Happy Sunday! I hope that everyone had a good week. I’m currently enjoying a 3-day weekend, and for once we will have perfect weather the entire time with no rain – hooray!
Here’s how my workouts went this week:
Monday, May 22
Bruce Springsteen Walk + Run 5/19/23 – Susie (30 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness “Flash Forward” (60 minutes)
Mental Health Awareness Yoga Flow 5/19/23 – Anna (30 minutes)
The OTF workout was SUPER confusing. It got to the point that I just mentally checked out about halfway through. I get that the Mayhem templates are supposed to be harder – but that doesn’t mean that they need to be complicated. There was just too much going on – partner workout, quick 6-7 minute blocks, reverse order or exercises, etc.
On the plus side, Anna’s yoga flow was really calming and beautiful – I enjoyed it a lot.
Tuesday, May 23
Mental Health Awareness Ride 5/21/23 – Erik (30 minutes)
K-Pop Walk 5/20/23 – Rebecca (20 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness “Hit the Switch” (60 minutes)
Lewis Capaldi Full Body Stretch 5/22/23 – Ben (10 minutes)
There was so much going on during this workout that it made it go by quickly. Lots of switching between stations so there wasn’t enough time to hate anything while you were doing it lol.
Wednesday, May 24
Mental Health Awareness Walk 5/19/23 – Robin (30 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness “Jumpstart” (60 minutes)
Bollywood Pilates 5/23/23 – Aditi (20 minutes)
In my opinion this was the hardest Mayhem workout of the week. I had already decided to powerwalk the treadmill block because it was absolutely insane and I still ended up with way more splat points that I planned. Also the strength block was super leg focused. I think the more appropriate name for the workout should have been “Screw Your Legs”.
Thursday, May 25
Orangetheory Fitness “Power Surge” (60 minutes)
Pop Walk 5/11/23 – Jess (20 minutes)
Mood Ride: Sweet 2/14/22 – Camila (20 minutes)
Jonas Brothers Yoga Flow 5/25/23 – Aditi (20 minutes)
I was just kind of going with the flow for this workout. I didn’t sleep well so just getting to the class was a win in my book.
Friday, May 26
Jonas Brothers Ride 5/25/23 – Camila (30 minutes)
90s Run 5/25/23 – Jess (15 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness “High Voltage” (60 minutes)
The 90s run was great! It’s rare to see 15 minute runs, especially by Jess. Her playlist was great.
Of course OTF has the end Mayhem with a doozie of a workout. It was truly a nonstop workout It was a 3G style so we had equal time on the floor, treadmill and rower. I did the rower last and I literally had to sit on the rower for a minute to catch my breath – it was brutal. Everyone looked so defeated at the end of the workout, lol.
Saturday, May 27
Bruce Springsteen Ride 5/17/23 – Jenn (45 minutes)
Bruce Springsteen Cool Down Ride 5/17/23 – Sam (10 minutes)
Bruce Springsteen Full Body Strength 5/18/23 – Andy (30 minutes)
I absolutely loved the playlist for the strength class, but for the ride? Not so much. I know Jenn was super excited to get this class (she actually said she has been asking to do it for 10 years) but the playlist left much to be desired (in my opinion). Maybe it’s because I know more of his mainstream songs and the playlist didn’t really focus on those.
Sunday, May 28
Cro Run 5/26/23 – Mayla (30 minutes)
Cool Down Walk 12/20/22 – Jeffrey (5 minutes)
Cro Warm Up Ride 5/26/23 – Cliff (10 minutes)
Cro Ride 5/28/23 – Erik (30 minutes)
Cro Core Strength 5/26/23 – Marcel M (20 minutes)
Cro Yoga Flow 5/27/23 – Nico (20 minutes)
I’ve never heard of the German rap artist, Cro, but this video on Instagram made me laugh. I was also intrigued by the panda mask, lol. Overall the music was pretty good and I saved a few songs to download later on today.
This week’s stats:
Bootcamp – 0 minutes
Cycle – 28.17 miles
Orangetheory Fitness – 300 minutes
Running – 10 miles
Strength Training – 70 minutes
Peloton Artist Series Classes – 1,008/1,018*
*not including rowing classes
I survived All Out Mayhem 2023! Overall my body was never sore but definitely felt very, very fatigued. Doing OTF workouts 7 days in a row is a bit intense, so I wouldn’t recommend it, but this was a mini-challenge that I wanted to see if I could accomplish. Would I do this again? Most likely NO, lol. Sticking to doing 4 out of the 7 workouts is A-OK with me.
I’m looking forward to having the day off work tomorrow for Memorial Day and getting back to my more “normal” workout routine as well.
That’s it! I hope you had a great week 🙂
I’m linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

I am trying to woo my husband over to Peloton with the Springsteen classes LOL. He is a huge fan so maybe it will work. I had no idea you did the Pilates classes too! What do you think? I could never get into it back in the day. I’ve been liking the peloton barre w Hannah. Solid week for you!

I would say that Andy’s full body Bruce Springsteen strength class had the best playlist so maybe suggest he try out that class first before the others. lol.
Jenny says
Congratulations on completing Mayhem! It sound really intense. I can see why you wouldn’t want to do it again, but it must have been a fun challenge. Enjoy your 3 day weekend!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Jenny! Some days were more intense than others. I am glad I was able to get through all seven classes and my body appreciate the break from OTF this weekend!
Kimberly Hatting says
Way to rock the Mayhem! I love seeing all the cycling classes you’re knocking out! Myself, I don’t know when I’ll get in my next Pelo cycling class since I’m outside all the time now. We haven’t had rain for awhile (going on three weeks, I think), so I haven’t “needed” to do any indoor cycling. I hope you enjoy your 3-day weekend, #KimTwin 😉
kookyrunner says
I think it’s a great idea to do more outdoor cycling now – especially because you never know if you’ll send up having a long, cold winter.
Jessie says
Woo Mayhem sounds wild (though complicated workouts aren’t my thing- that’s why I love running, super simple. 🙂
Great week Kim! Enjoy that perfect weather for the 3 day weekend!
kookyrunner says
Yeah sometimes OTF makes the templates way too complicated. I guess they think that keeps things interesting but it just ends up annoying people lol.
Coco says
Congrats on getting through Mayhem. It sounds brutal!
I need really upbeat music to get me through a ride and wasn’t sure Springsteen would do it for me. I did enjoy Andy’s strength class but I’m not picky about music for strength.
We are having a drizzly day here, but it’s perfect for unwinding and resting up for the week ahead.
kookyrunner says
I found Andy’s strength class to have the best playlist for the Bruce Springsteen artist series classes – he had a nice mix of his hits on there which made the class go by so fast!
San says
Nice work this week, Kim. The Mayhem classes sound brutal.
I always forget how good Anna’s classes are – I usually opt for Kristin or Mariana, but I really enjoy Anna’s teaching style, too.
Maybe it makes you feel better that I didn’t know about the German rapper, Cro, until recently (goes to show that I am also not keeping up with the German music scene LOL)…
kookyrunner says
I really like all of the yoga instructors – they all have such calming and soothing voices!
LOL that does make me feel better – I felt like I was so behind in not knowing about Cro.
Darlene Cardillo says
You are amazing… Just the name mayhem sounds hard.
What no “memes”?!
kookyrunner says
I know! I was slacking on the memes this week but will have some good ones to share next week 🙂
Wendy says
That Mayhem challenge sounds tough! Seven days in a row? Yikes. I’m exhausted after doing 2 CF classes per week! I’m sure it was a great challenge, tho.
kookyrunner says
Yeah 7 in a row was a bit much, lol. I totally see why OTF only requires 4 out of the 7 to complete the challenge, but of course I had to do the extra classes because I’m crazy 🙂
JENN says
Whoo for surviving!
I hate complicated workouts! Why does it have to be that way???
kookyrunner says
Right?! Working out is hard enough without making the templates so hard to understand.
Chocolaterunsjudy says
7 intense workouts is definitely a LOT! Kudos to you for tackling all of them. You never know til you try, right?
Glad you got to enjoy the spectacular weather this weekend too!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Judy! I’m glad I did it and now I don’t have to do it again, lol.
Renée says
awesome work with Mayhem Kim!!! great week for you! Hope you had a great 3 day weekend as well.
kookyrunner says
Thanks Renee!
