Happy Sunday! I hope that everyone had a great week. Why is it that short work weeks always feel extremely long?? Here’s how my workouts went this week.
Monday, September 5
AFO Walk + Run: Sofi Tukker 8/19/22 – Matty (20 minutes)
AFO Run: Swedish House Mafia 8/19/22 – Marcel (20 minutes)
AFO Walk + Run: Rufus Du Sol 8/19/22 – Olivia (20 minutes)
Cool Down Walk 9/2/22 – Joslyn (10 minutes)
AFO Post-Run Stretch: Muse 8/19/22 – Susie (10 minutes)
AFO Ride: The 1975 8/19/22 – Emma (15 minutes)
AFO Ride: Ibeyi 8/19/22 – Camila (15 minutes)
AFO Slow Flow Yoga: Ibeyi 8/19/22 – Chelsea (30 minutes)
#nevermissamonday! I usually go to OTF on holidays but I wasn’t feeling it for Labor Day and opted for a run and cycling instead. I selected three 20 minute classes to keep the run fun. Matty’s walk + run was a nice warm up to go into Marcel’s endurance type class. Olivia walk + run felt more like a HIIT run due to a bunch of 30 minute sprints. The variety of the classes made the run go by rather quickly. After a cool down walk back to my house, I did a post-run stretch and then two short cycle classes to flush out my legs.
Tuesday, September 6
Orangetheory Fitness (60 minutes) [Infinity Workout]
AFO Walk + Run: Rascal Flatts 8/19/22 – Matt (30 minutes)
AFO Yoga Flow: Odesza 8/19/22 – Aditi (15 minutes)
AFO Full Body Stretch: Odesza 8/19/22 – Marcel M (15 minutes)
This workout stack, and the first day back to work truly kicked my butt. At OTF we had the Infinity workout, which is pretty much a prep for the DriTri. This is probably one of the top 5 hardest workouts that OTF offers, but it gave me a god idea of timing for each section for when I do the DriTri next weekend. When I got back home, I did a walk + run class to get in the rest of my steps for the day. I was also going to do a ride in the evening but I scratched that and focused on yoga and stretching – I needed something more low impact.
At work I had nothing but meetings – 8 to be exact. I used the one 30 min block I had free to eat lunch. Needless to say no work got done since I was on back to back meetings all day.
Wednesday, September 7
AFO Warm Up: Swedish House Mafia 8/19/22 – Daniel (10 minutes)
Saturday60: Advanced Full Body Bootcamp 9/3/22 – Jess (60 minutes)
AFO Ride: Swedish House Mafia 8/21/22 – Mila (30 minutes)
AFO Post-Ride Stretch: Carrie Underwood 8/19/22 – Denis (5 minutes)
My legs were a little sore when I woke up but I still opted to do the bootcamp class because I wanted a condensed cardio/strength workout. It wasn’t pretty, but I got it done! I made sure to get in an extra cup of coffee in the afternoon since I had to do a work presentation at 9am for employees in Asia. I very rarely have to do this so it’s not a big deal, plus it’s always nice to speak to employees you normally only interact with via email.
Thursday, September 8
AFO Run: Odesza 8/19/22 – Marcel D (20 minutes)
AFO Run: Sofi Tukker 8/19/22 – Olivia (15 minutes)
AFO Ride: Odesza 8/19/22 – Kendall (15 minutes)
AFO Ride: Odesza 8/19/22 – Jess K (20 minutes)
AFO Ride: Odesza 8/19/22 – Erik (20 minutes)
AFO Standing Adaptive Strength: Sofi Tukker 8/19/22 – Logan (15 minutes)
AFO Yoga Flow: Maggie Rogers 8/19/22 – Kristin (15 minutes)
This workout definitely belongs under the category “just get it done”. I was not feeling it from start to finish but I kept telling myself that I was moving my body and that’s important. Absolutely nothing against the classes, I was honestly just feeling lazy and wanted to sleep in, lol. On a more positive note, I saw my ART doctor in the afternoon and was able to get a chiropractic adjustment which was desperately needed as I haven’t had one in about 6 weeks. I used the yoga class as more of a stretch so 15 minutes was perfect!
Friday, September 9
AFO Hike: Kaytranada 8/19/22 – Jon (15 minutes)
AFO Ride: Kaytranada 8/19/22 – Cliff (15 minutes)
AFO Ride: Kaytranada 8/19/22 – Tunde (20 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness (60 minutes)
AFO Yoga Flow: Kaytranada 8/19/22 – Chelsea (15 minutes)
I’ve never heard of Kaytranada but I found myself enjoying some of the songs. His sound is more in the dance/electronic music genre, which I typically don’t enjoy, so I was pleasantly surprised, lol. I was happy that the OTF class was pretty manageable as I was still feeling the effects of Tuesday’s Infinity workout.
Saturday, September 10
Homecoming Run 4/30/21 – Matt (30 minutes)
Lizzo Run 7/15/21 – Joslyn (20 minutes)
AFO Post-run Stretch: John Mayer 8/19/22 – Jeffrey (10 minutes)
Carnival Celebration Core Strength 8/25/22 – Jermaine (10 minutes)
AFO Ride: Florence + The Machine 8/19/22 – Christine (30 minutes)
Although it was overcast, the weather was much cooler and less humid, so it was a good morning to take my run outdoors. I’ve had these classes pre-loaded to my phone for a while so I was looking forward to taking them. You can never go wrong with a Matt or Joslyn class – I just love their energy. I also really enjoyed the post-run stretch. Fun fact – I used to listen to John Mayer all the time in college, almost daily, so I’m a huge fan of his music. The playlist for the core class was awesome so I may repeat that in the future.
Sunday, September 11
Spotify Surf Rock Sunshine Walk 7/1/22 – Andy (45 minutes)
AFO Ride: Rascal Flatts 8/19/22 – Denis (30 minutes)
AFO Barre: Rascal Flatts 8/19/22 – Hannah C (15 minutes)
AFO Yoga Flow: Rascal Flatts 8/19/22 – Ross (20 minutes)
Today was an active recovery day. I took my coffee with my for my outdoor walk this morning and it was so relaxing! I feel like I want to make this more of a regular thing if I can. I will do the yoga class later on this evening.
Summary:
Running – 18.4 miles
Cycle – 43.32 miles
Strength Training – 40 minutes
Bootcamp – 60 minutes
Orangetheory Fitness – 120 minutes
Peloton Artist Series Classes – 759/826
On Monday, I treated myself to a Starbucks Pumpkin Cold Brew coffee after my run. It was my first time trying the drink and it was delicious! I can see why people would want to drink it daily. What wasn’t awesome was the price ($5.10 for the smallest size). Did Starbucks prices go up? To be honest I use Starbucks as more of a treat (I like the coffee I make at home) and only go there when I have a gift card, but still the price seemed kind of high.
…and now for this week’s memes.
That’s it! I hope you had a great week š
Iām linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

Sounds like you had a really good week of fitness, Kim — as usual!
We all have the little extras we’ll pay for — for some it’s coffee, for me it’s good food, LOL!
kookyrunner says
I’m right there with you Judy – I would much prefer to “splurge” on food vs coffee, lol.
Wendy says
Amazing work this week, Kim! We did a ton of rowing at CF last week–I would love to do a dri-tri!. I would certainly be ready for it, lol
I have a big gift card at Starbucks and yet, I’m still reluctant to spend on their coffees, lol!
kookyrunner says
LOL! For me, I like the coffee I make at home so it’s like I can’t justify the cost, even though I have a gift card.
Love that you did a lot of rowing at CF this week. I always forget that it’s a great full body workout.

Another week of busyness (in more ways than one). I am really missing out on a lot of great rides…just cannot bring myself to fire up the stationary bike when I still have the great weather outdoors. I should be bookmarking those classes but I keep spacing them off (my bad).
kookyrunner says
Look at it this way – you’ll have a ton of great rides to do indoors this Winter, and you can save some for the Fall Pelofondo!
San says
Dang, you had a full week… 8 meetings back to back That’s insane.
I was surprised how many artists I had never heard of during the AFO event LOL
kookyrunner says
Tuesday was just nuts. I always have meetings but never 8 in a row. I really hope that never happens again because I was definitely cranky by 5pm, lol.
Jenny says
Well, your job sounds hard, but you had an awesome week of workouts. I like the thought of you treating yourself to a pumpkin cold brew on Monday and also having a relaxing walk (with coffee) this morning. Treats and relaxation are important! Oh, and thanks for the reminder about Denis’s stretch classes- I’ve been missing him since I haven’t been doing yoga (due to a sore wrist.) I can still see him in a stretch class!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Jenny! My ‘relaxed’ feeling after coming back from a week off lately approximately 1 hour lol.
You are so right that treats and relaxation are super important.
Debbie @ Deb Runs says
What a great week of workouts, Kim!
I’m not a fan of coffee or tea so I don’t go to Starbucks, but my husband likes their coffees so we always stop there when traveling.
kookyrunner says
Starbucks is definitely a treat for me but I was so shocked by the sticker price!
Darlene Cardillo says
I have to try that cold brew. I still work from home so Starbucks is now a treat… and I’m worth it!!
A great week of activity… I agree about this week feeling like it was 5 days.
Yup. I recognize that mood.
kookyrunner says
The cold brew was great – it had just the right amount of sweetness.
Michelle says
Fantastic week of workouts!
I’ve been meaning to try that cold brew. We have a Starbucks right next to my building but I have to admit that I’ve slowed down on buying coffee there as the prices have definitely gone up.
That meme is on point! LOL!
kookyrunner says
I think you would enjoy the pumpkin cold brew! I am definitely going to treat myself to another one next month when the weather gets colder.
Deborah Brooks says
wow what a serious stack of classes this week! Sound like it was a super busy one for you all around. A coffee walk outside sounds nice especially as the weather cools off. I have not heard of so many of the artists I need to take a few more new to me classes
kookyrunner says
Yes I see more coffee walks in my future especially as the weather gets colder!
Liz Dexter says
Gosh so busy! I had two bad runs and two good ones, happy to hit my 21 mile target again, though it will be a lower week this coming week (we had a day out we were cancelling because of a rail strike that itself got cancelled, so now I have a four-day work week and customers told at short notice, plus the bank holiday next week!). We ran parkrun on Sat with a minute’s silence for the Queen and our participants appreciated that, but we’d spent all of Friday discussing whether to or not!
kookyrunner says
I can imagine it was hard to know how to honor the Queen vs. doing regular day to day things. I think a moment of silence was a great
Marcia says
Look at you knocking out all those AFO workouts! Nice work! I noticed that about Starbucks too. The drinks are just outrageous.
kookyrunner says
Okay so it’s not just me – these Starbucks prices are a little crazy!
Michele Heller says
As usual, what a great fitness week. I don’t get the Starbucks appeal and prefer the cheapness of home brewed coffee. I’ll go if I’m on vacation and our hotel doesn’t have a coffee maker, but even then I feel weird walking in and ordering “just a coffee”.
kookyrunner says
Me too. I normally try to get something other than my traditional coffee since I often feel like it’s a “treat”.
Jenn says
Chris Pine’s faces from Venice were EVERYTHING. The drama! The intrigue! Yikes!
Starbucks prices have gone up. We have been getting it more since one just opened by my house. It’s just super convenient now where before, it was quite a trek.
kookyrunner says
LOL right?! Every photo of him from Venice is a total mood and I love it.
