Happy Sunday! Fall officially starts on Wednesday and I couldn’t be more excited! This is my favorite season for numerous reasons and I’m ready for cooler weather, sweaters and all things apple and pumpkin.
Monday, September 13
Pre-Run Warm Up 9/7/21 – Marcel (5 minutes)
Endurance Run: Live From Home 5/2/20 – Becs (45 minutes)
Cool Down Walk 8/13/21 – Chase (10 minutes)
BHM Celebration Ride 2/13/21 – Hannah C (20 minutes)
Upper Body Strength: Live From Home 5/1/20 – Andy (30 minutes)
I don’t think I’ve ever done a run longer than 30 minutes with Becs so I was a little worried about this run but it ended up being fine. The BHM Celebration ride was short but good, and Hannah picked great songs for the ride.
Tuesday, September 14
Warm Up Run 9/1/21 – Marcel (10 minutes)
EDM Run: Live From Home 5/1/20 – Olivia (30 minutes)
Bike Bootcamp: Full Body 9/15/20 – Robin (30 minutes)
Fit Family Strong HIIT Cardio 4/3/20 – Jess (20 minutes)
Core Strength 8/9/21 – Robin (10 minutes)
Power Yoga 5/2/21 – Mariana (30 minutes)
I haven’t run with Olivia in a while and I forgot that she just starts a run straight out the gate – no walking warmup or anything. Good thing I took a warm up run before the class! I’m trying to add in bike bootcamps to my weekly workouts. I think the more I try them, the more I will hopefully like them. I don’t take a lot of Robin’s classes but this class reminded me that I need to add her into the rotation more – her energy is always amazing.
Wednesday, September 15
Core Strength 8/9/21 – Robin (10 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness – ESP (45 minutes)
Pop Fun Run 8/6/19 – Jess (20 minutes)
Sundays with Love Ride 10/25/20 – Ally (30 minutes)
I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the OTF class. It was truly a great mix of endurance, strength and power – hard, but not unbearable. Maybe it’s because I had not gone to OTF in 4 days? Either way, it was a nice way to start off my day! The pop fun run had a really awesome playlist so the 20 minutes just flew by – those are the types of runs that I love!
Thursday, September 16
Ed Sheeran Ride 9/14/21 – Leanne (30 minutes)
Ed Sheeran Arms & Light Weights 9/14/21 – Sam (10 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness – Endurance (45 minutes)
R&B Fun Run 8/19/19 – Jess (20 minutes)
Ed Sheeran Yoga Flow 9/16/21 – Kristin (30 minutes)
The Ed Sheeran classes that I’ve taken so far have been great! I’m a fan of his music so combining that with workouts is great. I was NOT in the mood for an endurance workout at OTF but I just had to remind myself that it was only a 45 minute class and wouldn’t be that bad, lol. I don’t typically run to R&B music but the playlist was more focused on 90s R&B songs which made it fun.
Friday, September 17
Latin Walk 9/15/21 – Jess (20 minutes)
Kualoa Ranch Scenic Class (1 mile)
Core Strength 8/9/21 – Robin (10 minutes)
Ed Sheeran Ride 9/16/21 – Mayla (20 minutes)
Ed Sheeran Recovery Ride 9/15/21 – Sam (20 minutes)
I didn’t want to do any running or lifting weights the day before the DriTri so this was the perfect stack. The Latin walk was super fun – Jess knocked it out of the park with the playlist. I’ll admit there may have been a few dance moves on the treadmill, lol.
Saturday, September 18
Orangetheory Fitness DriTri
Caribbean Fun Run 10/30/20 – Jess (30 minutes)
Ed Sheeran Full Body Stretch 9/17/21 – Robin (10 minutes)
Mexican Independence Yoga Flow 9/16/21 – Mariana (30 minutes)
I completed my 4th DriTri and walked away with a small PR. Although it was super humid (100% humidity – yuck), it was overcast and we ran by the water so that helped slightly with the super humid conditions. Every time I do this event I’m so happy that the studio continues to host the event outdoors. I love this event because it takes place every 6 months and it’s a great way to see progress. I know that I need to work on my running because that’s the only section where I can shave off some time.
I used the Caribbean Fun Run to help power me through the 5K portion of the event. It was a great pick because the playlist was just what I needed. I had to run a few errands after the event but made time for a stretch and yoga class that night.
Sunday, September 19
Sundays with Love 11/1/20 – Ally (30 minutes)
LHM Celebration Ride 9/17/21 – Hannah C (20 minutes)
LHM Celebration HIIT Cardio 9/15/21 – Rad (30 minutes)
I was a little sore when I woke up this morning but wanted to get in some activity. My legs usually feel better after cycling and today was no exception.
Total Weekly Mileage: 16.2 miles
Summary: 8 runs*, 7 cycle, 1 bootcamps, 3 yoga and 9 OTF/strength/HIIT classes.
*I include running from my OTF workouts, boot camp classes and stand alone runs.
Peloton Artist Series Classes Progress – 397/401
Earlier in the week I found out that my OTF studio is opening another location in my city – that’s huge news! I know that they took a hit with the pandemic but it looks like things are definitely going well for them now. It makes me so happy that they can branch out and open another location. I’m very lucky that my studio has awesome owners, managers and coaches so it’s nice to see them succeed 🙂 I’ll continue to go to the same studio I attend now because it’s closer to my house compared to the location of the new studio.
Last week I won a giveaway on Instagram for a towel from WorkIt Towels. As soon as I saw a towel with a Jess Sims quote, I knew I had to select it as my prize!
…and now for this week’s memes
That’s it! I hope you had a great week 🙂
I’m linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

That September meme is so me LOL!
Congrats again on your Dri Tri PR! I think it’s so great that your OTF studio is able to hold this event outdoors.
I can’t wait to take the Ed Sheeran classes – good to hear you enjoyed them.

I really need the official beginning of Fall to give us some cooler weather, lol.
I think you’ll enjoy the Ed Sheeran classes!
Lisa @ Mile by Mile says
I forgot that fall starts this week! I guess I am just confused because it still feels like early August lol. That’s exciting that your city is opening another studio! Great job this week!
kookyrunner says
It definitely still feels like August on some days! Hopefully we will get some cooler weather soon.
Jenny says
Happy almost-Fall! Yes, I’m excited.
Congratulations on your DriTri PR! Sounds like you had a great week- and I love the quote on your towel- I want one of those!
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much Jenny!
Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy says
Congrats on your DriTri PR! It doesn’t matter if it’s a second, it’s still a PR & that’s awesome!
If I can hang with Becs (well, not in speed, LOL!) for more than 30 minutes, I know you can. Everyone is talking about the Ed Sheeran classes. Guess I have to check them out! If only the darn treadmill actually worked. 🙁
kookyrunner says
Thanks Judy! That’s exactly what one of my coaches told me when I told her I had a small PR. It made me feel better!
Definitely check out the Ed Sheeran classes – especially the 10 minute stretch!
Deborah Brooks says
Congrats on your dri tri! You look super strong and fit. Another great week of training for you too. You know I am all about fall bring it on! Have a great week
kookyrunner says
Thanks! The DriTri was hard but I always appreciate it so much when it’s over because I know it’s challenging.
Jessie says
Turning down your music to see better, so true 🙂
What a fun week Kim! Congrats on the Dri Tri PR!
kookyrunner says
Right?! It’s so silly but it really works, lol.
Wendy says
And here I thought i was the only one who turned down the music to see when I’m driving, lol And yes, it’s September and we bought apples at an orchard today! Going to bake some crisp…
Congrats on the Dri-Tri! i would love to do that–I love doing those kinds of workouts.
kookyrunner says
LOL, it’s so silly to turn down the music but I swear it helps me find where I’m supposed to go!
Apple crisp sounds yummy! I want to make my way to an apple orchard this month or next month.
Kimberly Hatting says
The hubby just turned off the radio, today, as we were driving to the trail for our ride LOL We have an apple tree at work, and this year it’s been FULL of apples. I’ve snagged a few bags of them because not many others are taking them…and the poor branches are on the verge of snapping. Congrats on the DriTri PR!!! That’s really good news about the other OTF location!!
kookyrunner says
I also turned down the radio yesterday when I was trying to find a store, lol.
I’m so jealous of your apple tree at work! I can literally eat an apple everyday and never get sick of them. I wish you could FedEx some to me, lol.
Coco says
Congreats on the Dry Tri! I’ve been loving the Ed Sheeran classes too. I’ve got a few more to do. I am so ready for fall weather!
kookyrunner says
I really enjoyed Robin’s Ed Sheeran stretch – I will definitely do that one again!
Black Knight says
Congrats on your Dri Tri. Another solid week of training.
At last fall is coming! This is my favorite season too. Here there is a saying: “we prefer the season we were born in” and I was born in October …. an age ago!!!!
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much! I’ve never heard that saying before. I was born in the Spring and it’s my 3rd favorite season lol.
Darlene S. Cardillo says
Love that quote on the towel.
Congrats on the dri Tri.
You as always are so active.
I need to use your peleton chosen classes as a guide. I’m slacking on that.
Those memes are perfect.
kookyrunner says
Thanks! It was hard but still fun and very rewarding. I also love the towel because of the color – I don’t have any purple towels!
Marcia says
Congrats on another Dri Tri and hooray for a PR! OMG I runfess I’ve been looking for more “seasonal” weather since September started. I think it’s coming this week though!
kookyrunner says
Yes! I think the seasonal weather should be here by next week, and then I can finally indulge in pumpkin products lol
Debbie @ Deb Runs says
DriTri – what a fun name and congrats on your PR. What are the other events beside running? Rowing and strength training? I’m guessing from the little logos on the certificate. As always, you had a great week of workouts!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Debbie! For the DriTri it’s a 2,000 meter row, followed by 300 body weight exercises (6 different exercises) and then a 5K run. It’s kind of intense but still very fun and rewarding when you finish!
Debbie @ Deb Runs says
Yes, that does sound intense!
Jenn says
that’s great for your OTF studio! Good for them!
I wish fall was more of a thing in Florida. I’ll play along, because I love the idea of it, but it’s still beach and pool weather, and will be for quite some time.
kookyrunner says
Yeah that’s the one thing about Florida – I feel like you don’t get to experience all the seasons, but on the flip side you don’t have the brutally cold winters either lol
Cari says
Omg, totally guilty of turning down the music. EEEK. Not old
Congrats on the PR, so awesome.
I love the “You Get To” messaging when I do Jess’ classes, which admittedly isn’t enough.
I’m trying to power through Ed Sheeran the way you do country. I’ll take Eric Church off your hands if you take EdS off mine 😀
kookyrunner says
We’re not old, we’re “seasoned” haha
LoL that’s a fair trade of Ed for Eric.
