how long the last floor block was because I was struggling big time, but I guess every now and then it’s good to have that type of workout.
Saturday, January 21
Intervals Run 8/25/22 – Jess (15 minutes)
Kygo Run 1/18/23 – Marcel M (30 minutes)
Upper Body Strength 1/21/23 – Robin (20 minutes)
Fresh Friday Ride 8/30/19 – Denis (30 minutes)
I celebrated my 800th strength class with Robin. When I logged in and saw that she was wearing yellow, I knew it was going to be a spicy workout, lol. It was a great upper body burn. I dug into the archives for the Fresh Friday ride from 2019 with Denis – it was great!
Sunday, January 22
Two for One: Power Zone Ride 1/18/20 – Denis & Matt (60 minutes)
Orangetheory Lift 45 (45)
The two for one power zone class was SO good! This is another class I have had bookmarked forever so I was happy to finally take it. I haven’t taken a Lift45 class in a while but I want to start doing them at least twice a month to help me with my strength training goal this year. It was much harder than I remember and I definitely worked my muscles to fatigue.
This week’s stats:
Bootcamp – 0 minutes
Cycle – 46.79 miles
Orangetheory Fitness – 180 minutes
Running – 19.4 miles
Strength Training – 110 minutes
Peloton Artist Series Classes – 927/930*
*not including rowing classes
Week 1 of the Transformation Challenge is in the books! I added a 4 class this week – the Lift45 class. During these classes there is no cardio (rower or treadmill). The sole focus is strength training. As far as nutrition I am prioritizing my protein intake. This is something I struggle with so I downloaded the Lose It app so that I can keep better track of my protein intake for each meal. I don’t like tracking (I find it tedious) but my hope is that I can do this for a few weeks, get a better sense of which meals will help me meet my protein goals, and then I won’t have to track anymore.
These are my goals for the challenge:
…and now for this week’s memes/funny tweets.
Thanks to Deborah for sending me these two!
That’s it! I hope you had a great week 🙂
I’m linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

Haha I felt a few of those memes! Another great week, Kim, and congrats on 800 strength classes! Did you get a shout-out?
Happy birthday to your mom!
kookyrunner says
No shoutout during the strength class but that’s okay because I was too busy cursing at the screen, lol.
My mom said Thank you!
Deborah Brooks says
Congrats on 800 strength classes! I really like your goals for your OTF challenge. Happy birthday to your mom hope she had a great day. All of those memes were great this week!
kookyrunner says
Thanks! The next 8 weeks should be fun.
My mom says Thank you! 🙂

Ha ha… those memes. I’ve also been tracking my protein lately, after it came to my attention that I really wasn’t getting enough. Right now I’m counting grams but like you, I’m hoping that eventually I won’t have to think about it.
Congrats on your 800th strength class!
kookyrunner says
I thought i was pretty good at getting in enough protein but after tracking I realize I was waaayyy off! Tracking has opened my eyes to this so I’m thankful for that.
Kimberly Hatting says
Wow, you really had an intense week, #KimTwin! I honestly do not pay attention to the artist series, unless it’s someone I recognize…case in point, Kygo? I’ve seem the early bird/night owl/exhausted pigeon meme…totally funny! I”ve thought about sending the 401K meme to a few of my non-running friends….
kookyrunner says
Never heard of Kygo but I always try to give those “new to me” artists a chance.
Susanne says
I absolutely love those work-related memes! The “I’m too old for this shit” etc is spot on….
I’ve also been thinking of tracking my macros but I find it so hard! How do you do it? I’m thinking I’d need to weigh everything to know the exact protein value? However I’d also like to do it for a month or so, to learn approximately what amount of macros and also calories are in my food.
kookyrunner says
The work-related memes are always the most funny to me since there’s always an element of truth to them.
For the tracking, right now I’m just focused o tracking all of my meals, and then looking at the protein break down. Once I’m happy with that, I’ll look at fat and carbs breakdown to get that were I want it to be – it’s all about baby steps for me!
Michelle says
I’m so feeling that work meme and the pigeon mug LOL!
I struggle with my protein intake too. I’m not a fan of tracking but it does help me to focus.
Congrats on 800 strength classes.
kookyrunner says
I kind of want the pigeon mug lol
Tracking drives me crazy but I know that it’s a good way to help me accomplish my goals for the next few weeks.
Coco says
LOL on the vet meme! I think one of my MRTT friends has @exhaustedpigeon as her LB name. I wonder if she has that mug
Great job on the OTF workouts and week one of the challenge. I can’t believe to do OTF and Peloton on the same day. Either is enough!
kookyrunner says
OMG that’s the best LB name, LOL.
The vet meme made me laugh out loud because when I really thought about it, why do they knock before coming in?? lol
Debbie says
HaHa,” I have eggs down here.” Too funny!
Happy belated birthday to your mom!
kookyrunner says
That meme made me laugh! It’s crazy how much eggs are now, and I saw a video of a long line of people waiting to buy eggs in Costco!
Jessie says
800 strength classes- what a commitment Kim! Nice work.
Happy birthday to your mom.
That 5 minute core with Robyn sounds awesome, I’m going to do it today twice for my daily 10 min of core goal!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Jessie! I think I overdid it with the weights this week as my body is SO sore today, lol.
Marcia says
Happy Birthday to your mom and congrats on 800 strength classes! Wow! Great week of workouts as always. I’ve heard of Kygo but I have no clue what music they do. Haha! I guess that needs to change!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Marcia!

In winter unfortunately I feel like that last meme!
I love how you can tell what the workout will be like just by the color of the instructor’s tee!
Happy Birthday to your mom!
kookyrunner says
Yes, Robing is known to wear yellow for her super hard classes so I automatically knew I was in trouble, lol
