Happy Sunday! I hope that everyone had a great week. I really enjoyed my week off from work. I did a few things but didn’t pack my days with a ton of errands. It was a nice opportunity to relax.
Here’s how my workouts went this week:
Monday, May 8
Scotland Kinloch Hourn Scenic Ride – Jon (20 minutes)
Mood Ride: Energized 5/18/22 – Mayla (20 minutes)
90s Bootcamp 12/16/19 – Jess (45 minutes)
Flash 15 2/4/22 – Jess (15 minutes)
I’ve been enjoying doing more of the scenic rides lately. I treat it as a mini vacation to visit place I’ve never been before, lol. I’m also still making my way through some of the older bootcamp classes.
Tuesday, May 9
Daft Punk HIIT Cardio 5/8/23 – Rebecca (20 minutes)
Daft Punk Ride 5/8/23 – Bradley (20 minutes)
Hills Run 12/9/19 – Jess (20 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness (60 minutes) – 200m Row Benchmark
Peloton dropped two new Daft Punk classes which I was excited about. Their songs are really good for working out.
At OTF we had the 200 meter benchmark row. Somehow I haven’t done that benchmark since late 2021 (no clue how I missed it both times it was offered in 2022). It was also offered in January this year but that was the week I had the flu and missed classes for a few days. I was happy to squeeze out a PR and make the leaderboard in my new age group. I never expect to place in my age group because we have really fantastic athletic members at my studio, so it’s always a nice bonus.
Wednesday, May 10
Orangetheory Fitness (60 minutes)
Bodyweight Strength 5/9/23 – Jess (10 minutes)
K-Pop Barre 5/10/23 – Ally (10 minutes)
API Heritage Yoga Flow 5/8/23 – Aditi (30 minutes)
The OTF template was sneaky because it didn’t look too bad on paper, but it was pretty tiring once I started doing the workout. I loved both the bodyweight strength and barre classes, especially the playlist for the barre class. The yoga class was felt great, especially for my hamstrings and quads.
Thursday, May 11
Pop Run 1/5/21 – Jess (20 minutes)
Euro Pop Run 5/10/23 – Susie (20 minutes)
Euro Pop Walk 5/9/23 – Jeffrey (15 minutes)
Euro Pop Ride 5/10/23 – Bradley (30 minutes)
Yeah Yeah Yeahs Yoga Flow 5/11/23 – Kirra (30 minutes)
I saw that there was a new Euro Pop badge so of course I had to jump on those classes to get the badge. All the songs were from Eurovision. I’ve never watched Eurovision (although I’ve heard it’s really cool) but I liked most of the songs. It made me want to watch old seasons of the contest on YouTube.
I treated myself to a full body massage in the afternoon. I haven’t had a massage in probably 4 or 5 years so it was very much long overdue and very much needed. I left the appointment a little sore but that was to be expected.
Friday, May 12
Yeah Yeah Yeahs Core Strength 5/11/23 – Erik (10 minutes)
Yeah Yeah Yeahs Ride 5/11/23 – Mayla (20 minutes)
Yeah Yeah Yeahs Walk 5/11/23 – Selena (30 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness (60 minutes)
I’m not really familiar with the music from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs but I didn’t mind it! I think they are considered an indie rock group.
Saturday, May 13
Madonna Walk 3/19/23 – Jeffrey (30 minutes)
Ed Sheeran Wall 5/5/23 – Tobias (30 minutes)
Yeah Yeah Yeahs Ride 5/11/23 – Emma (30 minutes)
Yeah Yeah Yeahs Core Strength 5/11/23 – Olivia (10 minutes)
I didn’t feel running so I opted for a longer outdoor walk. It was actually kind of hot during my walk even though I didn’t leave the house that late. I walked in my neighborhood which has a lot of small rolling hills which was great for power walking.
Sunday, May 14
Euro Pop Ride 5/13/23 – Benny (30 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness – Lift 45 (45 minutes)
Shakira Yoga Flow 5/10/23 – Mariana (30 minutes)
It felt good to get back to Lift45 this morning after taking a break last weekend. The template was kind of an endurance/strength hybrid with longer blocks which I really enjoyed. I also decided to end the week with an afternoon yoga class.
Also wishing all the moms a very happy Mother’s Day!
This week’s stats:
Bootcamp – 45 minutes
Cycle – 40.1 miles
Orangetheory Fitness – 180 minutes
Running – 11.5 miles
Strength Training – 100 minutes
Peloton Artist Series Classes – 993/999*
*not including rowing classes
Overall it was a pretty good week! I am feeling well rested, although I did peak at my work email this morning and it looks like I have a LOT of stuff to catch up on – sigh π But for now I’m not going to worry about that and just enjoy the rest of my weekend.
…and now for this week’s memes/funny tweets.
That’s it! I hope you had a great week π
Iβm linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

I’ll bet that that massage felt just awesome! And nice job on your OTF benchmark PR>
Good luck diving back into work next week!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Judy! Yes the massage was slightly painful but it did feel good π

Well, there’s something to be said for aging up! Nice job on your PR, and getting on that leader board.
Glad you had a relaxing week off! Oh and I like that memory foam meme… if only it were that simple, sigh!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Jenny! I ended up having a great week off – very relaxing and much needed.
Michelle says
Congrats on your benchmark row!
So glad to hear you had a relaxing week off – no more checking your email! It will be there in the morning lol π
kookyrunner says
So true Michelle! I really should NOT have checked my email. It’s a bad habit I need to break.
Deborah Brooks says
Nice work on your PR!! One of the perks of aging up π Happy Motherβs Day to your amazing mom π
kookyrunner says
Yes, definitely a great perk!
I hope you had an amazing Mother’s Day π
Cococ says
Congrats on the OTF benchmark row! I think you need to count yourself among the athletic people who go there. π
I did Oliviaβs Yeah Yeah Yeah core and she had the main song I know. Iβll have to check out the others.
I love the jellyfish meme.
kookyrunner says
Haha, thanks Coco! I swear we have super athletes at my studio. Most are so fast on the treadmill that they easily run 3 miles during a class. It’s crazy!
The jellyfish meme made me laugh out loud because it was silly, lol.
Darlene Cardillo says
Congrats on your new AG and that PR!!
That last meme is the best!!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Darlene!
Kimberly Hatting says

Thank you!!

So great you enjoyed your week off. You still got a ton of workouts in! I know the Eurovision contest was going on, but I didn’t take any of the classes. Will have to remedy that. I did enjoy Bradley’s Daft Punk ride though π
kookyrunner says
Me too – his Daft Punk ride was fun, and had a great playlst!
Wendy says
I’m sure you enjoyed your week off! I have been thinking about getting a massage–I’m having all these weird little niggles lately! I bet it felt great! I can’t say I ever watched Eurovision–not my thing :p
Have a great week!
kookyrunner says
Definitely get a massage! My shoulders and lower back feel so much better since my massage on Thursday.
Marcia says
Looks like another solid week Kim! Glad you enjoyed your time off. I’ve never heard of Yeah Yeah Yeah but I enjoyed the workout I did. I think the last massage I had was in Puerto Rico too many years ago. Ugh! Congrats on the OTF milestone!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Marcia! It sounds like you are also overdue for a massage – hopefully you can book one soon!
RenΓ©e says
sounds like you had a great week off! I seriously need a massage myself! I’m curious about the boot camps – do you do them outside like with headphones on? how does it work? Very cool about the Euro pop workouts – most people I know love watching Eurovision and get pretty excited about it. The Netherlands even won in 2019 and we lost our MINDS when it happened. This year I watched though I usually go to a watch party but circumstances just weren’t great.
Hopefully back at work this week isn’t too harsh!
kookyrunner says
So for the bootcamps you can do them outside, but they take place on the treadmill. The classes are 50/50 treadmill/strength training. For the 60 minute boot camps you normally do a 10 minute treadmill block and then a 10 minute strength training block. you do that a total of 3 times. I like it because it’s a nice way to break up the class so that it doesn’t get boring.
Jenn says
I am so glad you had a nice week off, with a massage to boot! You deserve it! And you’ll get caught up!
If I see two alligators hugging, I’m OUT! No, thank you!
kookyrunner says
Haha – I feel the same way about alligators, although I have never seen one up close.
Debbie says
How nice to take a week off with rushing somewhere on vacation. I personally think staycations are the bomb! Hope you’re able to ease into the week without too much stress.
I need memory foam inserts for my shoes. π
Jessie says
Great memes this week, the lizards and the jellyfish…
Sounds like a wonderful week! Glad you could relax. Congrats on the PR! π
