Happy Sunday! I hope that everyone had a great week. I think that Mother Nature must have sensed my frustration last week because she blessed us with some beautiful weather this week – cooler mornings and very low humidity. It made my heart smile!
It was another busy week as I’m gearing up for another staycation starting on Wednesday of next week. Work always seems to be crazy before taking some time off. Besides that, I’m still chasing 100 miles this month so I’m adding more miles to my workouts this week and next week.
Here’s how my workouts went this week:
Monday, August 17
Peloton 90s Rock Fun Run 1/9/19 – Becs (20 minutes)
Peloton Punk Rock Bootcamp 8/8/20 – Chase (30 minutes)
Peloton Ellie Goulding Full Body Strength 8/7/20 – Selena (20 minutes)
I like all types of music and I haven’t listened to rock music in a while so this was a nice switch up. The 90s had some of the best rock groups and Becs picked some great songs for her class. Chase was super pumped up for the punk rock bootcamp which gave me a ton of energy for that class. These workouts were a great way to start off the week.
Tuesday, August 18
Peloton Hip Hop Fun Walk 4/1/19 – Rebecca (30 minutes)
Peloton Live DJ Ride 8/14/20 – Robin (45 minutes)
Peloton 90s Ride 6/24/20 – Cody (20 minutes)
Peloton Lady Gaga Yoga Flow 1/23/20 – Aditi (30 minutes)
Tuesdays have become started to become my non-running days so I usually incorporate a nice walk before getting on the bike for the cycle classes. It’s a really good warm up! The Lady Gaga yoga flow was also pretty good. I’ve noticed that I prefer the yoga classes with ‘non-traditional yoga music’ if that makes any sense? It gives me something else to focus on besides my horrible balance, lol.
Wednesday, August 19
Orangetheory Fitness – ESP (45 minutes)
Peloton 90s Fun Run 2/12/19 – Jess (30 minutes)
This was a fun ESP class and I felt like I finally had my breathing under control on the treadmill even though we didn’t get many walk breaks. I’m trying to get in a few more miles this month so I added the 30 minute 90s Fun Run after class.
Thursday, August 20
Peloton Latin Run 8/11/20 – Jess (20 minutes)
Peloton Latin Run 8/6/20 – Chase (20 minutes)
Peloton Latin Ride 7/21/20 – Cody (20 minutes)
Peloton Prince Cool Down Ride 8/12/20 – Emma (5 minutes)
Peloton King Princess Yoga Flow 6/22/20 – Anna (30 minutes)
I had an early morning dental appointment and I didn’t want to workout before that so I decided to do a ‘lunchtime stack’ workout. I felt like something fun so I decided to pick all latin themed classic because I knew the music would be amazing.
Friday, August 21
Orangetheory Fitness – Strength (45 minutes)
Peloton Hip Hop Fun Run 10/31/19 – Jess (30 minutes)
I struggled during the first half of class (my legs just didn’t want to run sprints on an incline) but thankfully recovered for the second half of the class which included some fast rowing black and heavy weights on the floor. I did a quick 30 minute run after lunch to get in a few more miles.
Saturday, August 22
Peloton Y2K Hip Hop Fun Run 4/29/19 – Jess (45 minutes)
Peloton Pop Bootcamp 8/22/20 – Jess (60 minutes)
Peloton Full Body Stretch 8/12/20 – Jess (10 minutes)
It was a fun morning with my girl Jess Sims! Also I decided to throw in a 10 minute stretch after both classes. Sometimes I don’t stretch after class, or if I do, it’s a 5 minute stretch. It’s probably best to do longer stretches after these types of classes so I will start to incorporate more 10 minute stretches.
Sunday, August 23
Orangetheory Fitness – ESP (45 minutes)
Peloton Whitney Houston Yoga Flow 7/1/20 – Ross (45 minutes)
I really enjoyed today’s OTF class, especially the floor/row block. It was pretty fast paced which meant my heart rate didn’t drop too much – I prefer these types of classes. I found the treadmill portion to be difficult today because we had longer push paces and the mask I had for class wasn’t the best. I definitely won’t wear that one again.
Total Weekly Mileage: 24.3 miles
Summary: 11 runs*, 3 cycle, 2 bootcamp, 3 yoga and 4 OTF/strength/HITT classes.
*I include running from my OTF workouts, boot camp classes and stand alone runs.
Peloton Artist Series Classes Progress – 120/124
Grade This Week ā A
I’m looking forward to another staycation starting Wednesday of next week. Although I’m not going anywhere, it will be nice to have the time off from work. There’s something so freeing about not having to check emails and sit at my desk for hours on end. Also it’s currently Summer Restaurant Week in my city so I may venture downtown for outside eating. I need to check out the menus to see which restaurant I want to try.
I’m going to start the 4 week Peloton Power Zones program on August 31st. This programs provided measurable improvement in performance output on the bike and overall fitness. My low output numbers is something I struggle with for the cycle classes. I use my Apple watch to track my heart rate and calories burned and those numbers always look good to me, and they show I’m working hard, but my output/ranking on the bike is always below average in my opinion. I’m hoping this program will show me how to work smarter on the bike.
I’ve always wanted to do this program to improve my output, but I’ve been too scared to try it lol. Luckily a few weeks ago, Deborah and I talked about it and we decided to go through the program together. It will be great to go through this program with a friend!
…and now for this week’s meme collection..
That’s it! I hope you had a great week š
Iām linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

That’s probably the downside to seeing how you stack up against other people — it’s only about you! I’m sure I’d be pretty low down if Peloton could actually have my stats. Don’t care. Anyhoo . . . enjoy that staycation!
The weather this week (until this weekend) was SUCH a breath of fresh air! So needed!
kookyrunner says
Totally agree on the weather! I was hoping it would stick around for a little longer but it was nice having a few cool days this week.
Denise @runheartfit says
Love the memes! Do you only run on a TM or do you sometimes run outside? Great week of workouts.
kookyrunner says
In the summer I run more on the treadmill just because I really hate the heat/humidity.
Liz Dexter says
Great work this week. I can’t wait for my week off in October to sort out my “exercise room” and get going with the Peleton stuff! I’m chasing another 100 mile month but am nearly there, good luck getting to yours!
kookyrunner says
Oh that should be be fun! Always nice to have a fun project to do when you have free time.
Good luck on hitting 100 miles this month – I know you can do it!
Wendy says
I love how you want to improve your Peloton rides! I’m anxious to hear how it goes. I feel that way about CrossFit–I hate coming in DFL, even though I’m much older than the other participants. The running they’ve been adding to the WODs really benefits me. I hope they keep it coming!
kookyrunner says
Yeah I think it will be interesting to see how my output improves. It’s frustrating because I definitely feel like I’m working hard and getting in a great workout but then my output numbers are so low, lol.
Marcia says
Great week of activity for you! I’m also glad you got a taste of cooler weather. I noticed a couple of fall wreaths hanging on peoples’ doors recently. Kind of early but I’m sure they’re looking forward to a cooler season.
kookyrunner says
Thanks Marcia! I think it’s a little early for Fall wreaths, lol. Although I know that Dunkin Donuts already has their pumpkin coffee and donuts available for purchase.
Deborah Brooks says
I am going to do the pz test tomorrow and I am anxious to see how it goes. I would really love to improve my output as well. Excited to do it with you! Enjoy your days off this week š
kookyrunner says
You’ll have to let me know how the PZ test goes tomorrow!
Beckett @ Birchwood Pie says
The biggest downside to the pandemic is that I don’t really take time off work anymore. My company doesn’t have a formal PTO policy, so back in “normal times” I definitely took advantage of that and now it’s kind of like, ugh no where to go so might as well work every day. Although to be fair I do have my “Friday office” in the backyard so there is that. Anyway, happy staycation and happy century for miles! I’m really surprised with how many miles I’ve gotten in August. Usually it’s not a prime running month.
kookyrunner says
My job actually wants us to use up at least 40% of our vacation time by the end of this month. I think they don’t want a bunch of people waiting until the end of the year and then trying to take off the whole month of December. Although I won’t be traveling anywhere, it’s nice to have the time off to just chill and watch TV or do some projects around the house.
Coco says
I love it when we take the same Peloton classes. Chase was a riot with the Punk Rock workouts. Iām so jealous of your OTF classes. Our local case numbers are as high as they were when they first re-opened in June, so I am still staying away. š
kookyrunner says
Me too! That punk rock bootcamp class was so good. I like when Chase is really energetic like that – it gets me pumped up! I’m sorry that the Covid-19 cases are still high in your area š I was hoping that you would start to see smaller numbers in your area by now.
Lisa @ Mile by Mile says
I was also really grateful for some cooler weather this week. But this weekend it was back to being hot and humid. I really needed that short break from the heat though! Hope you enjoy your staycation!
kookyrunner says
Yeah I was sad when the cooler weather didn’t last longer, but it was nice to have a few days that felt like Fall!
Melissa says
OTF and so much Peloton! wow! I haven’t taken nearly any vacation this year- my 2 trips were cancelled due to the pandemic and I need to catch up!
kookyrunner says
That’s a bummer about the cancelled trips but hopefully you candors them next year!
Kimberly Hatting says
Oh, that’s gonna be fun doing the challenge with Deborah! As always, I love all the variety of your workouts. Ahem…maybe since you’re gonna be stayvacay’ing later this week, we could figure out a virtual “ride” together some morning? I’m envisioning a pic with our “bike’s” tires touching or something.(I know you’re is a spin bike, but maybe we could come up with something clever)
kookyrunner says
Ohh I like that idea about the “virtual” ride!
Michelle @ Running with Attitude says
Great week again! Sounds like you’re making great progress towards your 100 mile goal.
It’s great that you and Deborah will be doing the Power Zone challenge together! I can’t wait to learn what “output” means LOL
Enjoy your staycation!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Michelle! I’ve got until next Monday to log 28 more miles so I think I can just squeak out my 100 mile goal this month.
jessie says
What a great week! Glad you had some nice weather. So impressed with your dedication to Peloton and OTF! I love it.
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much Jessie!
Jenn says
I love staycations. They are so great, especially now, when it’s really just about trying something new while not going far.
Great workouts for you!
Restaurant week sounds fabulous!
kookyrunner says
I agree – I’ve always loved staycations!
Zenaida Arroyo says
I think I will do the Power Zones Program once I start running again. There are a few more classes I want to do (truly loving the Epic Sing Along Rides). I did a Latin Ride with Cody and, well, he just made it more fun and interesting.
Today is my last day of vacation. Back to work!
Enjoy your staycation!
kookyrunner says
I haven’t tried the Epic Sing Along Rides yet but those sound fun! Cody makes every ride so interesting, lol.
Shathiso says
Well done – what a solid week and well-deserved A! Crossing fingers you get to that 100 mile mark!
Enjoy your staycation! I took Monday off and I made sure I didn’t open any emails. I’ve also deliberately removed my work email from my phone so there’s no temptation to even check emails!
kookyrunner says
Thanks! I have about 20 more miles to go to hit 100 miles for August so I think I can do it!
Debbie @ Deb Runs says
We had the same lovely weather last week, but this week the heat and humidity returned. I hope you’re enjoying your staycation and are getting to check out some nice restaurants!
kookyrunner says
The heat cam back for us too this week, it made me so sad lol.
